Fairly large rooms in this hotel. Wi-Fi is expensive at $16 a day, unless you've got Marriott status, in which case it's complementary. Receptionist made me feel welcome as a guest. The experience is Marriott worthy and the location is good to walk into town. Shopping mall is nearby.

The rooms were very comfortable and roomy. The odd # rooms face south with a view of the mountains it was very picturesque, it is downtown but not in the area that is to busy but all within walking distance. Try not to stay in a room facing west because the traffic noise is really noticeable. They do have excersize equipment as well as a pool for lap swimming and relaxing.

This was a very friendly and helpful staff. They gave me great recommendations on local restaurants and sight seeing. Downtown is very walking friendly. They sent us to the Snow Hill Cafe for breakfast and it was a local hang out and very reasonable process for the quantity of food.

In these days, especially in a high class hotel, you would expect a basic level of fee wi-fi in your room, this hotel only offered it to Marriott Reawrds customers. We have been in a few of these hotels around the world and have not joined it alas. You do get it in the lobby for free along with any one passing by. That aside as it is not the end of the world. Enjoyed our stay, particularly the quality of bedding and the room that enhanced sleeping. But we were irritated by wrong information provided at check - in regarding Internet connectivity. Despite challenge, the front desk staff insisted we would have to pay a large charge for bedroom Internet access. If this hotel was not part of the Marriott chain, and was just an Alaskan hotel I would probably be giving the hotel four or five stars, but because it is part of the Marriott chain it fell below expectations and will only be getting three stars. Everything was pretty clean, pillows smelled like bleach, there was some dust on the flowers, but other than that everything was ok. It‚??s hard to care where you stay when there is beauty all around you. I‚??m not much of a nature person but the Alaskan raw natural beauty is undeniable. Most of the hotels in Anchorage are older but this seemed to be pretty well maintained. Staff was nice and the location was great. I was able to walk a couple of blocks to the mall, an outdoor farmers market, and many restaurants. I took a flying tip to the Denali mountain. That was mind blowing and should be on everyone‚??s bucket list!

The facility was nice BUT we had a major concern with the service. Our luggage had been dropped off by our cruise provider - who could document that they had dropped three bags. When we got to our room we only had 1 bag. When we went to the lobby - the only help we could get from Marriott staff was to say that they had delivered everything. Sadly, we only stayed one night in Anchorage. The hotel's rooms are comfortable, roomy, clean, and spacious. The only disappointment with here and any of the other places we stayed in Alaska was that breakfast is not included as it tends to be in the lower 48. Food tends to be pricey, but heck, it all has to be shipped here, and you're on vacation, so just save up and enjoy it. The food was fine, both in and out of the hotel. Yes, you're in a rather large city, as opposed to many other area... Read more

After checking out of the Westmark we went to the Marriott and the experience was a complete joy! The view was awesome of the bay and simply MUCH more restful due to the overall clean feeling and smelling room!

We stayed for a conference and extended our visit to go sightseeing around Anchorage. The room was clean and updated and the staff was very attentive. We had a view of the port and within walking distance to the downtown attractions and shopping. There are two nice restaurants in the hotel and many within walking distance. We stayed a week and enjoyed having the hotel as our base.

Been at this hotel many times this past year, and while it is OK, it definitely needs updating. The beds are comfortable, ..however, the bathroom needs to be more user friendly. One can't place the shampoo bottles on the edge of the tub without them sliding off, nor in the wall recesses because they don't fit. They did update the towel hook on the door, so the towels don't slide off. The TV remote is a bad design. If one wants to switch from one channel to another, one has to keep pressing t... Read more

I stayed here a couple of times over the summer and can't quite figure out why anyone would stay here over some of the other options in town. The hotel seems to cater mostly to folks taking cruises nearby. Its conveniently located in downtown Anchorage. The rooms are perfectly fine, if a bit dated. They don't offer airport shuttle, so you'll have to budget another $25 for a taxi ride. The food they serve in the executive lounge is some of the worst I've seen in any Marriott property. I als... Our stay here was brief, but certainly time to get a good impression. The room was of a good size with all the fixtures one would expect & a big picture window. The first problem was that the telephone did not function, "something wrong with the cable connections". The eating areas left a lot to be desired & the food on offer was not what I would have expected from the Marriott chain. The breakfast was especially unsatisfactory. On the plus side was the bar area was good & the staff were excel... Read more

Nice comfortable hotel that's located right downtown. It's just a short walk to lots of restaurants, bars, and shopping. I stay here frequently when I'm in town for work. There are a few good hotels in Anchorage, this one is certainly among them.

I just called the hotel and even tho they advertise as 'high end' and are priced that way, they don't even offer an airport shuttle to the hotel! I read in the Q&A on this site that there is a shuttle. Incorrect. You have to pay for a cab ~$30

I'm staying here quite frequently and can fully recommend it. The hotel is not on a 5 star level but offers everything that a traveler needs. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are quiet an clean, the gym is OK, the food is good and it's centrally located. Why only 4*? The corridors are overheated and the a/c is underpowered. I don't need luxury but I do need the right temperature.

Three day biz trip. Comfortable, friendly, easy to navigate, conveniently located. All things worked as they should, food was good (breakfast). I would for sure stay again, actually liked better than some of the other local places I have stayed. Thank you.

We stayed in this hotel for one night only as a Celebrity Cruises vacation package. It was a good choice. It was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. Close by restaurants and pubs. Excellent location to go walking around the downtown area. Smaller by Marriott standards, but plenty large enough for our tour group. Our room consisted of two queen size beds, one easy chair in the corner and a functional bathroom with a great shower. No wi-fi in the room, you have to go down to the lobby to... Read more
