The Redmont has been revived and is without a doubt the best hotel in Birmingham. The entire staff was friendly without any issues. This is not the Redmont, but a vastly improved modern version with some of the hotel's historical charm.

From the moment I pulled up, the valets had smiles on their faces and a hand out the help. They double as bellhops and by the time I turned around the cart was at my car and my luggage was on it! Smiles from all staff whether I was being serviced personally by them or not. The room was clean, the essentials are there, quite minimalist and simple - it was lovely! I think one of the most impressive scenes was my first morning there. When I came out of the elevator, there were (all levels of) staff... Read more

The renovated Redmont is a great hotel, beautiful, cool, comfortable with great food and drinks in the bar. Breakfast is terrific if a bit slow from the kitchen. It was great with two kids under 3. The best part of the stay, however is the terrific staff. Every time we came and went there was a friendly greeting and offers of help. The fitness area was spacious and well set up. The rooms are small but typical of this kind of vintage hotel.

This property is immaculate and the restoration of this hotel was great. You can visibly recognize the investment that was put into establishing this property. The hotel has about a 100 year history but the remodel maintains that history while incorporating it into the 21st century. The service was amazing! The service was not only accentuated with Southern Hospitality but it was one of excellence and pride. The accommodation and service is one that you normally find in 5-Star properties. Perfec... The food and drinks at the bar and restaurant were wonderful. I recommend the carpaccio, the lamb, and crab and sweet pea ravioli. The bartender was great! They were very hospitable; Eric ran down the street to get my husband a paper. The young man at the front desk recommended a music venue and printed information for us. We had a wonderful time and will return. Rooftop bar was not open yet, but hopefully we can partake on our return visit.

My wife and I booked this Hotel for one evening . We were attending a concert in Birmingham , and didn't want to drive home that evening . As soon as we arrived at the hotel the Valet helped us with parking options and gave us some great advice . We checked in really efficiently , and proceeded to our room on the 8th Floor . The building is very old , but the decor and cleanliness were impeccable . The room was beautiful , bathroom and showers were clean and spacious . I will be staying he... Read more

Second stay at this historic down town hotel that has gone through a modernization and for the most part my stays have been pleasant. Rooms are comfortable with nice bathrooms and decent amenities on a par with a full service Hilton. Bar area is small but well stocked and service from valet, front desk and bar all polite and prompt. The one train wreck is their breakfast service that needs a serious upgrade in attentiveness and delivery time - waited 40 minutes for some french toast - it was not... Read more

Remember the scene when Vinny is staying at the hotel next to stockyards and train tracks? This is a very charming old hotel with excellent customer service. I was on 8th floor. The beep-beep sound of trucks around 5:30, followed by the whistle of a train around 6, followed by police sirens around 6:30. Breakfast at the restaurant is VERY slow and disorganized. Ask for a high floor and allow for a long breakfast.

I'm so glad we picked this hotel in Birmingham! The staff was so friendly and the rooms were lovely. The cafe in the hotel was pretty small but adequate for grabbing a quick breakfast and coffee. The hotel is perfectly situated downtown for walking to the Civil Rights Museum and restaurants.

Stayed for a business trip. Had a late check in so I ate at the bar. Enjoyed a really well prepared grilled seafood salad. Hotel decor and meeting rooms were lovely. Guest rooms were well kept and the bed pillows and comforter made for a very cozy sleep. The only issue I had was with the shower -- mine did not drain very quickly, so I was standing in soapy water till the end. Friendly staff. Walking distance to the historic business district.

The Redmont is centrally located in downtown Birmingham and has been totally redone in a glam art deco style. The decor is elegant and formal, the rooms clean and the restaurants good- The Harvest and Cafe 2101. They have a small but nice and clean fitness center with treadmills, a stair climber and a bike as well as free weights. The rooms are on the smaller side but done well and the bathrooms were totally redone with rain showers. Because it is an older building the walls are a bit thin, ... Read more

What a great hotel. The hotel has been remodeled to include all the modern conveniences we want yet has not lost its charm. The staff is welcoming, helpful and very friendly. The character of the hotel made me feel like I was transported back into the 40s or 50s. I will be back the next time I am in Birmingham,

The Redmont is a first class, fully renovated hotel with an excellent bar and restaurant (Harvest). The hotel was originally owned by the Stiles family, who owned numerous hotels in the South, but chose to live in the penthouse of the Redmont. Original railings, photographs, paintings, ornaments, lamps, and furniture have been perfectly blended into bright, cool colors with modern, luxurious appointments, bathrooms and bedding for a delightful respite with beautifulviews of downtown Birmingham... My husband and I live in Chelsea but wanted to stay downtown for a night for our anniversary. The Redmont is in a great location and beautiful. The chandelier in the main lobby is original and gorgeous! The rooms were very spacious and we were on the 14th floor so got a good view of the city. All of the staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Definitely a great choice if you are staying downtown for business or pleasure. Only a 5 min drive to Uptown and BJCC.

We were at the hotel this past weekend for the Magic City Classic. The hotel is very classy, staff were friendly and attentive to our needs. We had a great breakfast, the prices were very reasonable for such a nice hotel. We truly enjoyed our stay. I especially like the fact that I ordered a food delivery and a member of the staff actually walked the delivery person to my room and just didn't let him come directly to my room, made us feel very safe !

We found our family Disney vacation cut short by the approach of Hurricane Matthew. The in order to get out of Orlando before the airport shut down we had to spend a night in Birmingham (en route to OKC). The Redmont had an available room and looked to be exactly the type of modernized historical hotel we prefer to stay when traveling. We were met with a warm greeting from the bellhop out front and that was only the beginning of the great service we received. We requested a crib/play pen for our... Read more

I was extremely excited to stay in this hotel before we got there. By the end, I was sort of ready to go home. The hotel was beautiful, and very well maintained. It was in an ok area of town it seemed like, although there were a few homeless ladies down the road on the sidewalk. The room was great, other than the bathroom. The shower did not drain at all, so ended up just making a small lake in the bathroom every night, which sucked. Also, it was super weird and inconvenient to hear someone vac... Read more

The hotel is very nice, great location, wonderful staff and the room was so comfortable. My wife & I watched the Veteran's Day Parade from the sidewalk in front of the hotel - a very special experience. We had dinner at Harvest, the food and staff were wonderful - we shared the lamb meatballs - I had the Grouper, my wife had the steak salad for entre's. Later, we went to the roof top bar - the scenery was amazing. Everything was just really beyond expectations. We loved it and will return again.

Stayed here for 7 nights over 2 weeks for business. Nice renovation of an older property, but there are some finish details that need attention - no shelf in the shower, some poor finish work in bathroom, broken drapery pull, etc. The staff is young and very friendly, but in need of additional training. The rooftop bar is fab, but you can't charge to your room, so be sure to bring cash or plastic if you go up for a drink. Don't use the valet parking - it's $22 per day, and you can park in the... I will say that the manager was good - accommodating when we pointed out some problems and tried to make it better for us by giving us breakfast vouchers ($15/each). Newly renovated, very clean and very functional Redmont Hotel has been a nice refuge. The room (for a kingsize bed) is spacious, the bathroom is laid out well. When we've stayed in places like this before, they've had an annoying layer of hipsterism. The Redmont really feels like it works for several types of clientel, including us (adults).
