Our key did not work. Went back to front desk & had it programmed. Got into first room and it was not ready--beds stripped, toilet unflushed, dirty towels. Went back to front desk and was given another room. Explained that we had to get our luggage out of first room. Was given key to first room to get luggage--key did not work. Fourth trip to front desk and this time the on duty manager accompanied us to the first room to open it. Twenty minutes from arrival time to actually getting into o... Read more

It was our daughters college graduation weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. We all enjoyed our stay, was impressed with the hotel property and the professionalism of the staff. We highly recommend Homewood Suites in Hoover, AL.

This hotel is very clean, welcoming, and the staff is excellent. Set in tranquil surroundings and conveniently located to the freeway, just minutes to everywhere. The fitness area is too smal, but they offer free passes to Golds Gym which is only 5 minutes away by vehicle.

I've stayed at approx 400 different hotels in my life and am glad to say this was the best ever. They had the complete package. It's fairly new so everything is in great shape. The water pressure in the shower (I'm a little fanatical about a good shower) was excellent. The room was super clean. The staff at the front desk were awesome. (Despite being Alabama fans. At least they didn't say Roll Tide). The kids really loved the pool, but the hotel also had a basketball court (which my 11 an... Read more

I was extremely frustrated with management at this hotel. My reservations were made months in advance, after careful consideration of my family needs. Traveling with my mother and father, I needed a suite with two sleeping rooms with shared living area. Upon arrival, much to my dismay, the staff had "run out," of that type room and we were given two separate rooms at opposite ends of a large building. There was no apology and upon speaking with different managers there were two completely di... Read more

I feel like I TRY to make the best out of bad days but I feel like I have to write my first poor review. We were very frustrated with this hotel and the poor management we encountered. We booked our room months in advance and showed up to find that the room we booked was "not available". We had children that required an extra bed but our new room had only one bed (the reason we booked a room with two beds). We were given several different stories by the front desk per management. The Included Breakfast was very good, the menu of the evening social left something to be desired though.

Staff was accessible and helpful. Always professional and eager to assist even when they were about to get off their shift. The food served for breakfast and evening social was very good and the staff kept the eating area clean so that you didn't have to wait for a clean area to eat. They practice safety for the pool area, closing it when the weather opposed threats to the residents.

This hotel is conveniently located - it's very close to some businesses in the Riverchase area in Birmingham. Otherwise, it's not ideal: they still have an in-door air conditioning units, the housekeeping simply swipes hair under the bathroom sink. Overall it's an okay experience considering the location and the rate.

We (4 people in our room - 2 moms and 2 kids) stayed here with a group for a national ice skating competition. The hotel was sold out for months, but they seem unprepared for the number of guests. We stayed for four nights and our room was never cleaned. We sat our overflowing trash in the hallway and had to go to the front desk for clean towels. I stayed for three nights business trip : I wanted a place where I had access to very good restaurants, and some shopping on my downtime , found this really great cigar bar, Firebird restaurant, J Alexander, bonefish Grill, all within 3 miles of the hotel ! Excellent location ! And if I wanted to shop at Publix store it in my normal size refrigerator, make my own breakfast on the two burner stove , and host a breakfast for my coworkers in my room :) can't beat that !

This hotel is truly outstanding. If you are a business traveler to Birmingham, do not overlook this hotel. It is truly a business persons location. If you are a casual traveler, such as myself, this hotel provides so much more than two wonderful beds. It provides a complete, beautiful kitchen. I will be looking to book this hotel again during my future trips to Bham. In the tradition of the Navy "BRAVO ZULU" to the hotel management and staff!

No compensation or even an apology was forthcoming from anyone except the unfortunate housekeeper. We were there with a large group of wedding guests and this happened to multiple people. I stay at many hotels every year. This one is clean and the rooms are large. They are like mini apartments. The beds are very comfortable and feel expensive. What I really like is the breakfast is better than most 'free' breakfasts.. they actually cook real eggs. The breakfast service is also very well attended. As you finish, there are multiple people keeping the tables clean and ready for the next guest. A nightly reception with free light snacks and food and drinks is a nice bonus.
