Anchorage is an expensive city. The Hampton is moderately priced and the included breakfast is a nice touch. The rooms were clean, parking free and location convenient. Nothing unique or special but a good solid place to rest and have breakfast. Hey: you didn't come to Alaska for the hotel!

In the first room we discovered that the front entry door would not lock. All anyone had to do was push on the door and it would open. So we moved to another room. In the second room the water temp in the shower was impossible to regulate and the room was next to the lobby making it very noisy. So we moved to another room. In the third room there was mold in the bathtub. Also, housekeeping missed us on a day when we needed towels. We didn't want to move again, so we just dealt with it. Th... Read more

Not sure if you're aware, but hotels in Anchorage are EXPENSIVE!! This was one of the more reasonable ones. It's clear that they work hard to keep it clean and neat. They offer a wonderful shuttle service with a smile. The front desk has been wonderfully helpful every step of the way. The breakfast was just right and served with a smile too. They work hard to prove that they are worth the money.

I absolutely loved staying here! The rooms are gorgeous and so clean. The beds are really comfortable. I feel like I'm at home here, and I feel welcomed. They also have a 24 hour gym which came in handy for my stay. I would not pick another hotel to stay at over this one!!

We like Hamptons to stay at because the bedding is fresh, there is a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker in the room. Rooms here are decent size, bathroom has enough counterspace for my stuff plus my husband's. They have good laundry room, excercise room only has one treadmill (would be better if there were two so we can exercise at same time). Location gives easy access to other parts of Anchorage, and some good restaurants that are in walking distance.

Our room was not ready so we waited. We had to go to the airport and when we called for the shuttle the hotel never answered. so we took a taxi. The hotel reimbursed us for the taxi ride. The breakfast was not all ready and we had to leave early. Slow service seemed under staffed. Probably would find another hotel the next time. Beds were comfortable, and quiet.

Stayed 2 nights during a layover on return from a Royal Caribbean cruise. Very clean with good selections for hot breakfast in am. Front desk staff were very helpful, especially when arranging shuttle transport into town for dinner for our party of eight. Also helpful in allowing late check out (3pm) for a our late departure. A bit pricey on the snacks ($5 bucks for a ice-cream cone???). Overall, affordable, good place for a short stay while in transition.

Good place to stay in Anchorage, Nice room with blackout curtains for the all day sunlight. Good breakfast and nearby restaurants (Applebees in the parking lot). Staff was helpful and friendly. Location is a bit far from the downtown but staff helped us figure out the free shuttle system to get around.

The biggest surprise was the free transportation to two locations downtown. It ran until 9 pm and 24/7 for the airport. We used the it a couple of times. The breakfast was the same as any chain. The rooms were clean and a good size.

I highly recommend Hampton Inn! Every worker here Has exceptional customer service which you can hardly find these days. We will be back soon! Had my daughters bday party and they even asked me if I needed anything! Usually other hotels don't and complain rather than try to help. Breakfast was great loved the sausage and eggs! We all had a good time! Thank you Hampton inn and their staff!

We stayed in Anchorage for one day prior to leaving for Seward. This hotel was decent for the price. It had a small indoor swimming pool and hot tub which was nice. The staff were great, very helpful and friendly. The cleanliness of the room, not so great. There were black foot prints in the bathtub. We stayed 2 nights and our room wasn't cleaned the 2nd day. We stayed at this Hampton a total of 5 nights in 3 stays, using it as sort of a home base for our Alaska explorations. Reservations were made months in advance and rooms were ready and waiting as requested (we saved considerably on the rates by doing this). The hotel location was ideal for us: It's only a few minutes from the airport and has easy access to Seward Highway and downtown. It's in a business district of office buildings and hotels so it was pretty quiet. There are several restaurants... Read more

Though it is not within walking distance of the airport or the downtown historic area for shopping, the free hotel shuttle runs regularly between both points and is very convenient to use. Hamptons are pretty universal and overall a pretty good place to stay. Seemed like the gal up front needed a bit more help when we checked in as they were busy. Not a big deal. The weird thing was when we went to our room, the door was open with the latch stuck out. We proceeded cautiously and went in after knocking. Then once inside the drawers were open in the dresser. Friendly staff, but not of Hilton standards. Compared to other Hampton Inn in Europe, this was mediocre at best. Very dated. One redeeming factor is the free shuttle to and from mid-town. If you just want someplace convient near the airport, the free shuttle and In-house restaurant make this a good option. The rooms are nothing special, but clean and good value for pricey Anchorage. The only down side was that the website said the "construction" was complete, but when we arrive, they were still painting well into the night in the hall outside our door. The good news is by now it's done and all looking new and updated. Check in easy, check out was slow.

Good, clean room and facilities, decent Wi-Fi, friendly and helpful staff but was not totally truthful about the shuttle TO the airport. It doesn't run regularly but circles around three hotels picking up people.
