The hotel was a pleasant 10 min walk from town centre. Winchester is a historical town with lovely walks and lots of nice shops, pubs and eating places. A number of free entry places to visit. A pity you have to pay now to go into the cathedral. The hotel was was well situated. There was a nice outside sitting area, which was pleasantly unexpected due to the location. Great for a short break if you want to enjoy a bit of history.

This hotel is approached via a public car park and the first instinct is to use the exit and locate another hotel; however, that would be a mistake as the hotel has all that's required for an enjoyable stay (once you get inside). Rooms are clean, spacious and relaxing. If I had to complain, I'd say the restaurant lacked atmosphere in the evening - but that's easy to remedy as there are plenty of places to dine in Winchester. I was on business and therefore didn't get to try the spa facilities.

Love, love LOVE this hotel!! We have stayed here five times now and each time it does not disappoint. At 5pm on a Saturday, we decided to spontaneously visit. Nothing was too much for the Reception team and we were booked in, upgraded and relaxing by 6.30! We usually go on the Friday feeling offer, however as it was a Saturday we had the Fizz package. The value for money is insanely good! £140 for a room including two glasses of fizz and £50 off our meal. The meal was delicious. We always ... Read more

Booked the "Friday feeling" deal for a short romantic break with my girlfriend and everything was great . The staff were all friendly and helpful , and the food was excellent for both dinner and breakfast . The spa is quite small and modest as other reviewers have pointed out but it is all clean and in good condition . Was certainly nice to relax i... Read more

A modern hotel in walking distance of the city centre. Bed very comfy and room quiet. Little touches like super-thick towels, heated bathroom mirror and a decent hair-dryer cleverly concealed in the dressing table. Staff smart and mainly young - keen and helpful. Superb meal in the restaurant and the bar has a very nice outdoor seating area. Would stay here again.

We stayed here last Saturday as I wanted to visit Winchester and this hotel was chosen purely because of its peaceful location yet easy access to restaurants/bars and some sight seeing. Parking is limited for the hotel itself but has a big NCP next to it so it isn't a major issue, although for 2pm on a busy Saturday afternoon, we managed to park very comfortably in the hotel car park and was only just over £6 for a 24hr stay....bargain! The room is clean , with lovely towels and plenty of cupboards and drawers. But, a word to the wise, if you struggle with walking or have a poor sense of direction make sure your room is not allocated on the 3rd floor! As parents of the bride we stayed two nights at the Winchester Spa hotel, the night before and night afterwards. We were well looked after by Claire the wedding organiser who had thought of every detail and kept us running to time. The hotel is a great venue for a intimate wedding and all guests were very complimentary about the venue. Our wedding breakfast and meals at the hotel were of a high standard and we could not find fault. The only minor niggle was a couple of staff were very grumpy dur... Read more

We stayed on a Friday and booked via the Friday deal and we thought it was excellent value for money considering you get the room, dinner, breakfast, a cocktail and use of the spa facilities. The hotel is very nice and the room was fine. The hotel is only about a 5 minute walk from the train station and about a 15 minute walk into the main part of the town, so a good location overall. We stayed for one night and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was modern and clean. We took a walk into Winchester centre for dinner which is only a short walk away. Lots of pubs and restaurants to choose from. Great choice at breakfast. Quality of breakfast was good too. Helpful staff all around the hotel. Plenty of nice Gins too choose from on the bar menu (local too!) Will stay again.

Quite expensive and feels bit like a motorway type hotel as basically in a public car park. Good location only took minutes to centre. We were advised had been upgraded but basically this was a disabled room. Room smelt of smoke we complained about this and that shower fell apart when turned it on and to be fair we were given a reduction.

Very nice clean and comfortable room, shower very powerful which was great as most hotels they're poor (I'm a plumber do it matters to me) staff were very helpful and polite. Breakfast was of a very good quality (8.5/10) and plenty full. Swimming pool was very nice as well. The hotel is ideally suited for the centre. Recommended

all staff is focused in not making mistakes....and we experienced that at any encounter. they all are quit stressed not to break the rules given by the management. We're not blaming the staff but we do want to ask the management to review their policies. They might be of good faith but we can asure them that if they forget really to comfort the guests that in the long run they're not going to make it.

We stayed here on a weekend break for a Friday and Saturday night. We had some free nights saved up with hotels.com and so didn't pay the rather expensive tariff. We wanted a hotel near the centre so we could easily walk in, and this was the perfect location...it takes about 5/10 minutes depending how fast you walk. You have the option to use the hotel or public car park. Whilst both seem to have similar charges the hotel car park was cheaper for us as we were out during the day which meant we w... Read more

....it's OK but expensive. We needed to be in Winchester at short notice so I booked this through booking.com. I tried loads of other cheaper places but they were all booked, so this was my only option at £190 B&B (I'm sure lots of other people didn't pay that). It wasn't worth it. We were put in a tiny room (209) which had a large velux window and no blind so we were woken up at the crack of dawn.
