Front desk folks were cordial and polite. Room had Microwave, small coffee maker and Refrigerator. Comfortable king size bed. The room was clean and comfortable. Only two blocks from the downtown mall which has a Wells Fargo with an ATM. The hotel has a nice little bar. The two nights I was there I stopped by for a drink and they were having open Mic night. I ended up staying a lot longer than I planned to listen to some of the local musicians. I had breakfast one morning at the hotel. The next ... Read more

Beds where super comfy and warm. The heater in the room was a little confusing, bathroom looked small and compacted but still very functional. Coffee machine worked, and there wasn't enough wall plugs, but over all experience was very good.

I visited the Anchorage Lofts Hotel on February 18th. The staff and property was better than I thought. The food was great in the Loft's Lounge and the staff served exceptionally well. I decided to take the helicopter ride from the roof of the Loft's Hotel. I had never rode in a helicopter before and really enjoyed it! The shuttle driver brought us back to the hotel promptly and safely. I would highly recommend that you enjoy the Anchorage Loft's Hotel experience.

Rooms were descent and were at a great price! As a tall person showers were nice and tall. Great bar with great food located on 2nd floor! Bartender was really nice and quick with drinks and food. Good location for the event we were attending.

The new name for the Anchorage Lofts Hotel...now, Aviator Hotel-Perfect! The quality has soared to a whole new altitude! Wow! Exceptional customer service, started with Karen at the front desk, just a sweetheart! Had the pleasure of meeting a lot of the staff over the course of my stay including one of the owners Jennifer, who is filled with passion & excitement over the hotel and all they're doing-very relaxing lounge and when they have music..it rocks-Mike who runs the lounge is awesome! ... Of the 3 rooms our families stayed in, all were missing something. One of the rooms was next door to people up screaming all night and the police were even called and came. We were only comped $50, which was not enough for entire night of lost sleep.

It was a great location! The rooms were clean but very average. The flea market and the most amazing halibut chunks was right across the street. Enjoyed being able to walk where ever we needed to. The pool was under construction so didn't even get to see it. The only coffee in the hotel was decaf. It would be nice if the hotel included a continental breakfast at least. There were several locations in the hotel that would have room to include that. But for the price we couldn't ask for more.

We stayed for 2 days while on vacation. Check is was quick and she was very nice. Rooms were outdated. Could not get Wi-Fi in rooms or in all of hotel at times. We were told we had a great mountain view. We did not.I was tending to a sore knee and needed to ice it. The ice machines did not work.on any floors. I told front desk they did not do anything about it. Had to wait till bar opened at 5 to get ice. On the positive it was a great location we walked everywhere. The breakfast was very good... Good hotel: It was one of the best prices I found in town. The room I stayed has bathtube, coffee machine and microwave oven. Comfortable, but I haven't found it has a pleasant atmosphere. It is near the train station and a few minutes walking !! It's perfect when you are going to take a Cruise departing from Seward and you are going to take the train at the station.

This was our only option. Fortunately, we did not have to stay in the hotel except for at night when we had to sleep. Cons: The hotel was dark and poorly lit (in the hallways, rooms, lobby, everywhere). I assume this is to help hide dirt so that they don't have to clean as thoroughly. The room floor was stained and dirty. The TV was an old tube box (we never turned it on). The hallways on the first floor smelled dank and reeked of pot. Shady characters wandered around the hallways. My cowor... Read more

We asked for a new room when we found that our first room smelled of urine, had unidentified smudges on the walls, and no buttons in the phone. The second room at least smelled better, but it was still disgusting. The rooms are outdated to say the least, and not cleaned well. Our room and our kids' room both had nonfunctioning phones. They smelled musty. The walls were dirty. The light switches were splotch with dirt and grease. The bathroom light in one room actually was the light in the closet... Read more

My husband and I were finishing up a 12 day RV tour of Alaska and needed a place to stay the last day of our vacation before flying back to Ohio. This hotel is located downtown within walking distance to all the activities and shopping. Our room was very clean and the staff was AMAZING! And the price beat all other hotels in the downtown area by far. Believe me, I checked them all. These people were so nice to us! The owners, Randy and Jennifer, are extremely helpful, friendly and went abo... Read more

Got to the hotel at midnight very tired after a long day to find one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. The excitement wore off quickly after spending quite some time trying to figure out where the constant noise, similar to water filling a toilet tank, was coming from...exhausted and frustrated there was no other option than get used to the noise. Room number is 128. Other than the noise the room was simple but clean except for two weird tiny unfamiliar bugs one found on the to... Read more

We were treated very well breakfast was very good as well as the lunch we were served. Wifi was good. I understand they have printers for boarding passes and free parking did not use it

We stayed at the Aviator Hotel for 3 nights. If I would not have pre paid online we would not have been there longer than 1 night. It is under renovations so I hope that it get the improvements it needs. I felt very uncomfortable going into the laundry area of the hotel. It was located in the very back of the building and looks to be in an area where people actually lived. The laundry area was not well kept. The hotel room we had was pleasant and fairly clean. The beds were comfortable. It could... Read more

Chose this hotel for reasonable price and walking distance to train station. It is a basic room and was clean, bed was decent but pillows were flat/thin and only 3 of them, front desk could not get more pillows. Room was quiet and AC worked fine. I felt safe at the hotel. I recommend as a no frills decent place to sleep and great to catch the 645 am train

A little dated decor. A little short on maintenance. But, clean and comfortable. A good price by Alaska standards. We chose it because of proximity to the train station. Just a couple of blocks, <10 minutes walk, down hill. $20 cab ride from the airport. We'd stay there again.

Clean the place up and install staff who know and care and this could be a great hotel. Room and linen were clean enough sort off, beds were OK. Hallways were grubby and a musty smell throughout. Staff did not know the layout of the hotel, or how things worked. Worse, staff did not care. Walking distance to all of downtown Anchorage.

Alaska is such an awesome destination that I must admit we didn't think much about the room at first. But as the days went by we were so pleased with the fresh clean room and the outstanding restaurant, where after the first day we took nearly every meal. Breakfast eggs Benedict by Tracy got my wife up earlier than usual and walking with a smile on her face! The lounge in the hotel had the greatest Blues music we've heard in a while. I also must say that the Halibut dinner was incredible.Randy ... Read more

Being met as we arrived with a broken sliding door into the lobby and then a luggage trolley filled with boxes filled with bottles, it seemed a bit questionable - and unfortunately, it continued. The room was dark and dingy, and we had a "garden" level room which looked out onto a little rock-filled (and some garbage) area before the a fence and street. It was not a very welcoming view. The streets around the hotel did not particulately feel safe, as there were a number of what appeared to be... Read more

The hotel is downtown in a great location, but the neighborhood seemed sketchy. It wouldn't have been bad except the close parking was taken, so we had to park a little ways away and walk. The room was decent but nothing fancy. The women at the front desk were great! They were friendly and helpful. This is not a luxury location, but it is decent for the price.

I stayed at this hotel during a visit to Anchorage with a friend this summer. I previously stayed there as a long term guest in 2013, during which time there were homeless people breaking in and sleeping in empty rooms, maintenance men constantly unlocking my door and walking in unannounced, entrances propped open with people smoking right outside, garbage cans overflowing with beer bottles and cigarette buts littered everywhere, shady people hanging around, broken appliances, etc. There was a d... The best part about this hotel is the location - it's very convenient and within walking distance of downtown. I'll preface my remarks with a kudo to the manager who moved us to a much better room when I raised concerns. When we walked into the lobby area, I asked the attendant - what is this place. The lobby was dark, dingy, ill appointed and the guy at the desk was clueless about what it was or why it looked the way it did. The room he gave us was a LONG way away in another wing. As we m... Good location - close to restaurants, malls, tours, etc. The hotel is beat up. It was mostly clean, but a very old building that was shabby-looking. The first day, housekeeping staff knocked on our door even though we had the Do Not Disturb sign on, and then never came back later like we asked to clean our room. The second day, they took the sheets off the bed and never put them back on. We had to call the front desk at 5pm to have them bring us sheets. However, when they did clean the room, it ... Read more

We booked in for 3 nights and spent the first in disgusting squallow that I wouldn't put a dog in. The room stunk of urine and I daren't take my shoes off as they were sticking to the carpet. Due to the stench in the room we opened the window which exposed some very suspect activities in the car park. We were moved on the second night after I discovered the couple in an updated room next door was paying $120 per night and we $380. On the third day I spoke to the Manager who apologised, then of... PROS: Cheap, 5 minute walk DOWN hill to Alaska Rail Road, some rooms are clean and new, Staff very attentive and courteous, AK alchemist a coffee/breakfast shop down the street is open at 6am with excellent coffee. CONS: Have to fight for that clean, nice room. A lot of foot traffic in and out of hotel. IMPRESSION: this is an old hotel which is trying to improve. It would probably be better to close down for a few weeks, remodel all the rooms, train the staff, get rid of the foot traffi... Read more
