This hotel was a good location for my work. The hotel was clean and had friendly service. I did not get out to see what was around to do, but the location was close to the Mardi Gras parade. I would stay here again if I ever return to the area. Hopefully next time I will have someone to go sight seeing with.

Stayed for 5 nights on business. Location is great, easy short walks to anywhere you want to be downtown. Rooms are clean, modern. WiFi is very good for Mobile hotels. Fitness center is a real plus. Lobby is comfortable. Great staff. Easy parking but it's not free.

This is our second year staying at this hotel, last year we had a one bedroom suite and this year it was a one room and it was still very spacious for us. This trip was myself and 2 girlfriends (ages 36, 42 and 52) for Mardi Gras. The staff is always wonderful and neither trip have we ever had an issue. Its close to Bienville Square where all the parades are, and by close I mean a block and a half away. My only issue, is parking. Its VERY limited in the parking lot in front of the hotel. Th... This was one of the last hotels available in the historic district. Rooms are nice and have kitchens. A little plain but nice. Staff was very courteous. Parking is behind building and is very limited. Rate was reasonable. We will return to this location next time we are in town.

We stayed here April 14th thru the 17th, 2016. We were in the area for a dance competition. It was close to where we needed to be. This place is not fancy but clean, the staff polite and friendly, and we loved the overall size of the room, the full kitchen, some full size appliances we shopped before arrival) - other then the stove and the coffee pot is small, dishes, a few pots, a little utensils to cook with and enough utensils to eat with, dish soap, a small amount of dish washing soap, one... We used this hotel as our home base for my daughter's wedding. We were all from out of town but the staff was very helpful and accommodating to our needs which seemed to be many due to the amount of people in our party. The rooms were very comfortable and roomy. I would definitely recommend this hotel for comfort and staff friendliness. The hotel does not offer a free breakfast but has a room with beverages, foods and necessities at a very reasonable price. The warm, homemade cookies provided ... Read more

New review. Deleted first review and wanted to add additional information. Drove up from Saint Augustine Florida to attend my 50th High School class reunion. Chose the Candlewood Suites because of location and great value. I am and IHG Platinum Elite member and always try to use the IHG group of hotels when I travel. This hotel is centrally located to all areas of downtown Mobile. It is extremely clean , great pay for parking, very conveniently located outdoor pool with BBQ grills for your use... Read more

Had to spend a night in town and stayed at Candlewood for first time. The room was nice and the bed very comfortable. They had a nice refrigerator and microwave with complementary popcorn for microwave. You can even borrow movies from their wide selection library.

In downtown Mobile very nice place. Friendly staff. Lady at the front desk actually came out to our car across the parking lot to give us trail mix for our road trip. Extremely impressed. The hotel provides movies at the front desk, grills by the pool and fire pit. Work out room.

Stayed here for 5 days for a Conf at the Convention Center. Room was clean and spacious. Amenities were good esp full size frig. Located on Royal St, hotel was walking distance from great restaurants, park, museums, and other historical landmarks. They have a loan center for things such as games, waffle irons, and blenders. You can also check out DVDs. Nice pool area with grill. Parking at the hotel is limited. There is a garage a tithe street with in/out access-no hotel key card required. Ou... Read more

I agree with other reviewers that this was an excellent find. I liked being able to borrow DVDs (for free) and the outside area by the pool was really nice. For the wheelchair users, I would add that I was really pleased with the accessibility features of the room, including being able to sit at the desk in a wheelchair. The doors were standard (not automatic). The main downside, in my view, is that parking in the lot next to Candlewood fills up quickly, and then parking costs $8 in a garage a... Read more

This place is definately recommendable! The rooms are spacious, clean and neat. Staff is friendly and welcoming. We found it especially convenient that you were able to BBque by the pool. They have gas grills that work exceptionally well. It is a really nice place, located right downtown Mobile. Everything cool is within walking distance. Check out "Dumbwaiter" restaurant if you want to eat out fancy. For a quick bite visit "Mama's". Back to Candlewoods. It is worth its money and more than ... Read more

I stayed one night as a result of the Renaissance Hotel over booking and then sending me here. Check in was friendly. The basic issue I have is that the room smelled of stale tobacco and was not clean. There were crumbs on the kitchen area floor and the carpet was stained and smelled of cigarettes. I never took my shoes off because the carpet was so dirty. .

I stayed here primarily because they offered a government rate but I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel was within easy walking distance of everything I needed, the room was huge, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I couldn't have asked for better. I really appreciated the free laundry facilities as well since I was on a long trip. The only negative I can think of is that the elevator is a bit slow but it wasn't really an issue for me.

We stayed here two weeks ago for one night, with our dog. The location is perfect, right downtown with easy access to the interstates, but quiet as well. The staff was super friendly and helpful with our complicated reservations. We will definitely stay here again on our way to Florida.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of most downtown attractions. It has convenient parking behind the hotel, at a price of $8 a night. It is attractive outside with a small swimming pool and covered patio. I was disappointed with the room. First, there was only one recliner and a desk chair to sit on. Second, the bed was pushed almost against the wall, making access for two difficult. Third, there was no ice bucket. In all my many years at a hotel, this is ... Read more

The rooms were nice and clean. The only complaint is $8 per night parking. The parking should be included, should not have to pay to park and walk to a different lot. Would be nice if they offered a breakfast.

We had ground floor room which was great for us- no lift. The rooms are very large and have a full refrigerator and a small cooking top and a microwave with cutlery. You can buy basic breakfast and food stuff at the store on the ground floor if you wish as there is no breakfast. We did not mind no breakfast as sometimes we do not wish to have. A small pool at the front which is nice and paid parking available. Used the free laundry which was great and ice on every floor- just take your ice h... Read more

Our holiday from the UK was going to be the East Coast but had to cancel because of the Hurricane , so we chose Alabama & was not disappointed . This Hotel was wonderful! Staff was very helpful & friendly, rooms & all the service rooms were very clean. Slightly noisy buy the swimming pool with surrounding buildings, but not the Hotels fault. We had a internet problem but the staff did everything possible to correct it.

Stayed here one night for business. One of the few times I have really wished I could have stayed longer at a business hotel. Free (current) DVD movies, room was large with a nice kitchenette. Clean, no odd smells, comfy bed, and carpet that looked fairly new. Building was very secure (had to ring in or use card to enter). There were also games and appliances available for checkout. Clearly intended as an extended stay set up but just fine or the night. Great value. The only hitch in my ... Read more

I have never stayed in a "down town" Candlewood Suites before, and that is what made it unique. On the outside it looks different from most other Candlewood Suites, but on the inside, it is 100% Candlewood! What I did like: The rooms are larger than most other locations and are immaculate! Very clean and very well maintained. The "lending locker" and "pantry" are very well stocked. The common areas are also well kept and well maintained. The desk staff was EXTREMELY friendly and very helpful... Read more
