We chose this hotel because of the convenient location and the fact that they allow pets. We often stay in La Quintas and are usually satisfied with what is offered. This inn did not meet the usual La Quinta standards. The carpet was filthy but this may not have been a housekeeping problem but rather the quality of the vacuums these ladies were using. The staff was generally very nice and attempted to be helpful. The breakfast was totally grab 'n go, pre-packaged items - not the usually "Br... Read more

This is a great location for scouting schools. It is a little scary at night as it seems to have a lot of partiers on the weekend but it is clean and a good price for a place to sleep. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

I really enjoyed my stay at this La Quinta. It is located among shopping and great restaurants. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to please us. The rooms were clean and fresh smelling. I will stay again.

Everything was ready upon check in, clean, courteous and nice. Room was very nice, had an elevator! and parking was easy in and out. This is one of the better La Quinta hotel stops.--Thanks!--John Jerkins

Rooms were clean with updated decor and furniture. Lots of electrical outlets and even USB ports, Staff was pleasant and helpful. Even our Duchsantd Moocha enjoyed her stay. This motel is highly recommended.

This is a great place to stay in Birmingham. The location is perfect for all the events and places we go to Birmingham to see. Staff is very friendly and hotel is clean. Only negative is that the toilets flush very slowly ; have experienced it at other LaQuinta hotels so it must be the system throughout the chain. No problems to date, but you always hold your breath until it flushes:)

Located close to the interstate (less than 1 mile). Area is comprised of various businesses and fast food restaurants. Room access is through a corridor in the center of the hotel (not outside). Breakfast is rather basic with few items for those on special diets (e.g., low carbohydrate). Good place to stay if traveling with your pets. Overall good experience but nothing out of the ordinary.

So we first tried to stay at the Days Inn down the road (a very frustrating experience) and were rather exasperated when we arrived. The lady at the front desk was absolutely amazing and understanding and worked with us until we were more than happy. We stayed on the second floor the rooms were nice and the beds comfortable. The room and bathroom were very clean and they allow dogs with no extra charge, a huge plus since I always travel with my dog. Even though it is a dog friendly hotel it didn... Read more

We had an amazing stay with no real issues. Check-in was speedy and the staff was very friendly. The tub in our room drained slowly, but that was nothing to be upset about because everything else was perfect. The breakfast hit the spot, too. There were waffles, bagels, toast, muffins, cereal and juice. I have not one single complaint.

I always like to stay at LQ and i have stayed here before and never had a problem with my stay but this time. I had to go and buy cleaning supplies to clean my room the order was Terrible smell like someone had peed all over the floor. and i told the front desk but they said they were full and nothing was done about it. I feel something should have been fixed about that. For me to have to wake and and go to sleep and mask the smell every night I stayed was not a good look. This location is a gre... Read more

Bathroom was not working properly; toilet would not flush properly. There was mildew in the bathtub. The TV was not working; it cut in and out. The Wifi was not working; it cut off and on. We only stayed the one night and were exhausted when we left the next morning. The children in the next room kept messing with the door between the rooms. Next time I will pay more money to stay at a nicer hotel where we can relax and sleep.

Wonderful staff. Old building and worn furnishings. Fairly clean. Appeals mostly to workmen on contract in the area, or transiting. Safe and adequate. This is an excellent value for the various discounts offered but it might not be the place for an extended stay.

We really enjoyed our stay and the next time we are in Birmingham, we will definitely be staying here. Employees were courteous, and respectful. Breakfast was nice. It was quiet and comfortable. Ice machine was in a convenient location and the fact that you had to have a room key to get in any door except the front was a wonderful idea.

We had to book this hotel at the last minute. It was priced better than the surrounding hotels and we were very surprised at how nice the rooms were for the price! There were several fast food and sit down restaurants within walking distance which was very convenient for us. We left early so did not get to experience the breakfast. I would definitely stay here again.

Read this wgole review becuase every word i am about to say is very important. This is the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. My church and i stayed here for motion confrence. The check in was fine but the probelems started before i got into the elevator. They stored matresses next to the vending machine which obviously shows they dont care. When i went into the room it was dark and smelt. we opened the curtains and the window had some fog looking thing soo bad we could write our names on. The b... Read more

Upon arriving at the hotel I was greeted by the front desk clerk that had a charming personality. She had my reservation ready when I got there. All I had to do was check I and go to my assigned room. If you are in this area I recommend this hotel.

Decent location, not difficult to get to. Small cramped entry way and breakfast area. Room was subpar and bathroom was dirty (toilet had difficulty flushing, too). Beds were okay and the A/C kept up well, thankfully. If you can, stay at one of the other hotels close by. There are many to choose from.

It is easy to use the rewards points, very reasonable the number of points needed for a free stay. Some big name chains offer hat but they do not fullfilled what they promised. And they offer the best feather pillows!!!!!! LQ rooms, service, staff are excellent.

Best customer service. The TV would not work and the manager came and fixed it herself. When I went out they ask me how everything was and if I needed anything to let them know. Most places don't do that

I've learned again that the LaQuinta "Inn" is a lower tier hotel, and it's best to pay the extra $10 and look for an "inn & Suites". Located on an extremely busy section of 280, the rooms at the "Inn" are a little smaller, a little less decorated, and lack fridge & microwave. The beds are comfortable, there is plenty of desk space for work, and a chair to relax in (although it would be nice if there was a light near-by to read the paper). On the down-side, the showers are small, and you'll be... Read more

The area was great! Plenty of things to do and eat nearby. The hotel was decent, and the room itself was acceptable. The next morning when I tried to shower, the temperature of the water was COLD. I would accept that from a 1 star hotel, but after what I paid I at least expect somewhat warm water!! I might stay here again if I was guaranteed warm water. Or at least a discount :/

Hotel is definitely aging and in desperate need of remodeling. I was afraid to step on carpet in bare feet as it looked like it hadn't been deep cleaned in years. Ceiling had spots where texture was falling off and the bathroom had mold in the shower. Windows were presently fogged/stained and the hallways smelled of cigarette smoke. Hotel was pretty loud, there were people wandering around a good part of the night. I'm pretty sure my 10yr son's car was much cleaner and should have slept the... Read more

DO NOT STAY HERE. Our first room had a horrible odor. The next room HAD BED BUGS! We had to throw everything away! There were ROACHES on the walls in the dining area and hallway. Even the maid told us the place was FILTHY when we complained. WE HAVE A LAWYER TO GET DAMAGES PAID FOR OUR ITEMS ! HORRIBLE! Bad attitude staff.

10 for 10 on all aspects of this hotel, with the exception of their breakfast. Too many sweet items for breakfast. Scrambled eggs and ham would go a long way to make this a "fav" hotel chain. All La Quintas need to improve their Breakfast experience, or just not serving breakfast would be better.

Traveling with your pet is always a bit challenging, particularly when you want to stay in nice clean hotels. I've been very pleased with the La Quinta chain because we've always found them to be clean and accommodating for pet owners. This hotel was clean and the front desk very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was pretty ordinary, (bagels, cereal, fruit and pre-fab waffles.) My only complaint would be that the area surrounding the hotel had very little grassy plots (ok, well... none.) ... As soon you enter in the elevator a strong smell to roach killer which it's not good news. No fridge in the room, mattress shows a lot of use. I could feel it. Breakfast not so good, bad coffee, two hard boiled eggs and one of them was bad. Suggest a waffle machine like one Comfort Inn uses. Fresh waffles would a plus. Good point to this "La Quinta" is the soft towels, good to feel them after the shower.

Over priced for the accommodations- not even mini fridge in room. Rooms were decent, clean, but room had maintenance issues- bathroom shower knob was damaged and hard to get to stay with hot water. The staff was friendly but just seemed to be onsite. Some guests during stay were using drugs in parking lot. No issues with damage or theft just seemed to be group of kids but unsure.

I gave four stars because the front desk person was very apologetic, accommodating and polite after my discovering the dirty, hairy sheets in my room. The room was actually immaculately clean with the exception of the sheets. The room we were moved to was the exact opposite. Clean sheets, sub par cleaning of surfaces and bathroom.. I just brought in cleaning supplies of my own and disinfected everything myself. I didn't really like that there were weird-looking people everywhere outside either, ... Read more

I loved the hotel. I loved the prices, atmosphere, workers. My only problem was my hotel room bathroom was stopped up and I had to stand on the rim (both sides) of the tub to shower so that I would not step in the previously ran water to shower and the tub was half way filled with dirty water. It took me an hour to get dressed and out, and it still was not drained. I also do not like the beds, they're slightly hard.

This is my first time being in a La Quinta Inn period and I am extremely disappointed. No good cable(my aunts are literally standing in front of the tv, flicking channels, complaining about how there is no 'good tv' LMAO!!!). The floors are hollow, scared I may fall through. On the bright side, its secluded, very quiet, and the lobby is beautiful, organized, quiet, and CLEAN!!

If you are traveling with dogs this is a great place to stay/ The breakfast was awful though. The carpets were dirty however everything else in the room and bathroom was clean. The majority of La Quinta's allow dogs to stay free and this was the case with this one.

We were pleasantly surprised by our visit to the Laquinta. Our room was on the main floor near the door. (our mistake) the door kept me up at night each time someone left or entered. The management would do their guests a favor if their employees were told to park on the Residence Inn side of the building as the parking w luggage from that side is a hike. But the room had new carpet and bedding! It had a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The bathroom tile was from the 1990s but was clean... Read more

When we arrived, there was the overwhelming smell of smoke everywhere. The front desk staff was helpful and polite. Upon entering the hotel room, the ceiling had holes in it, the shower curtain was not big enough to cover the shower, and was mildewed and moldy. There was very little water pressure. You could smell the mildew in the bathroom. The sink never ran hot water, no matter how long it ran. The bed spreads were so old they had snags, holes, and runs in the covers.
