I am an Embassy fan. I especially like the chains' design scheme this hotel follows. 6 or 7 floors all looking into an interior tropical public area. A little noisy but the suite's bedroom being in the rear of the suite with a door closes it off, so no problem. My main issue was the apparent age and obvious length of time since a hotel update. The suite décor is very dated, including the swag chain lamp above the desk, very 70s. The furniture was old and uncomfortable. The bedroom has a sink in... Read more

We were with a group so we got a reduced rate, still, the taxes for 3 nights were as much as a room at a lesser hotel. 75$ just for Room TAXES! We had one issue that was taken care of quickly and efficiently. Rooms are quiet and sleep came easily, of course I was beat from riding motorcycle all day.

Having to go to UAB may not be pleasant but the accommodations and friendly staff makes the trip from Florida a pleasure. Embassy Suites has always been our first choice. The special rates for those who are attending the medical center is another plus.

My room was noisy, the pool was icky, the hot tub was spooky, the breakfast was monotonous, the evening meet and greet was nice, but the STAFF MADE UP FOR ALL THIS!! They are by far the best staff EVER. The front desk staff couldn't have been nicer, more helpful, competent and welcoming. The bar and breakfast staff were so nice and chatty. They always had a quick smile and pleasant comment. Wow. I'm so impressed.

This hotel was awful. Dirty. Dated. Our room smelled like mold. A huge pile of dirty linens (from other rooms) sat outside our door on the floor for 24 hours. Everything was worn out. Our bathroom was especially gross. The toilet seat was actually warped and stained on the underside. The shower ceiling looked like it had some kind of leak with mold growing. There was toothpaste spots all over the mirror. The couch was nasty and just gross. Everywhere you looked needed updating or clean... Read more

The hotel was great but not having a chair in the BR made it difficult. The 2nd BR needed 2 beds. We travel with children + babysitter. It was necessary to have kids sleeping on sofa bed so we could not use the LR To sit & watch tv and had no place to do so in BR's.

We gave this hotel a try, as we had stayed here for a wedding many years ago, and it was close to our business meeting the next day. Upon arrival, rooms were not ready, due to their high occupancy the night before. Room was musty with outdated furniture and dim lighting. Grungy. Staff was courteous, until the next morning, when we headed to the complimentary breakfast a few minutes late. We were turned away, which I understand, but the staff was very rude. We were told by one member of the staff... Read more

I stayed at this hotel last year and was not happy with the cleanliness but decided to give it another try due to the the fact that I needed a "suite". I am sorry that I did. We checked in at 9:00 pm and there was a very long line. I gave my identification to the desk clerk and informed them that the room was booked with Hilton points. They assured me everything was fine. As you can read in the Title, that's all good what I can tell about this hotel. Pro: Double hhonors point if you spend a nights here. Staff's try to do the best but they has a very limited options. Contra: Boring breakfasts, they have a grill plate but they just eggs make on it. (If you ask they make a pancake- the most tasteless of the world) Sometimes no service in the room. We used to stay in this hotel 2 or 3 times a year when we came to Birmingham, and it was always great! However, it has been at least 5 years since we stayed here. BIG disappointment! My nightly rate was a little higher than the surrounding hotels, but I figured it would be worth it because of the nightly reception and made to order breakfast. NOPE! I've stayed at this property many times in the past and had let some of the little things pass. I guess I finally opened my eyes as I spent some time in room this time in stead of just sleeping and getting out first thing in the morning. The couch and Every chair were very stained by Something. The location of the toilet is totally inconvenient and I don't think I will ever say here again. FYI - I am a lifetime Diamond with Hilton, which means over 1,000 nights.

I usually visit Embassy Suites because of the double rooms as a standard and the amenities. This is an older building but the negative reviews I found to me were nitpicking. This had a very hospitable staff, great breakfast which you expect from embassy and it's in a quiet part of the city, sort of tucked away. Even though the building is older it's clean and taken care of.

Great room and hotel; breakfast staff does not seem to know how to ensure enough food is prepared/served. Food lines were extremely long and the bacon/grits/potatoes dishes were never refilled in the 45 mins we sat there. We had a 2 bedroom king suite on the 8th floor. Unlike other reviewers, we found the room to be clean and comfortable. We had comfortable beds, a huge table for eating, and even the sleeper sofa was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and the kids enjoyed the pool. My only complaint is that the fridge was a little small and we could not fit much in it. I would definitely stay here again. The staff was friendly and attentive.

We've stayed at this hotel many times over the last 10 years. This trip, however, was just plain nasty. We rented two rooms for a weekend visit. We were greeted by a 2 inch long cockroach! Changed rooms, of course, but in our second room and in the fitness area, there were several dead ones. The manager was apologetic, but not at all concerned. Needless to say, nothing was reflected on our full cost room charge. The hall ways were cluttered with food trays. The drapes were filthy and the... Read more

As others have mentioned, this hotel needs updating. It is totally average. Not the best hotel, but also not the worst. The front desk staff was less than cordial. However, the woman who cooked our breakfasts both days was friendly and pleasant. The breakfast was good, and the cocktail hour snacks were good. The room was OK. My a/c worked fine, but the furniture was not that comfortable. Everything just has a bit of a shabby appearance. It is nicely located a little "out of the way" (of... Read more

I planned this stay knowing that my family and I would be concluding a grueling day of drive. Embassy Suites in Kansas City has been a great place to stay; friendly people, great "happy hour", great breakfast, very nice pool and hot tub. This Embassy Suites gets rated down because the "happy hour" food was non-existent and the hot tub wasn't working. And, most importantly, the hot tub wasn't checked by "engineering" until someone complained. By the time "engineering" got around to checking it,... Read more

Overall this was an average hotel stay for us. Our room was spacious and clean, but this hotel is outdated and "worn" and could use a facelift. The location was good and we felt safe. Complimentary breakfast was not the quality I've remembered when staying at other Embassy Suites. The hotel is great. Just watch out for the restaurant. With those prices, you don't even get "fast food" service. Any issues with the actual hotel get prompt service and the staff are friendly (for the hotel). The partnership with Ruth Chris Steakhouse should really be evaluated due to their staff was the only disappointment. Overall, the location is really good and the staff (of the Hotel) are top tier.

The staff were very gracious and I feel sorry that they probably are the targets of displeased guests due to the really dated and worn accommodations. This hotel was a great value, was clean and will definitely be my go to place from now on! Everything in the room was clean and new! The only thing I would change is I would offer more food at the managers reception and more staff and better food at breakfast. The value was SUPER!

Great value for the money. Beds are comfortable and rooms clean. A cooked to order breakfast, complimentary drinks, and snacks make this hotel worth the stay. The 2 rooms work well for families, and 2 tv's!

Employees at every level were professional and very accommodating. It is amazing to have employees on the same page of excellence. Employees appeared to be natural rather than following a script. Where do you find so many great employees? Someone is providing excellent training for the staff.
