Fairly large rooms in this hotel. Wi-Fi is expensive at $16 a day, unless you've got Marriott status, in which case it's complementary. Receptionist made me feel welcome as a guest. The experience is Marriott worthy and the location is good to walk into town. Shopping mall is nearby.

The rooms were very comfortable and roomy. The odd # rooms face south with a view of the mountains it was very picturesque, it is downtown but not in the area that is to busy but all within walking distance. Try not to stay in a room facing west because the traffic noise is really noticeable. They do have excersize equipment as well as a pool for lap swimming and relaxing.

This was a very friendly and helpful staff. They gave me great recommendations on local restaurants and sight seeing. Downtown is very walking friendly. They sent us to the Snow Hill Cafe for breakfast and it was a local hang out and very reasonable process for the quantity of food.

Our industry trade association scheduled a conference in Anchorage and selected this hotel for 3 days of meetings. The hotel worked out just fine: our meeting facilities were good, the rooms were fine, the hotel staff was welcoming, and the location was picturesque beautiful! Location. The hotel is located in the Anchorage downtown area. A short taxi ride from the airport, walking distance from the shopping and dinner spots on 4th Avenue. The shock-and-awe here is the beauty of the snow-cappe... Read more

Terrific views and a terrific room...the Marriot insistence on no free wifi unless you're a member is out of step with hotel chains these days...but you join for free as a member so no big deal...staff in the lobby bar were very good. Very comfortable beds made for a great night

Service is good. Room furnishings are dated. Especially the dressers and night stands. Nice bed. Very convenient for Royal Caribbean Cruise. Nice views. Most like one of the best hotels in the area. Room does have a refrigerator. Room was clean.

The rooms are good, you are near dining and shopping (including the mall). What stood out for us was the staff commitment to offer great service with patience and diligence. We would definitely choose to stay with them again.

In these days, especially in a high class hotel, you would expect a basic level of fee wi-fi in your room, this hotel only offered it to Marriott Reawrds customers. We have been in a few of these hotels around the world and have not joined it alas. You do get it in the lobby for free along with any one passing by. That aside as it is not the end of the world. A good centrally based hotel in Anchorage, very spacious room with a decent sized bedroom, courteous staff, comfortable beds, flat screen ... Read more

Celebrity Cruise lines booked this hotel as part of our vacation. The hotel is conveniently located around several nice bars and restaurants. The rooms were very nice and I would definitely stay there again.

Enjoyed our stay, particularly the quality of bedding and the room that enhanced sleeping. But we were irritated by wrong information provided at check - in regarding Internet connectivity. Despite challenge, the front desk staff insisted we would have to pay a large charge for bedroom Internet access. After I noticed a promotional flyer citing free Internet for Rewards members there was some recanting. The only insuperable remaining problem was the hopeless wifi sign on process. If far less ... We arrived late at night for a one night stay as part of a cruise package. The hotel was exceptional and the staff was obviously used to getting in large groups of people checking in a one time. The room was large, very comfortable and as a bonus had a great view. The desk and dining room staff were great.

If this hotel was not part of the Marriott chain, and was just an Alaskan hotel I would probably be giving the hotel four or five stars, but because it is part of the Marriott chain it fell below expectations and will only be getting three stars. Everything was pretty clean, pillows smelled like bleach, there was some dust on the flowers, but other than that everything was ok. You have to pay for internet, but they offer the ability to watch Netflix and other internet streaming services through ... Read more

Spent a week here in May 2016. Had a great time! The staff, including Jennifer at the front desk were outstanding. The rooms and common areas were clean. We used the bbq grill several times, and the staff gave us all the items and utensils we needed to cook. I will definitely stay here next time I visit Anchorage.

This is a nice place, nicely located downtown, with easy access to everything Anchorage has to offer. A very nice first stop on any Alaska location. Easy walk to restaurants, shore, and parks. Nice big rooms too!

Modern Marriott with all of the amenities of any of Marriott's large urban properties. Very friendly staff, from the valet and bell staff, to the reception team. Rooms are spacious, very clean, and nicely appointed. Hotel location is two short blocks away from dining and shopping in Anchorage's small, but well done downtown. Overnight car park is adjacent to hotel property. If visiting on a weekend, parking is free at street side metered spaces. Hotel restaurant and bar are very nice, with... Read more

It‚??s hard to care where you stay when there is beauty all around you. I‚??m not much of a nature person but the Alaskan raw natural beauty is undeniable. Most of the hotels in Anchorage are older but this seemed to be pretty well maintained. Staff was nice and the location was great. I was able to walk a couple of blocks to the mall, an outdoor farmers market, and many restaurants. I took a flying tip to the Denali mountain. That was mind blowing and should be on everyone‚??s bucket list!

Room was ok. The staff and everyone were great. The hotel was expensive, had to pay for wi-fi. Horribly expensive, no breakfast included, prices were too expensive. I will stay somewhere else next time. It is located in downtown so you can walk around the town, but most of the other hotels go have shuttles to take u into downtown Anchorage.

The facility was nice BUT we had a major concern with the service. Our luggage had been dropped off by our cruise provider - who could document that they had dropped three bags. When we got to our room we only had 1 bag. When we went to the lobby - the only help we could get from Marriott staff was to say that they had delivered everything. Even when we enlisted help from the cruise operator, Marriott pretty much said "too bad". When we were in the middle of trying to get some kind of resol... Read more

When we checked in the Bellman was more knowledgeable and helpful than the front desk staff. Most people checking in have flown, a bottle of water in the room would be nice. Overall it was an okay hotel, room okay, nothing overwhelming. We would stay there again if we had to. The real disappointment was the Regent cruise tour agent who never showed up at the hotel to tell us anything until the next day.

The hotel was nice overall. The rooms were large, clean, and modern. The staff were helpful. There is not very much around the immediate area, but it is within walking distance from all the shops and restaurants. The business center was very small and cramped and the printer did not work. We had to wait in line for the ONE computer with a working printer. Unfortunate because a lot of people were wanting to print out their boarding passes. Wifi is free in the main lobby. We stayed here post-cruise on our way back to Chicago. The hotel lobby was very cheerful and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was a good size with a comfortable bed. No wiFi, which for a Marriott is poor. Breakfast buffet was okay with standard offerings. Overall a pleasant stay in Anchorage.

This hotel was home for one night at the start of our Alaskan tour. Clean rooms, air conditioning, TV with lots of channels, good shower, central location, overall pleased with our experience. We didn't have time to eat at the hotel but was told food very good, staff very pleasant. Would I stay here again if I was in this part of the world - YES

I can't say enough about the hotel and service. The rooms were clean and nice. The lobby was very clean. All the staff were fantastic, especially the bellhops and restaurant staff. We were part of a cruise group, and the bellhops had a lot of luggage to move. Our check out was noon, but they helped us go into our bags that they were storing to retrieve items until we flew out that night. The whole restaurant staff were great. Food in Hotel restaurants was fine even though ambiance was below average. Beds were comfortable. Rooms were clean. Well located; just a few minutes walk to just about everything including the coastal Trail. High cost of overnight parking seemed unreasonable but was fully disclosed before we booked.

We spent the night here as part of our tour with Royal Caribbean. The room was clean, windows were filthy. Our room had two DOUBLE beds not queens like most other hotels. The real bummer was the wifi, they wanted to charge us $14.95 or $17.95 per day depending on the type we wanted. It was free in the lobby. Not impressed with those type of charges.

The hotel is an average hotel. It does not have coffee in the morning and you have to pay for internet use. It is close to town so you don't need to take a shuttle but there are other hotels in the area that offer moreservices for less money

We stayed two nights at the hotel in June. Room was on 18th floor and had a nice view of the bay. Two queen bed room was reasonable in size and comfort. Internet speed was fine. Bathroom was typical of Marriott class hotels. Location was excellent with only a 5 minute walk to reach the main street, hotels, and restaurants.

From curbside to check-in to the room we had a great stay. The guys assisting with luggage could not have been any nicer and the same was true for the Front Desk staff. This is much like most Marriott hotels, quite nice with comfortable rooms and a great location. I was happy with everything about it EXCEPT the stupid policy for wifi that it is only free in the lobby unless you are a status member. For this reason only I would not likely go back and really hope they grow up and realize this hurts them in the future and change the policy.

Hard not to stay here when you come through Anchorage. The cost is average for a Marriott and the beds work. They have good televisions and the bathrooms are clean. It is perfect for a quick stop not too sure if I would do a long term stay here but definitely would come back again for a couple day stay.

We were overall very happy with our 5-day stay. It isn't the poshest of Marriotts and the room furnishings are a bit dated, but this isn't New York City either. Above all, the customer service was impeccable throughout the property and it is in a good centralized location for all that you'll do.

The downtown Marriott was our home base for a week long Alaska rail tour. Our family of ten stayed there three separate times and had superb service from everyone on staff. Brandon Donnelly helped us with some room reservations while Erik on concierge duty helped us multiple times with dinner recommendations and taxis. These folks are friendly, professional, and efficient....even when dealing with tired travelers or huge crowds of cruise goers!

As a Marriott Elite member I was very disappointed. Maybe it was the room on the 5th floor of this 20 floor hotel with no view? Or was it the half roll of toilet paper, no shower cap, no coffee for the coffeemaker? My husband went downstairs to get coffee to bring up to the room, upon asking at the front desk where he could get coffee, the manager apologized and directed him to the the counter where he could BUY coffee. Breakfast was so disappointing that we just picked at it and went for a wa... Read more
