Needs a renovation. Room was unclean, especially bathroom. Front desk staff was unaccommodating. Capt Cook or Crown Plaza are better options in Anchorage. Great location downtown though, but not what you'd expect from a Hilton.

The staff was great. Vallet parking was 24 dollars per night with the only other option being street parking. Also i had to call room service to have a mini fridge delivered to my room. I then had to wait several hours for it to begin to get cold. The room was nice but a little dusty. The coffee maker was older and did not work properly. They need some updates on appliances but I could think of worse places to stay. If you are coming to Anchorage the Captain Cook Hotel is by far the better optio... Read more

This seems like an old Holiday Inn where they just threw the Hilton badge on it. Rooms are dated and lightbulbs mismatched - some even the ugly fluorescent kind. Not bright and not especially clean. Just sort of old and dingy. Very small bathroom, too. Front desk staff was average and even leaving my car for a few minutes to bring things inside was reason for interrogation from the bellmen. No real "welcome!" attitude here despite most of us arriving from very long flights. No excitement about ... Read more

We were booked into this hotel at the end of our cruise as part of the transfer to our flight home. It is well located in Anchorage for the restaurants and bars. The staff were all friendly and helpful. There were areas of the hotel that looked a little tired. Our room was clean, spacious and the bed very comfortable. Plenty of choice for breakfast the next morning

Great service from the concierges. Very friendly and even accompanied us on the elevator at one point to talk about our outing that day. When we asked about hiking, they shared suggestions based on their experience and were very helpful. Valet was a good service and almost essential unless you're there on the weekend where you can park on the street for free. You can park across the road in the parking lot but it's $1/hour where as the valet is 24USD/day. Rooms are nothing special and our AC... Read more

Very tired and disappointing hotel. Expected a good room but given a 'cupboard' on the 11th floor. Asked for a room change but still disappointed. We even offered to pay for a better standard of room but this was the best they could give us. 3.30pm and we're still waiting for our room to be cleaned. Breakfast was slow - the waitress was very helpful but the guy cooking omelettes etc was disinterested. The manager was about but he seemed as equally disinterested. Don't think they can cope with... I hate to travel. With a passion. Did I mention I hate to travel ? My wife had been wanting a bucket list trip to Alaska for the past 6 years and I finally ran out of excuses not to go. Now, before I go any further, please give me my due for being able to avoid this for 6 years ! We went with a tour group, and everything was pre-arranged ahead of time. We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in June. This is a large hotel consisting of two towers. We were initially allocated a room in the West Tower - the wall paper was peeling off the walls and there was a constant noise all through the night from air conditioning units several floors below and from trains running in and out of the nearby station, which made a constant use of their whistles all through the night. There was no view to speak of. We asked for a room change the next day and were g... Read more

Got to the hotel just after midnight, straight from the airport. The desk clerk was slow, unable to properly do her job, and rude. Got up to our room to find that neither of our key cards worked, and that we were just down the hall from the elevator. Since we needed to get the key cards redone we asked for a room further for the elevators. Thus began a wait of several minutes as the desk clerk went back and forth into the room behind the desk probably five or six times. We finally get new ke... Read more

The hotel is walking distance to the train station ( 5-10 mins), to Egan center for coach pick up ( 5 mins), to the start of the coastal trail (5-10 mins) and to a number of restaurants downtown ( 5-10 mins). The reception staff seemed very eager to make amends when one of them checked us into the wrong room. Most of the rooms have views out towards the estuary or downtown... Would have liked the bathroom floor to be cleaner. Overall we had a good stay!

I stayed here for work. The hotel itself is in a good location, however, the rooms are wildly outdated. Think 1970's style and size. For the price, the quality is not commensurate. My biggest gripe was the absolutely revolting and useless Executive Lounge. What a massive joke.

I think this seems to be typical for the area but this hotel seemed pretty overpriced for what it was. The decor and everything seems pretty old, like it hasn't been renovated in a while. We stayed at this hotel for the first 3 nights of our Alaskan trip and we had an overall satisfactory experience except for couple of small flaws. First of all, location of the hotel is very convenient: it's in walking distance to all main activities in town. The rooms are, though not very spacious, confortable. Our room was on the river side and our main problem was the frequent whistle of trains, we woke up every night because of that noise. Maybe, it might be a good idea to book a room from... Read more

The service at this hotel is exceptional. Every member of the staff are absolutely wonderful. That said, the rooms are dated and worn. My room #369, smelled like cigarette smoke. It was coming from inside a vent. I know I have written this same review before from previous stays, but hopefully Hilton will prioritize updating this property. The location makes it really convenient.

This hotel is ideally located on the edge of Downtown within walking distance of local shops and restaurants. The rooms are old and tired as is the restaurant and lobby. It's not cheap either. Our room had still not been cleaned when we returned at 3pm apparently due to under-staffing. The service manager was helping out the staff himself! Anchorage is an expensive place to stay. Try the Captain Cook hotel instead.

Can't say our stay was bad, just not the standard Hilton we are accustomed to and, yes, I am a Hilton Honors member. Front desk personnel are understaffed although the lady waiting on us was courteous and helpful. Room was adequately cleaned, bath towels missing after we got into our room (almost an hour later than check in time). Lobby furniture is well worn and area could use an update.
