From the beginning this was a disappointing experience. The front desk woman was not friendly or helpful. While checking in, I informed the receptionist that I had some mobility issues. She said that the bellmen would help us but never mentioned that the room was 47 steps down from the street. To get back to the restaurant, was at least another 50 steps and a steep slope. The steps are not even and I fell hurting myself. This did not concern any of the staff. The room was clean, th... Read more

I loved the stay at Blue Beards Castle. I'm a meeting/event/wedding planner and we booked this hotel online our honeymoon. Great bars and restaurants, loved Monday night Karaoke. I would give 5 star if not for K-9 Joe Tour, which the Concierge booked for us and neglected to tell us we would be in a closed taxi with tinted windows for the tour and a man named K-9 Joe, and ex police officer and K-9 trainer. This was one of the only things we booked as my husband (who is also in public safety) and... Read more

We stayed two nights and were delighted with the view from our Hilltop Villa at Bluebeard's. It's a bit tricky to find the office for check in - but the boys on golf carts are helpful in finding your rooms. *Our studio suite on the 3rd floor (No elevators) was dated but quiet, clean and comfortable. The small kitchenette had a full size fridge with freezer. Not so excited about the restaurant food/service. We only ate one meal at the bar/restaurant- sandwiches were pricey for the amount & quali... Read more

We stayed for a week in Bluebeards Castle in the middle of January. Adjoining rooms in Hilltop Villas. My parents in one room and my wife, myself, and our 1 year old in another. It worked out perfect for us. We usually made breakfast in the mornings on our stovetop, we went down to the K Mart a few times and bought provisions. I would go there over the Pueblos supermarket. Liquor prices are much cheaper at K Mart as well.... if you are in to that sort of thing, which I am lol. I had read some ... Read more

Stayed here for several nights over the christmas holiday. There are 2 guest room areas, the east side and the west side. Can't speak for the west side, which did look a bit nicer, but I call the east side, the east side slums! Extremely rundown and in need of both repairs and major updating. The reason why we ended up staying here is because we waited till mid September to make reservations for the hoildays and most everything else was already booked. Now the onsite restaurants, we were to... Read more

Front desk appeared angry and inpatient. We felt like an inconvenience upon check-in. There was no orientation to the property and the young bellman appeared more interested in his cell phone than the customers. It was shocking to be treated poorly and we witnessed other customers being treated badly as well. In contrast, there was one young front desk person who was friendly. The housekeeping and maintenance staff were exceptional. Overall, I would probably return to this resort but will de... Read more

I was really hoping for an awesome hotel for my family, but I can't give a positive review of Bluebeard's Castle. Honestly, I wish I could rate my experience better. -My family stayed 4 nights for a scuba diving trip. Most of the people are RUDE. It just seems like you're a bother to them. -We pulled the sofa out and there was considerable mold on the mat and underside of the mattress. We asked them to bring a roll-away bed or clean it - and we felt bad for asking!!! It was like we were botheri... Read more

Before my boyfriend and I went and stayed at the Bluebeard's Castle Resort, we read a lot of mixed reviews, that is why I wanted to come on here to say how happy we were with our time here. We had an amazing room overlooking Charlotte Amalie harbor, which was a huge perk, but even without that, the restaurants were awesome, room was clean, prime location in town. We also lucked out with a room that had a stove, not sure if they all had that, but it was helpful. I read somewhere you should get a ... Read more

We were on a RCI time share exchange. The view from our unit was of the city and harbor. Enjoyed watching sunsets from the balcony. The facility has one eatery for breakfast and lunch with three for dinner==be aware of gratuity being added to the bill. We appreciated the free computer in the lobby. Front desk personnel varied in helpfulness--we stopped by to request a wake-up call the next morning and the person had great difficulty finding the book in which to write our request--this was c... Our room overall was clean and equipt with essentials. We did not spend a lot of time in our room only to sleep and shower. The staff was very friendly and helpful to book excursions. The restaurant was amazing but a little expensive. We rented a car to get around the island, the road signs are terrible.
