I booked this resort through Armed Forces Vacation Club for the week of May 14 through the 21st. This is the beginning of St. Thomas' off season. For the Week I paid through AFVC $319.00 For 8 days and 7 Nights. The resort is located literally on top of a hill that overlooks the bay below. On their sight they do warn visitors that it is a challenge navigating around the property if you are not in good physical condition. They do have buildings that have elevators and they do have handicap lifts ... Read more

My friend and I stayed here in October 2015. While the resort was wonderful (love the architecture and levels of hotel!), the Front Desk Staff was not very friendly. In fact, it seemed that we were bothering them, or inconveniencing them. One older lady was even surly! They did not make us feel welcome; rather it felt like we were imposing on them and that they resented our presence.

The view from the room I had was breathtaking in the night time. Loved how I can sit on the balcony & watch the cruise ships come & go..... Rooms was extremely clean, big & bedding was white & spotless.... Had either 3 or 4 different restaurants on site, the food at all restaurants was very delicious. Also loved how close I was to town, airport & part much every thing..... Pool was warm & clean..... The staff was very polite & professional...... The only draw back was, it you're not driving & ch... Read more

We stayed at the Bluebeard Castle to extend our St John vacation and were glad that we were able to explore the beaches here. The view from our room which was in the CASTLE wing overlooked the cruise ship dock.o Other than the bathrooms needing a remodel the room was sufficient for our needs for the 3 nights in this area as we spent most of our time exploring.

The Good: The view from the balcony, spacious rooms with small kitchen, clean grounds. The Bad: You should know... there are a few unseen added expenses at this hotel. No maid service. They charge extra to clean your room! This hotel is located on a very high hill, which means unless you are a mountain climber, you'll need to take a Taxi wherever you go for at least $20.00 round trip per couple. There are no designated smoking areas at this hotel. They do not want smokers here. If you a... Read more

We went to use an RCI timeshare. We met tons of other owners and they were all really friendly. The bar right by the pool was our favorite place to hangout and get lunch when we didn't have other activities. The rooms were clean and after talking to a few of the timeshare owners this place got new management and has been improving in the last couple years. It's an absolutely beautiful place with great staff and a calm atmosphere. We will be back!

Nice place to stay while visiting St thomas. Twp great restaurants up there also with Room with a View and Banana Tree Grille both outstanding food and service. Room with a View has a great $5 happy hour with wine and tapas. Reasonably priced and lots of choices make for a good stay

We had a timeshare exchange for the week we spent here. It was our second time in St. Thomas, but our first time at Bluebeard's. We had a one bedroom unit in the Pirate's Pension buildings, closet to the bay side, great views. The room was very clean and well-maintained. The room has a large dining in family room area, the kitchen appliances are new and worked flawlessly. The staff was courteous and quick at check in. They have a smaller pool here, but there weren't too many guests this week s... Read more

As timeshare owners for 20 years at Bluebeard's Castle, we had another nice stay this May and continue to see improvements there each year. It has beautiful views of the harbor and Charlotte Amalie and you can watch as the cruise ships sail in and out of Havensight. The bathroom and kitchen in the Pirate's Pension units have been renovated and there are new furnishings in our comfortable studio unit. Two very nice restaurants are on site (Banana Tree Grill and Room with a View) as well as the... Read more

If you are looking for a great hotel with spectacular views at a great price Bluebeard castle is where you want to stay. The rooms are average but the view of Frenchman Harbor is great. The staff was very helpful. The pool is nice and a great place every to unwind after a day on the island. The food prices are a little high for the quality of food you get but that is the whole island unless you venture out to find good food. The best restaurant we found was called Off The Grid at Tilly in Havens... Read more

My family stayed here during our trip to the Islands. I booked on Expedia and not knowing anything about the area or anyone that had been here before I also came here to read reviews. I have to say that we were highly impressed with accommodations. The rooms were clean, and well stocked. The bed was really comfy and I really like having the small fully stocked kitchen area with sink, stove, microwave and fridge. No complaints here!!! This resort was lovely, a bit of a "mature" guests at our time of visit. The room was huge, view delightful, close enough to town to walk if your adventurous (we walked to town took a taxi back). The front desk staff were very pleasant, concierge a bit aloof, I think they see lots of folks come and go and we're all asking the same questions. I would definitely stay here again. We spent a week on a sailboat, needed a few nights stay on St Thomas and this was perfect.

My family and I stayed here for a week and it was the perfect spot! The location is awesome, it's perfectly situated next to downtown, at night you can even hear the music from some of the clubs. It's also conveniently located next to the food store and Kmart. Also, only a 15-20 min drive to Magens Bay! We rented a car, but there was always taxis waiting for customers outside. The rooms were huge, updated, and very very clean. Our view from our balcony was beautiful!!! The pool was perfect, nev... Read more

I stayed at bluebeards castle when I attended my 15yr high school reunion. The room was nice and roomy, updated with an ocean view. However, I stayed on the 4th floor in room 210 so there were many stairs to climb which i didnt mind but if youre tipsy not so good. The only downside is I checked in at 4 and was told the room wasnt ready so had to go have a a late lunch and come back but great property nevertheless

The location of the hotel is great, easy access to Main Street and downtown. The views were amazing perched high on the hilltop. It has three restaurants, including a pool bar. The spa was closed during my stay. The hotel is older but was maintained. The staff was friendly and at times helpful. The room had a balcony that overlooked the town and the port. The air conditioner worked but was very loud. I would stay there again.

Beautiful resort with beautiful accommodations and views. Friendly staff. Offered great excursions. On Sunday afternoon for $8 r/t they had a shuttle to grocery store. The grill had a great happy hour and menu. Breakfast by the pool was very reasonable and good selection. Only negative - no beach. If resort offered a shuttle to a beach it would be the best resort. Was on a timeshare trade.

We were booked here for a week as part of a vacation that we won. Upon seeing the reviews and the photos, we weren't sure what to expect. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised. The property is in a great place if you're going to be in St. Thomas for awhile. It's nearly in the middle of the island and you aren't more than 15-20 minutes from anything. Our room was pretty dated but it was perfectly adequate for our needs. We stayed in the Hilltop Villa I building and had a nice view of t... Read more

Really good service, very very clean room, great breakfast by the pool (not included) room with a view rest excellent and delicious. Definitely my favorite place to stay in St. Thomas. Room may be a little far from the front desk and there is not elevator access to all rooms but there's a bell boy that will take you to your room if its far. At first I was concerned about the door inside my room because it had access to the room next door, but I never had a problem so far.

I had a check in time of 5:00 PM Room 114 water is BROWN doesn't drain from the tub or sink . Toilet had URINE on the seat and hair . Ironing board cover was NASTY ! Most of the tiles were cracked , chipped or broken in the bathroom and throughout the room. I specifically told them I couldn't climb stairs and was placed in a room in which I had to climb stairs. I stayed in a beautiful 3 level loft complete with kitchen, dining area, living room, and bedroom upstairs in the loft, With an ocean view. I will start by saying this property was incredibly beautiful as far as the architecture. The history, the views and the location was impressive. The staff was very friendly. We arrived July 7th for my wife and I to celebrate our first anniversary. I did however notice my email request I sent asking if they have special anniversary type packages went unanswered which was not cool. The only downside to the physical location was how hard it is to get down to the town. The property is on a steep hi... Read more

We had such a mixed experience at Bluebeard's that I had difficulty assigning the proper rating. We booked a one week stay at Bluebeard's and we were excited about our trip. We showed up around 2:30 pm and our room was not quite ready (4pm check in), so we went to the bar next to the pool to grab a quick bite since the other restaurants were closed. After we ate, we were notified that our room was ready. We opened the door and the room was ok and nothing really special but fine. The floors ... Read more

This property is a mixed bag. Here's the good, bad & the ugly. The check-in was a fast & efficient but maybe too fast and efficient. The gal who I forgot to write down her name was kind of robotic and recited her spiel way too fast. When I left the lobby, I thought I knew where we were supposed to go. I stayed in the hilltop II villas. This room came with a kitchenette and balcony and was very spacious. Its important to keep in mind that the property is a timeshare property so it comes with dishes and utensils, but it does not feature daily housekeeping. The views are amazing from the pool deck and the balcony in the room. The one drawback is, its in the town so there are roosters that crow starting at about 4am everyday.
