I really like staying in this hotel last weekend. The room was really clean and their staff, especially the housekeeper Jasmine, was very pleasant. Great job. See you again Memorial weekend. When your in Birmingham this is a must stay place.

A centralized location I can always count on in my business travels to the Birmingham area. Not far from every hospital in town. Always impressed with the level of customer service! Gary, who is practically a Bistro magician, always has my business!

First of all, the parking is a hassle if you going and coming. Second, it's a ripoff with the hotel profiting on top of the garage owner. Third if you want a hot shower, it took 10 minutes for the water to warm up so don't be in a hurry. Fourth the property has the feel of an old hospital or something. Business folks stay elsewhere!

I really like this little hotel. Everyone has been very nice and helpful. Parking kinda stinks b/c it's so congested from UAB, but they make it as easy as it can be by validating your tickets. The star of the service is from Gary Richard down in the little cafe downstairs. SERVICE is exemplified through this young man. He was cooking and cleaning and checking out all by himself...and with a HUGE SMILE...and the food was very good. I wish there were more people like him in this world. He wil... Read more

Stayed here twice for the convenience of the UAB attachment, will be staying here in the future whenever visiting Birmingham. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating to guest's needs. Requested a handicap accessible room for my mother, and got the perfect room steps away from the elevator. Can't thank Torie ,at the front desk, enough for the perfect room; and absolutely can't thank Lesia, at the bistro, enough for the wonderful breakfasts and perfect night caps.

Great place to grab a bite or have a drink and catch a game. Each booth has its own tv, and there are a couple of larger tvs mounted on the wall. I have visited the Bistro several times in the past few weeks as I am in town due to a family member in the hospital. I was fortunate enough to find this place as a haven to get away for a few minutes from the difficult situation at the children's hospital. Each time I have visited, I have had great service from either Gary or Lesia. With the NBA ... Read more

My husband and I are staying here due to my kidney transplant and the staff has gone above and beyond for us. Could not ask for better people. Gary in the bistro is a wonderful very personable person. He has taken great care of us and he is just a wonderful person to talk to and absolutely loves his job and meeting new people. I would recommend coming to the bistro in the hotel just to carry on a conversation with him. We can't say enough about Karla. She has been taking care of our room from ... Read more

Extremely friendly staff. Tammi was very sweet and helpful during my check-in at the hotel. She recommended a great restaurant during my trip that was the best food I ever had. On time wake up calls and a great stay. Gary n Bistro was very helpful during my stay as well. I would recommend people to come here simply based on my experience with Tammi and Gary. The room was clean and service was excellent.

This hotel is well located, with plenty of eating spots nearby. But you have to pay $10 a day it park in its lot. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are spacious. The staff is so-so. The tub has low sides so seniors can easily get into the shower. The air conditioning comes on and off, so it blocks noise from outside sometimes but not others. Since the hotel is near the hospital, you'll hear plenty of sirens and it is also near the stadium, so we heard loud fireworks last night, which my hus... Read more

I checked in after a long trip and was greeted by Torie at the front desk. She could not have been nicer or more accommodating. She answered all my questions about directions to my next day meeting, gave me two bottles of water and some candy to welcome me to the hotel. The room was immaculate and the food at the Bistro was excellent.

Very comfortable room. Just what I am looking for. A place to get work done and sleep well. The bed is great. TV is great. Plenty of places to plug in. Gary and Lesia down in the restaurant/lounge area are outstanding. Corey and Kendra at the front desk are special. All other staff I have communicated with are top notch.

Because of a medical emergency we found ourselves in Birmingham for an unknown period of time. The rooms are everything you expect from the Courtyard Marriott. In addition to a small fridge in the room there is a washer & dryer at the end of the hallway & microware next to the ice machine. But the best part of the hotel is the people who work there! Tracy & Chris at the front desk were very helpful in giving us the information needed & were flexible with our departure date. Tammi keep our ro... Read more

Courtyard is one of my favorite hotels and this one didn't disappoint. The rooms were nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They had a clean workout room. The only down side to my stay was the location. Being downtown and near a hospital we heard sirens and vehicles quite frequently. Other than the external noise (which isn't their fault), this was a wonderful hotel.

The staff here are extremely nice and caring from the front dest, housekeeping, to the bistro. Go see Gary in the bistro, he is always there lol. He makes the best drinks and can cook too! Who knew Marriott had their own drink mix...you must try the blueberry one. Gary will know what you're talking about. So rather you are staying at the Marriott, visiting family or friends at UAB, or in the neighborhood, go enjoy the Bistro. You won't be disappointed!

Staff was great, rooms were great, proximity to hospital also great. You basically take a right out of the lobby and you'll walk into elevator area where you go up to hospital entrance. There is also a gas station right behind hotel in case you forgot to pack some things. Hotel shop very limited with what they have. Price was very affordable as well.

I can't say enough about the staff here - my mother has stayed here more than 25 nights in the past 2 months with my father being in the hospital next door - Gary, who works in the Bistro has taken exceptional care of my mother during this time, going above and beyond his job description to comfort her and make sure she has everything she needs. The front desk staff and Manager have also been exceptional to work with. Congratulations to the Mariott for assembling such a stellar staff.

Unfortunately, I had to make the drive to UAB because my dad had been admitted to the hospital. As night grew closer it became apparent that I'd need a place to stay with easy access to the hospital and after asking around I was told that some areas were dangerous to be in after dark. Since I had no idea about the surrounding areas - and particularly after one person told me three times not to find myself in some spots on 20th street after dark - I decided to take a chance and walk a few steps f... A very helpful young man named Chester made my stay an excellent one. After a long day of driving, I was struggling to get to my room with a cart full of luggage. My husband travels frequently for business. When I can, I join him for a few days especially if he's in a city I've never been to before. He was at this hotel almost the entire month of June and I came for a long weekend. I stay at courtyards when traveling for business, rarely am I dissatisfied. Price is usually good, bistro great for breakfast (not that it is bad for lunch, but usually have lunch out), rooms are comfortable, and staff friendly. The courtyard at UAB B'ham is no exception. It is connected to UAB, nice selection of local restaurant nearby as well as chains. I usually do the mobile checking, arrived room and key was ready and waiting. Great choice for business travel!

This Courtyard is located in downtown Birmingham with a connected walkway to UAB. The hotel also shares the parking garage with UAB, which makes parking a breeze. I was greeted by very friendly staff as I entered the doors and they had encouraging words for us. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone with family members hospitalized at UAB or otherwise. The lobby and restaurant bar area are quite modern and nice, the rooms were what you would expect from this chain - clean, airy, and fairly contemporary. There were a few little issues (toilet was very slow, thermostat was placed at an angle on the wall and not patched), but there was nothing that prevented a good night's sleep, and I felt safe and comfortable and clean. Parking is an additional fee that they add on to the bill, but they allow for unlimited in/out. This is good, as this is not a... Read more
