We have stayed here probably... 10 times now... in the last 2 years. They always take care of us and we never have any complaints. We get the same 2 rooms every time. The breakfast is wonderful and they always have cookies at the front desk or coffee bar. The indoor pool and hot tub are nice, especially in the winter!!! The beds and bathrooms are the best around! So clean and modern. We love it here. It's one of our favorite "get aways" when we want a night out without our child. And when we do ... Read more

Great value for your money. Indoor heated pool and hottub. Clean rooms. I've had my share of bad traveling experiences but I felt safe and comfortable staying alone with my two kids. Will definitely be a returning customer

We are just passing thru and needed a basic bed for our family of 3 so we booked this hotel close to the interstate. The location was perfect, it was easy to find when we were arriving about 9 pm. All we want was a clean room. We opened the room to a strong musty smell. It was like the carpet was shampooed but was not allowed to dry so the room has a stale smell. We were tired and ready to crash so we didn't bother to ask to change to another room. Plus we traveled with another family and their... Read more

The air conditioner knob was broken so we couldn't adjust it. The carpet had a black streak in it The tub was chipped in numerous places. The remote for the TV was missing the plastic part to hold the batteries in. I gave it to the manager on duty and asked for a replacement first thing in the morning. When we returned in the evening a different manager on duty gave me the same remote back. An hour later they found a replacement. Would not stay here again.

Great location, new hotel, lots of potential. But when u walk around there is litter all over the place, hallways, stairs, grounds. Now the room was nice, which was actually surprising. Large bathroom, very clean room. Its appears to me its a management issue, the attendants/employees just sit around when someone should be cleaning the grounds.

Location is the best thing, It needs to be shut down if they don't make any changes ASAP. It's just plain disgusting. Roaches by the pool area, toilet overflow, carpet dirty, needed towels, had to wait until next day when someone did the laundry. the clerk that checked guests in was the same person that cooked breakfast, which I didn't eat , couldn't trust it. clerk assigned me a dirty room, had to switch rooms which wasn't too much better. Even though the room rates are reasonable, which is wha... Read more

This hotel needs some major changes. The rooms were dirty, flies everywhere, and the rooms felt wet. I'm pretty sure the manager just had friends and family staying there because there were kids in and out of the staff area all morning. The breakfast was under stocked, dirty and I'm not sure the man restocking food even worked there. No one had uniforms or name tags. Super unprofessional and I will never stay at these hotels again.

Do not stay here. This hotel is very poorly run and the staff is very unprofessional. We arrived late and when we arrived there was water all over the lobby floor where the pool had overflowed and the rooms were even more disgusting. We had dirty carpet and our floor had hairballs all over it. Its clearly not being cleaned between guest stays. The breakfast area the next morning was a disaster, we ended up leaving and going somewhere else for breakfast. There was no one attending anything ... Read more

Not a bad place to stay. Newer property, close to food and Walmart. Good, well-stocked breakfast, with eggs, sausage, and biscuits and gravy. Waffle iron is also there, along with cereals, fruit, and plenty of strong coffee. Room was above average, clean, open and not cramped.

The employees at this hotel were very unhappy to be there and their attitudes and facial expressions showed it. I also felt that the location of the indoor pool was a bit disturbing. I was traveling with my elderly mother and I was concerned because there was water on the floor in the area where the pool was located. We had to walk though the water to get to our room and I was concerned that she was going to fall.

We came in for a family event that stretched across 5 days. Our room was well-prepared and it was a nice bonus to see a real porcelain tub with granite surround. The breakfast was included and adequate (nothing special). I was a bit annoyed by the smell of smoke in the halls, a result of some rooms on our floor being smoking rooms. There was a mini-fridge and microwave in the room as well. A couple of more annoyances: the only ice machine that worked was on the first floor and the TV inclu... Read more

We arrived to check in but decided to cancel our reservation. The hotel is run down, smells bad and is filthy. The worst part of it are the unattended children running loose. From other reviews it looks like they are the staff's children. If you are looking to stay in Bessemer, keep looking.

I do not normally do reviews. But, this experience was so bad that I felt compelled to write one. We were a little concerned when we walked in to the lobby to find filthy floors. After checking in, we walked into the room to find closet doors off the track and leaning against the wall, toilet paper in the toilet and after flushing it once found it to be clogged, used soap in the shower, bed clothes that were very wrinkled and appeared to be left over from the previous guest and filth all over... Good rooms, large bathroom, large breakfast area, nice pool and hot tub, exercise equipment, meeting rooms, nice staff. Small disappointments on the 2nd stay; TV remote would not work, nor did replacing the batteries or replacing the remote. Someone had stolen the toilet paper dispenser "roller" from the bathroom. The room REEKED of cigarette smoke; the whole hotel is supposed to be "non smoking" rooms only.

This Country Inns & Suites was a little less expensive than some of them, so we thought we were give it a try. It was comfortable enough for sleeping, but was a little skimpy in some ways. No cookies, for one thing! Would we stay here again? Maybe, maybe not.

I spend 200+ nights a year at hotels from the Carlson Group. This hotel may be the worst that I have ever stayed at. I was dissatisfied in August but thought I should give this hotel a second chance. That was a mistake. The room was dirty, there was mold on the bathroom ceiling, the shower handles were corroded, the bathroom floor looked like it had not been cleaned in weeks. The carpet was sticky and soiled. I am not sure when this hotel had its last visit from corporate but I know it is overdu... Read more

First impression was not great. Check in was quick but the desk clerks did not explain anything about where our room was or breakfast, etc. Room was sub par at best. Their were holes in the bedroom curtain and shower curtain. The remote did not work. There was also a crack in the bathroom sink. Also the soda machine on the 2nd floor did not work and the one on the 3rd floor was sold at. The ice maker by the soda machine also leaked the whole time. Checked in on a 'game day weekend', which can be challenging at times from hotel staffs. My family had some additional challenges that we presented to the staff upon our checkin, challenges that I freely admitted that they had every right to not address. Angela and Eric, epidimized Southern Hospitality in cheerfully and graciously welcoming my request, and they resolved it. Will I stay there again? ABSOLUTELY. The room wasn't very clean & sleeper sofa mattress was badly stained with blood and other. Breakfast wasn't anything to write home about and included green eggs the second morning so we skipped it. Room didn't get made up between nights. At $160/night, I expect better. We were in the area for a University of Alabama game and this was the only hotel we could get within 45 minutes of campus. Next time I'll drive further.

We were on the way to the Alabama Game in Tuscaloosa, and my husband told me that our water line had broken. As it would have been 12:30 to 1:00 am when we returned home, we decided to stop in Bessemer to find a hotel room. We checked at several, all were booked, or very expensive. We had stayed at this hotel (Country Inn)l in the past, so we decided to see if a room was available. So glad we did! It was a great experience!
