Mold/mildew. Very rude. Expensive. Stay somewhere else. Lawn workers at your front door at 7 am. Terrible activities and very few of them. Only one dining room after 5 pm. Drinks are watered down at expensive prices. Small coffee is $3.50 and a breakfast sandwich is $9.95. Had to wait approx 10-15 minutes for a cart ride to the front gate or wherever you needed to go in the complex. There are much better hotels around and they call them self a ""resort""".

We stayed in the 3 bedroom pool villas over Spring Break 2016. We had 2 families of 4, 4 adults and 4 boys ages 12-14. The villa was spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool was about what we expected - enough to jump in and cool off, but not particularly spacious. The villa was a great place for us to stay on St John, as we used it as a base of operations to explore the island and its various beaches every day. The amenities of hte resort are nice, but not necessarily what you would travel... Read more

The hotel portion of this resort is being turned into more villas for timeshare. As a timeshare owner with the Westin this is good for us as we hope to have more availabity to return - but as an SPG member I sure hope it doesn't limit us to not being able to book a few extra days stay using our points?? We had a nice 2 bedroom unit which could accommodate 10 people, there were only 4 of us so there was plenty of room. With 10 it would have been very cramped especially since the deck had only... This hotel is under construction and is being converted to time shares. I stayed here in mid May for 3 nights with family. The pool area is nice, but overall the property has no Wow factor. The hotel rooms are decent, but bathrooms could use some upgrading. They did have comfortable beds! Beach is decent and is good for a swim, but nothing even close to all the spectacular beaches St John has to offer. I was surprised that considering how much rooms are here (if your not using points) that eve... Read more

A beautiful place for a vacation. You can arrive by taxi or boat from St Thomas. A time share resort that has everything: pools, spa and tennis courts. Very relaxed and quiet- perfect! Love the Frangipani trees ū??? There is a large bar and restaurant on site but we prefer to get a cheap taxi run from the hotel door into town. Don't hire a car- take taxis - it helps the local economy & it's safer! The beaches are spectacular and the weather is perfect! The island is very quiet- it's a national p... Read more

I came here for a destination wedding and stayed in a three bedroom villa time share that is owned by the grooms parents. I REALLY enjoyed myself. The villa had its own private pool and hot tub which was amazing. 9 of us were able to sleep in the villa. Thank God for three full bathrooms and a half bath. The rooms themselves could use a little upgrading. Some things falling apart in the villa and smelled a little damp but I guess that is to be expected in tropical climate. The shuttles and taxi'... Villa was across the road and up the hill so used the golf cart transportation frequently. But lovely to have bird song wake us in the morning and feel like we were all by ourselves. Wonderful ferry service from the airport to St John's, villa is ready and your luggage is delivered, makes it very easy. These are fully equipped for cooking, pack some spices and small condiments so you don't have to buy full size ones at island prices. Enjoyed the Caribbean night dinner, sunset sail and massag... Overall you aren't getting great value for your money at the Westin if you are making use of the hotel a lot during your stay. It's pretty expensive and the food/drinks are also overpriced and not very good quality. However during our stay we really wanted to get out and experience the natural beauty of St. John so we only were really at the hotel for breakfast and then to shower/sleep. The beach at the hotel pales in comparison to every other beach in St John and you should definitely leave the... Read more

This was our fourth visit to the Westin Resort, so we obviously enjoy it there. We stayed several nights in the hotel before checking into a 3 bedroom villa for a week. We've seen some much needed upgrades to the resort since we were there in 2014 and are glad to see the conversion of all hotel rooms to ownership villas is progressing. The staff, in general, didn't seem quite as accomodating and available as we remembered from past visits. Understandably, the hotel rooms are not up-to-date, nor ... Read more

This was our first visit to the Westin Resort in Saint John and hopefully not our last! Great resort, friendly staff, beautiful grounds, huge pool, good restuarant and bars and super convenient to Cruz Bay. Just grab a cocktail, head to the lobby, hop on a shuttle ($5 each way) and they'll take you to any restuarant, shop or bar in town while you relax! They are in the midst of construction but it really never bothered us. Used Cruz Bay Water Sports, which is at the resort, and they were great ... Read more

This Hotel Chain always provides an amazing experience. . Get a room on the beach. Rooms offer Starbucks Coffee products. Lemongrass restaurant amazing flavors. A stay at this property does not disappoint, even though there are renovations taking place throughout 2016. Worth every penny. Did I mention the beds, and bedding.. luxurious! Great night sleep after a long day in the water.

My husband and I just went on our honeymoon here. We are 28 and very active travelers. Beautiful hotel and VERY nice staff. The taxis from the hotel into town and to any beach you want is so easy! The only bad thing about this hotel is the beach has a lot of seaweed in the water so we didn't even sit at the beach. I wish they could rake it out so that it would be prettier and more usable. Very kid friendly hotel. Food was amazing. A little expensive, but hey its vacation! We ate at the restauran... Read more

Absolutely the best vacation we ever had. The staff was above exception from housekeeping to management. Karen our concierge was like family to us. Beautiful and excellent maintained grounds. ALL staff encountered were friendly and engaging and all services from laundry to restaurant were precise and timely. We spent most evenings dining around Cruz Bay but the one dinner and all breakfast and lunches were reasonable in pricing and food was beyond expectations. The marketplace deli was rea... Read more

Great getaway. Weather was amazing and very laid back environment. The newly renovated rooms were fantastic. Staff was friendly and helpful. Taxis were abundant but best to rent a jeep so one can see the island much better. Lots of great beaches and trails to explore. Close to Cruz Bay and lots of good restaurants to go to. The dock is convenient to get back to St. Thomas instead of going to Cruz Bay. There are water activities and pools to do.

The rooms seemed nice. We had a king bedroom, with pool view. It was a smaller room, but nice. It was remodeled. They are way down there in the Caribbean, so remodels are VERY expensive when you have to literally SHIP everything in. I was disappointed by the beach when we were there. They were working on the dock, so all the water was stirred up and dirty from the work. Not like the rest of the island beaches that are turquoise and pristine. Their food was definitely mediocre. This property is exquisite and well manicured and the accommodations lived up to the Westin name. We stayed in a villa (bldg 24) and were very pleased with the room. The 3 bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious. The only complaint about the room is we would have liked a little more room in the common living space for when the whole family was together (9 of us) but we just moved some chairs from the large family sized dining table and made it work. The property is spread out so be prepared to d... Read more

We just got back from a 6 day stay at the Westin in St. John and were very happy with our experience there. We stayed at a two bedroom villa with 4 people and it was huge! It could have easily slept 8-10 people. It was clean and had everything we needed. I couldn't believe there we 3 bathrooms! Our view wasn't of the water, but of the beautiful mountainside. We had a blast booking a snorkel and sail picnic on a 60' catamaran with an excellent crew and great snorkeling. The food was good t... Read more

This was our 6th trip to the Westin and the property is still as beautiful and well-kept as ever. However they have been bought by a time share company and are clearly only concerned with their "owners". Starwood elite guests don't warrent their interest and it was plain as day to us that we were the "cheap guests". Brand loyalty is now non-existent. This is a management issue. The bell staff were fabulous. Front desk just didn't care, at least about "hotel" guests vs owners. After 25 years w... Read more

We just got back from our 5th stay at the Westin St John and have nothing but great things to say about the resort. We've been coming here since my kids were preschoolers and they're now teens. This trip we had extended family with us -- 9 people total, and all had a great time. While the Westin doesn't excel at everything, it offers all that a family would want, in a phenomenal location and that's what keeps us coming back. The resort never feels crowded, even during peak holiday travel - our... Read more

We have been coming here for 15+ years. The weather has always (except 1 year) been great. They have invested a lot of money to keep the grounds and facilities updated. There is a great pool and very nice beach. The workout area is fine. The spa is limited. Snorkels, the day restaurant, has great food. The evening restaurant by the pier also is very good. The staff do a fine job. There is a store/deli and another store with clothes and assorted items. Tennis (which we do not use), nic... Read more

First you take a ferry directly to the pier at the resort. Your bags are taken directly to your villa, with no trouble. The rooms are large and comfortable. Everything you need is within the resort, or you can walk out the main gate, take a left and walk 100 yards to the ST. John market and pat 1/4 the price. The resort is lovely and is everything you could want to relax and refresh yourself.

We came down on a sailing vacation and decided to come in a few days early to experience some of the US islands before heading over to the BVI's. Evidently the Westin is no longer a hotel, it is a timeshare property. While they are not particularly pushy about the timeshare element, there is literature and plenty of opportunity to "learn" about the advantages of ownership. Thanks but no thanks. The property itself deserves an A+. It is extremely clean, well manicured and tucked in away from Cr... Read more

This family friendly hotel is a great place to stay as well as visit for the day. You may sit on the beach and have a drink by the pool even if you aren't staying there (which is what we did). The beach is calm without a lot of current. In the water is also a water trampoline for kids to play on. The resort also has an open air restaurant with amazing food but no air conditioning.

We swapped in the system for a stay here and weren‚??t disappointed. Biggest issue we had was our room location. We had a room in a section of the resort across the street from the main property but at least it had a great view of the bay and there were plenty of staff-driven golf carts available to transport us back and forth when needed. We never had a long wait when we requested a ride. The staff were always friendly and attentive and more than adequately addressed our every inquiry, request... Read more
