Fairly large rooms in this hotel. Wi-Fi is expensive at $16 a day, unless you've got Marriott status, in which case it's complementary. Receptionist made me feel welcome as a guest. The experience is Marriott worthy and the location is good to walk into town. Shopping mall is nearby.

The rooms were very comfortable and roomy. The odd # rooms face south with a view of the mountains it was very picturesque, it is downtown but not in the area that is to busy but all within walking distance. Try not to stay in a room facing west because the traffic noise is really noticeable. They do have excersize equipment as well as a pool for lap swimming and relaxing.

This was a very friendly and helpful staff. They gave me great recommendations on local restaurants and sight seeing. Downtown is very walking friendly. They sent us to the Snow Hill Cafe for breakfast and it was a local hang out and very reasonable process for the quantity of food.

Our industry trade association scheduled a conference in Anchorage and selected this hotel for 3 days of meetings. The hotel worked out just fine: our meeting facilities were good, the rooms were fine, the hotel staff was welcoming, and the location was picturesque beautiful! Location. The hotel is located in the Anchorage downtown area. A short taxi ride from the airport, walking distance from the shopping and dinner spots on 4th Avenue. Terrific views and a terrific room...the Marriot insistence on no free wifi unless you're a member is out of step with hotel chains these days...but you join for free as a member so no big deal...staff in the lobby bar were very good. Very comfortable beds made for a great night

In these days, especially in a high class hotel, you would expect a basic level of fee wi-fi in your room, this hotel only offered it to Marriott Reawrds customers. We have been in a few of these hotels around the world and have not joined it alas. You do get it in the lobby for free along with any one passing by. That aside as it is not the end of the world. Enjoyed our stay, particularly the quality of bedding and the room that enhanced sleeping. But we were irritated by wrong information provided at check - in regarding Internet connectivity. Despite challenge, the front desk staff insisted we would have to pay a large charge for bedroom Internet access. If this hotel was not part of the Marriott chain, and was just an Alaskan hotel I would probably be giving the hotel four or five stars, but because it is part of the Marriott chain it fell below expectations and will only be getting three stars. Everything was pretty clean, pillows smelled like bleach, there was some dust on the flowers, but other than that everything was ok. It‚??s hard to care where you stay when there is beauty all around you. I‚??m not much of a nature person but the Alaskan raw natural beauty is undeniable. Most of the hotels in Anchorage are older but this seemed to be pretty well maintained. Staff was nice and the location was great. I was able to walk a couple of blocks to the mall, an outdoor farmers market, and many restaurants. I took a flying tip to the Denali mountain. That was mind blowing and should be on everyone‚??s bucket list!

Room was ok. The staff and everyone were great. The hotel was expensive, had to pay for wi-fi. Horribly expensive, no breakfast included, prices were too expensive. The facility was nice BUT we had a major concern with the service. Our luggage had been dropped off by our cruise provider - who could document that they had dropped three bags. When we got to our room we only had 1 bag. When we went to the lobby - the only help we could get from Marriott staff was to say that they had delivered everything. When we checked in the Bellman was more knowledgeable and helpful than the front desk staff. Most people checking in have flown, a bottle of water in the room would be nice. This is much like most Marriott hotels, quite nice with comfortable rooms and a great location. I was happy with everything about it EXCEPT the stupid policy for wifi that it is only free in the lobby unless you are a status member.
