Stayed here and the view from the room port side was pretty but that's about all I can say was good about this place.. stairways we're in serious need of pressure washing, grass needed mowed, room felt very dirty and grimey, curtains were nasty, has a restraunt/bar type place attached and is open 7 days a week.. so at night there's virtually no parking. I travel EVERY WEEK, and on a budget of $65 a night only reason I stayed here was bc I was working so close to Tampa I couldn't find anyth... Read more

I've already given Hotwire a bad review because their site directed me to this disaster! I had seen previous reviews on this facility, but all were 2+yrs old. I hoped some upgrades had been made, but that was NOT the case. It was generally depressing! The floors were filthy, room was disgusting, and the pool and hot tub looked like a swamp. I had to go out and purchase supplies to clean the bathroom before I felt safe enough to use it. Not to mention the sink was dripping (on the carpet) and the... Read more

The worst hotel I've ever been to. Looks like a motel. The staff is rude and never at the front desk. I went to the desk and stood there for 30 mins before calling to get her to finally come to the front. I had stains on my sheet, dirty counter, terrible bathroom. Shower didn't work and once we got it to work it was clogged! I slept in the car the 1st night tried to get a refund for the next and without her even apologizing she denied my refund. I cancel my whole son birthday trip and went back ... Read more

This hotel is very private and it's in the perfect location away from heavy traffic. The price is very low the location is in the middle of everything and the service is excellent. This hotel is well worth it.

I normally dont criticize, but Hotels.com really dropped the ball on this one. How did this hotel make your list? This hotel should be out of business. The patrons there were miserable, and they should not have to work under those conditions. We arrived at the hotel, and the trash cans were full and smelled. Some of the lights didnt work, no hot water, when I turned water on in the shower, brown water came out. All of the scan cards stopped working the second day. They had peep in the doors and ... Room wasnt too bad, although it had no hair dryer,no coffee pot and the remote didnt work most of the time. The TERRIBLE oart was, they DOUBLE charged our debit card ($424.00) and REFUSED to make it right!!! The "Owner" was supposed to be "on his way",but after an hour of waiting,we just left. Also,NO PHONES in rooms....What motel doesnt have a phone in the room??They still owe us $318.00,the balance of the cost,as we checked out early, but with $742 dollars gone from our acct,.It sure took away fro... We were looking to extend our vacation so since all the beach fronts were booked we went in town a bit, it is a great location HOWEVER the room was awful. Their were cockroaches in the room, the microwave didn't work, the fridge didn't work so all our food spoiled, stains on the walls, floor and ceilings and no hot water. There were 5 of us in the suite and overtime anyone wanted to shower we had to ask the front desk to turn the boiler on and then at best, it was warm. The fold out couch ... Read more

We had a last minute trip to Gulf Shores and needed a last minute place to stay. This one was open and was not expensive. I saw it didn't have good reviews, but was hoping for the best. The lobby looks very nice and clean, so was the breakfast area and the pool. Our room was decent. There was a LOT of remodeling going on. A new owner has bought out the hotel and is doing complete renovation. We were able to see one of the rooms that was almost complete and it was really nice. Pets are aloud... Read more

Our room was clean when we arrived. Staff is trying even under remodeling conditions. One of the least expensive hotels during peak time. The breakfast was nothing special but attendants kept it well stocked at all times. The negatives no game room, elevator out of order, sauna out of order, laundry was out of order. When we needed items the front staff was very attentetive.

I hate writing bad reviews...but I would like to warn others. This place is pretty on the outside, filthy on the inside. We came in hoping for a relatively cheap room for the night. The front room was nice, and the lady at the desk seemed nice but overly worked. Then we saw the room. My husband was horrified. The carpets...may have never been cleaned. There were several short black hairs on the grimy toilet. The shower curtain had mold. There were old stains on the bedding. I never sat down. We ... Read more

It was 2 adults & 3 kids. It wasn't bad except they were in the middle of redoing everything. The hot tub doesn't work, we had to ask for towels every day (we had 2 queen size beds but 1 set of towels was all we got), but the staff was very friendly. It was a nice breakfast every morning. Overall, it wasn't bad. I'd like to stay again when they weren't doing renovations.

The picture that is shown is not what it looks like at all. The front desk seemed to have trouble getting everything together and the two men argued with one another the entire time in front of my mother and I. Our room was one with the two queen beds. It looked clean at first but after walking inside, the carpet was dirty. We had no towels at all in the bathroom. About two of the electrical outlets did not work. And worst of all, there was a puddle of urine in the bathroom floor. I or any of my... Read more

Our recent stay at this hotel was a complete disaster. The staff at the front desk was nice and gave us a room, but then the maid jumped in and stated that room had a leak and the AC units was flooding the room and needed repairs, so they gave us another room. We got in the room and there was no hair dryer. The towel rack was coming off the wall. We did have clean towels. When we got ready for bed the AC worked great and went front desk and got extra blankets. When putting on the blanket on... Read more

We arrived on July 1, 2016 and on July 2nd we found another motel to stay in, unfortunately we had to spend another night, the room was disgusting, no phone, blow dryer, fridge or microwave, we asked for clean towels and were told none were available even though we saw a whole stack in the laundry room, pulled back the bead spread and there was a full un-opened pack of cigerettes! Walls were patched but never painted over, was nothing like it was the last time we stayed there 4 years ago which ... Read more

Bugs in room. Popcorn beside bed. Tiles from wall laying in floor. Food in Fridge. Sink has a toothbrush and other items in sink drain. Outside grass is high. Trash everywhere. Really would be a nice place if staff would take pride in their work. These rooms reflect on you as housekeepers and maintenance. I am a former housekeeper/ inspector/ manager. By the way my bed smelled fresh. Thumbs up to Laundry crew.

We have 4 kids all under age 10. We were looking at rooms right on the beach but saved over $600 for a week staying here. We were not in the room except to sleep and shower. Walmart is across the road, Walgreens is on the corner and also very close to the zoo, Waterville, food and ice cream and about 1 mile from the public beach. The hotel looks old from the outside but it's been updated some on the inside, it was very nice. The previews kinda had me nervous but it turned out great.

Do not stay here! We never had maid service come to our room our whole visit, never had clean towels and front desk was rude when we asked for clean towels and maid service! We were also charged TWICE for our stay & when we called the manager after looking at our bank statement when we got back home, she hung up on us twice and refused to give us their corporate number! Worst stay ever!!!! No clean linens! It was not clean! Elevator didn't work the whole time which for me is fine but my husband is in a wheelchair and it was a bad experience. We asked to be moved to another room and management wouldn't even talk to us, as we were stuck on the 2nd floor for hours. We were supposed to be credited one night stay and they charged us anyway and for double the amount of one night stay. No carpet in rooms, only Pergo floors. Shower curtain about to fall down. Hair dryer glued to the sink basin. Hall carpet to room was held down with white tape. Breakfast substandard. Furniture very worn with table leg almost worn through due to chair sliding into it. Location hard to locate from the street unless you knew it was there. No large sign. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

I want to start by saying that the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location is really good for a hotel at the beach that is not on the beach. It is across the street from a shopping center that has great dining and a grocery store. On the down side, the rooms were not very well maintained. I was disappointed in the state of repair, though the price was real good for the area. There was a mini-fridge, microwave, hair dryer, and a safe in the room.

If you are planning a family trip and you have any type of standards I highly recommend staying somewhere else! Apparently this hotel must be under new management because my wife and I stayed at this facility 3 years ago and it was much more manageable! Needless to say, this last trip we discovered this hotel has lost its touch. Towels were not clean, pool dirty, wouldn't dare let my kids get in the hot tub, room had an odor.
