Pro's-Rooms were large, beds were big & comfortable, there was a selection of pillows (firm, soft), all amenities were provided. We couldn't say enough about the staff - the people at reception and the people in the restaurant were lovely and so friendly. The restaurant itself was nice, food was good, portions were on the small side. WiFi (free) was excellent. TV had lots of channels. Ample parking. Good breakfast buffet. Location is good; just off motorway. 10 mins into Winchester itself. We ha... Read more

We stayed here after a long drive visiting friends. The reception staff were very welcoming and the whole ambience of the hotel was good. We had an Executive Room which was very nice. We had a great night sleep. We went to the bar to have a drink but were disappointed by the barman and his attitude, he was mr grumpy. The wine was not much better. The welcome at breakfast was a breath of fresh air as was the staff. A great place to stay if you are heading to Southampton or Portsmouth to catch a... Read more

I am a regular at IHG properties as a platinum member, and I have to say this place has the best food i have tasted in any Crowne Plaza/Holiday Inn. The fillet steak was perfection, and the vegetable soup was delicious. Special mention to Victoria in the restaurant who was so polite and friendly. Lovely rooms (was slightly disappointed not to be upgraded) and staff are great. All in all an excellent stay.

This is a modern well lit and open space hotel, we visited prior to our cruise from Southampton. This created an ideal start to a cruise holiday. Only 5 minute drive into centre of Winchester and 20 minute drive to cruise terminal

To be honest I didn't have high expectations, I expected this to be another run of the mill hotel. I was initially impressed with the reception area and then also the other communal areas. The rooms were clean, spacious, quiet and modern. The staff were polite and helpful and there was plenty of free parking on site. The only downside is that this hotel is on the outskirts of Winchester (about 3 miles to the centre) - but then the price is competitive and the hotel and facilities are excellent.... Read more

Stayed for two nights on 1 June. Been to many Holiday Inns in the past in numerous cities but never stayed in one like this. Maybe it is a one off or perhaps I've just been unlucky with my choice of similar hotels in the past but this one more resembled a 4* hotel than a budget one. Spacious entrance and very polite welcoming staff on the front desk. Rooms very good standard and had everything you need. We opted for breakfast on the first morning and were impressed by the quality and variety of... Read more

Ideal for a spot close to Winchester with parking! The park and ride site is next door, please use it for Winchester as parking is poor in the City itself - one multi-storey has been closed for redevelopment. The hotel itself is obviously formulaic but the staff are all pleasant and the rooms comfortable. Only had the breakfast and it is well laid out and easy to use buffet style.

The location is a couple of miles outside of downtown Winchester and feels a little isolated. Like most hotels in the UK, the rooms are smaller than you would expect at a similar hotel in the US. They have a good but not great breakfast buffet. We had a good dinner in the hotel restaurant the first night of our stay.

Stayed here for one night. I was upgraded due to my IHG Reward status, which was nice, Disappointingly, breakfast started too late for my needs, so the hotel agreed to give me a credit towards dinner instead of breakfast, at my request. The rate was reasonable but it can be expensive if busy. The Executive room was not large but was adequate for one night. Two bottles of complimentary water, a chocolate bar and three items of fruit were provided. Good quality bathrobes but no slippers. Goo... Read more

Stayed here one night in order to visit a customer in Southampton the next morning. Plenty of parking spaces and check in was quick and easy. Room was facing a small hill and a lonely looking sheep. Stayed here for 3 nights. Average hotel really. Rooms absolutely adequate, not outstanding. Felt the bed was very hard and uncomfortable, requested an additional quilt to soften the mattress, this helped somewhat. The TV did not work for the entire time we were there, some problem throughout the hotel apparently. Strange that the bar area's TV still worked! This hotel is a little out of the way but it is relatively new, clean and efficient. Good for an overnight stay but that's about it. Must opt for the breakfast as there is no other option nearby. For a family travelling together, there are not too many options nearby as the older hotels in town cannot accommodate 2+1. Lacks excitement but as expected from a Holiday Inn.

My husband and I stayed here on July 2nd for one night. All the other hotels in Winchester were fully booked hence ended up in this hotel. I was pleasantly surprised.. We stayed in the Executive room, it was spacious enough, very clean, very comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good. The staff at the bar and reception were friendly. It is not a luxury hotel but good value for money considering we booked on the same day.

Modern hotel with comfortable rooms. The staff were helpful and friendly. We ate in the restaurant both nights and were very pleasantly surprised with the choice and quality of the food. The only slight issue was that we could hear the bass beat of the music from a wedding downstairs whilst in our room on the first night.

I've given this review a 5 star rating NOT because the stay was wonderful (as it would normally be) BUT because Marc the manager worked so hard put things right. The stay in itself was only really a 3 star due to quite a few negatives. Really good high standard holiday inn. 2 issues, firstly there is absolutely no mobile signal (Vodafone) not that this is the hotels fault! We arrived quite late, managed to have a few drinks in the very nice bar. The 2nd issue being all the TV's in the hotel rooms where not functioning correctly, we where not told this at check in, when mentioned at check out, bad weather (lighting) had affected them the previous day, I wasn't too impressed. Other than this is a good hotel.

This is a great hotel. you are greeted as an old friend and the service is wonderful. If you're lucky enough to be served by Myles or Ashley then you are in for a treat. All the staff are brilliant here. They really make you feel at home and the food is very good. There is a wide selection, both meat and vegetarian and the bar has an extensive array. Nice ambiance, clean rooms...all good.

This hotel is very modern and comfortable with everything you'd expect from a holiday inn. The difference in this hotel is the service, the staff are very helpful and cannot do enough for you, especially in the bar/ restaurant area. A particular mention has to go to Will and Myles in the bar area, can't do enough to make me feel at home. I'll definitely be a returning customer, keep up the good work.

Only issue is on price, average about £5 for a beer......no competition within a mile or so, this means you are a captive customer unless you take taxi into the town which costs about £8

We used this hotel as a base for attending a family wedding and associated celebrations. As you'd expect of a Holiday Inn, public areas and bedrooms are clean, spacious and functional. We did not have breakfast, but had late-night drinks in the bar. Service was helpful and efficient throughout. Me and my girlfriend stayed here for one night. The hotel was lovely and everyone was very helpful. The room service was really nice but a shame the side dishes were over priced for what you got. The entertainment in the room was ok but even tho it had a HDMI port on the TV I couldn't connect my laptop as you can't change it over to the HDMI channel. Over all it's a nice hotel but there is some little things that add up to bring it down a bit.

All other UK hotels we've tried with A/C have regular good quality A/C where you're very comfortable temperature-wise. Not here. The A/C has 3 speeds: virtually nothing, less, and much less. It was a COOL night, not hot; but since windows can't be opened save with a hammer, your well being depends on the A/C. They said, if you're going out for the evening it'll cool down by then.
