The building is very old, the staff is not likable, the rooms are very small. The mattress is comfy, but it is all. The breakfast is the same everyday, with a few options. The tables don´t have cloth and the hotel is not very clean. The bathroom is the smallest that I have ever seen and you barely have room to put your toilletries. You can find lots of crane-flies waiting for you at your room at night. It is a nightmare! I do not recommend this hotel!

Rarely do I write negative reviews, but I feel compelled to warn others who may be drawn in as I was by some clever advertising. I booked the room here b/c it was advertised as like 70% off $350, or something like that. I can't see anyone paying that much to EVER to stay here. Checked in and shower-head was laying on floor of bathroom. Apathetic desk employee shrugged shoulders and handed us key to another room, which we later determined was infested by ants and seemed to always smell faintl... Read more

From first glance this hotel looks very nice, and then you look closer and see how poorly it is maintained. Beds were comfy enough, until our first morning there when we realized the room was full of ants. In the bed, on the floor, and in the bathroom. The bathroom smelled of stale urine, hair in shower drains, and visible mildew gunk in corner of shower. Breakfast was alright, but coffee was cold and tasted of metal. If your not looking for anything fancy this place could be fine, I would p... Read more

Close to the Radisson, Casino and Independence Square on the edge of a rougher neighbourhood but very safe during the day. Easy walk to the Old Town. Hotel must have been impressive in its day with all that marble, but today, in general could use some updating. In places looked tired and worn but for the price great value. Computer available throughout the day. Front desk was outstanding in their outlook to the guests providing suggestions, directions and assistance. There was a good breakfast p... Read more

We stayed two nights here with an online offer so it's was an ok price but if you pay the normal rate it's so overpriced! Don't expect a 3 stars hôtel it's no more than a budget one. The maintenance of the room is minimal, dust in all the corners, mould in the shower, dirty walls, broken sink and trash can, ants in the bathroom, no cold water and bad smell in the bathroom... The corridor and the reception look nice but the decoration of the room is bad, if you pay the normal price (110USD a do... Read more

The hotel is old fashioned and was OK on a first look. The room was cleaned and also its bathroom. The bathroom is small and should be a little wider. The staff is kind and the breakfast is nice. Excellent coffee, bread, butter and cheese! The hotel is located on the old part of the city - close to the port and the independence square what is a good thing in Montevideo.

The rooms were clean and comfortable equipped with a fine bathroom. Great value for money and the breakfasts were fantastic. The hotel offers free tea coffee and cake at 4pm everyday which was nice. Location's in downtown so walkable to most attractions.

The hotel could be really nice. But everything is not as good as you would expected it to be. Rooms are not really clean. Ants in the shower. Breakfast is oke but no friendly staff to help you. Just eat and go and if something is out of stock wait until she fills it. So if you go to Montevideo go somewhere else!!

We stayed here as it looked o.k for the price and seemed close to some of the big sights. When we got off the ferry a local in the taxi rank informed us that it was in a very ruff area and he was not wrong. The local area is shady and not the best to be around at night. The staff are a bit scruffy as is the hotel. During the night the pipes burst in the room and flooded the bathroom. The guy on reception said a plumber would be 2hrs and suggested we should go out at 5:45am, after statin... Read more
