I booked this resort through Armed Forces Vacation Club for the week of May 14 through the 21st. This is the beginning of St. Thomas' off season. For the Week I paid through AFVC $319.00 For 8 days and 7 Nights. The resort is located literally on top of a hill that overlooks the bay below. On their sight they do warn visitors that it is a challenge navigating around the property if you are not in good physical condition. They do have buildings that have elevators and they do have handicap lifts ... Read more

My friend and I stayed here in October 2015. While the resort was wonderful (love the architecture and levels of hotel!), the Front Desk Staff was not very friendly. In fact, it seemed that we were bothering them, or inconveniencing them. One older lady was even surly! They did not make us feel welcome; rather it felt like we were imposing on them and that they resented our presence.

Also loved how close I was to town, airport & part much every thing..... Pool was warm & clean..... The staff was very polite & professional...... We stayed at the Bluebeard Castle to extend our St John vacation and were glad that we were able to explore the beaches here. The view from our room which was in the CASTLE wing overlooked the cruise ship dock.o Other than the bathrooms needing a remodel the room was sufficient for our needs for the 3 nights in this area as we spent most of our time exploring.

The Good: The view from the balcony, spacious rooms with small kitchen, clean grounds. The Bad: You should know... there are a few unseen added expenses at this hotel. No maid service. They charge extra to clean your room! This hotel is located on a very high hill, which means unless you are a mountain climber, you'll need to take a Taxi wherever you go for at least $20.00 round trip per couple. There are no designated smoking areas at this hotel. They do not want smokers here. If you a... Read more

We went to use an RCI timeshare. We met tons of other owners and they were all really friendly. The bar right by the pool was our favorite place to hangout and get lunch when we didn't have other activities. The rooms were clean and after talking to a few of the timeshare owners this place got new management and has been improving in the last couple years. It's an absolutely beautiful place with great staff and a calm atmosphere. We will be back!

We had a timeshare exchange for the week we spent here. It was our second time in St. Thomas, but our first time at Bluebeard's. We had a one bedroom unit in the Pirate's Pension buildings, closet to the bay side, great views. The room was very clean and well-maintained. The room has a large dining in family room area, the kitchen appliances are new and worked flawlessly. The staff was courteous and quick at check in. This resort was lovely, a bit of a "mature" guests at our time of visit. The room was huge, view delightful, close enough to town to walk if your adventurous (we walked to town took a taxi back). The front desk staff were very pleasant, concierge a bit aloof, I think they see lots of folks come and go and we're all asking the same questions. I would definitely stay here again. We spent a week on a sailboat, needed a few nights stay on St Thomas and this was perfect.

However, I stayed on the 4th floor in room 210 so there were many stairs to climb which i didnt mind but if youre tipsy not so good. The location of the hotel is great, easy access to Main Street and downtown. The views were amazing perched high on the hilltop. It has three restaurants, including a pool bar. The spa was closed during my stay. The hotel is older but was maintained. The staff was friendly and at times helpful. The room had a balcony that overlooked the town and the port. The air conditioner worked but was very loud. I would stay there again.

You need a taxi for almost everthing...internet on the room was bad ( room 125) Its was low season so there was not much to do...Special Compliments for VICTORIA 'congierge' and K9-JOE 'taxidriver'. As a time share property all the rooms had great amenities. House keeping is upon request, as is towel refreshing. The staff is friendly and helpful-for the most part. The restaurants are good, A room with a view is amazing! Get there for sunset and ask for a table on the balcony! We stayed in a studio on the first floor in Villas III, the bed was a full size and there was a small sleeper sofa as well. Air conditioner was very old and made a lot of noise-to the point where we had to turn it off... Read more

I have to say coming here I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. From the airport to the hotel is a 10 minutes commute and it's on top of the mountain which lens it self to beautiful view. once you arrive staff are very friendly and helpful we had a small mishap with the room the room we were in the air conditioner was not working properly it took a couple of calls to the front desk but they got us in another room with very little effort, so that's a plus. So far so good at the end of the... Read more

We stayed in one of the hotel style buildings and had the most amazing view of Charlotte Amalie. It was a very warm week and our air conditioning barely worked but that didn't diminish our stay. A lot of time was spent out and about on the islands, but it was very convenient the night we were just too tired to explore to have the restaurant and pool bar on site. We stayed for seven days and they only clean rooms every three days so our room was only cleaned once. To change out beach towels you h... Read more

We have a studio time share here. It has a mini kitchen with a full size fridge, so we go to the grocery and stock up on breakfast, lunch and snacks. There are several restaurants on site. Banana Leaf is on of the best on island. People do dress for that one. Tropicasual, meaning no shorts or t-shirts is required. The rooms are plain, but clean and comfortable.

Bedroom was big and had a full kitchen, but failed in the most important thing, THE BED. It had a thin, hard and uncomfortable mattress that gave us severe back pain two days in a row. Overall the staff was friendly except for the receptionist, which is sad cause it's the first and most important impression, she was rude and disrespectful when asked if they had another room available and said they were completely booked (isn't that her job and shouldn't she be happy we decided not to share a roo... I wasn't sure what to expect after reading all of the conflicting reviews. Something that helped clear up everything was the fact that this is a timeshare resort. One of the dresser drawers and bathroom cabinet doors didn't close all the way. The views are excellent, but not necessarily from the front of your room. Some have complained about the cost of food, and that is true... food in St. Thomas is expensive! If I ever go to St. Thomas again I will definitely rent a jeep. Driving is not f... Read more

We stay here for 6 nights. The staff were friendly and helpful thru out our stay. Went to the restaurant that had the $5. Happy Hour for wine and aps. and were Great. The fried shrimp were so fresh. And the Key lime cheese cake was Great. Our room was big and clean. Had a large fridge / small kitchen. From the balcony we had a beautiful view of the city. Would go back again. Only thing is, it's on a hill, the walk down is not to bad, but the walk back up is. If you're not in shape.

I loved this place. It sits on top of the hill with a danish fort as the centerpiece. The view is probably the best on the island. Our room was great and looked out over the harbor. All of the people that work there were friendly and made or stay a pleasure. The on premises restaurants were fantastic. The spanakopita was great. Go into town and have a conch roti at Jen's

We absolutely loved staying at Bluebeard's Castle. It was a timeshare exchange for us. The room was spacious with a gorgeous view. The windows could be opened to let in the breeze. It was like living outside! The pool was beautiful. We were fortunate and ran into the friendliest, kindest taxi cab driver named, Rachel. She took us everywhere and we always asked for her. So we had no problems walking up the hill to get back to the hotel.

My family (including kids 10 & 13) had a great vacation at Bluebeard's Castle. We stayed in Hilltop II with a great view of the cruise ships & Havensite. We had delicious meals at the restaurants on site, Banana Tree & Room with a view. The grounds around the castle are beautiful and we all enjoyed the pool area. It would be great to have a little more areas by the pool with shade to take a break from the sun. The Castle store had essential food & drinks if you didn't want to drive to the gro... Read more

We stayed at the North Villas III - if you don't expect much you will enjoy your stay. The 1 bedroom studio with pull out sofa does not have a privacy door so make sure you love the people you're sharing the room with. In addition there's no "balcony" as some sites promise. It is just the walk way in front of your motel rooms. The AC did not work in the first unit they put us in but after some insistent requests they allowed us to move to a unit where the AC worked on both sides of unit. The bla... Read more

I took my daughter on a long weekend trip to St Thomas so we could have some quality time together. The resort was lovely. Our room have a nice view being on the top floor. The steps were a killer. My advise is to get a bellmen to take your bags to your room. Restaurants on site were convenient so you didn't have to venture out at night. It is challenging driving up the steep roads during the day. I was nerve wracked driving at night bc I wasn't familiar with my surroundings. If it's r... Read more

We truly enjoyed our stay at Bluebeard's Castle as a timeshare exchange. The resort is clean and well-maintained. Our unit was spacious and clean and comfortable, and we had a beautiful view of the harbor, mountainside, and downtown Charlotte Amalie. The lack of an oven in the kitchen of our specific unit surprised us. I cannot say whether other units have ovens. But we did have a microwave and a full-size fridge and a stove top. There are three restaurants and a small gift/convenience sho... Read more
