From the very first phone call enquiring about xmas arrangements the staff were superb. Bagdale is a delight. Yes a few grays round the edge but at 500 yes old what can one expect. Our room no:6 was lovely triple aspect lovely big 4 poster seating area and very very warm. Breakfast good and again staff very attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Bar area welcoming and we enjoyed a couple of night caps. Whitby is a fabulous place to visit. We will most definately stay here again.

We stayed in the lodge behind this hotel. Plenty of parking at both hotels. Can only check in at the Old Hall, but was easy enough. Rooms okay, comfy bed. Only gripe was the breakfast, lack of organisation. Sat down and waited about 15 mins before we was even asked if we wanted coffee, then what we wanted for breakfast. Was not even busy.

Went here last night for the seven course New Years Eve dinner and we were delighted!! The staff were very welcoming and attentive and the food was absolutely incredible - they have an extremely talented chef. Would highly recommend Bagdale Hall restaurant for anyone wanting a gourmet experience - we will be booking again for next year.

We stayed at the Bagdale Hall at the end of October, my husband and I. We stayed in a double suite in the Hall itself (room 4). A lovely spacious room, we really enjoyed our two night stay. We stayed there on Halloween but unfortunately didn't get to experience any spooky goings on! A lovely old building with loads of character, we loved the property and our room. The hotel is conveniently located for the railway station and the centre of Whitby town. As the restaurant was closed on the Sunday a... Read more

Bagdale restaurant was recommended by our B and B Rylstone Mere. We enjoyed a lovely evening meal. Fish pie was full of large prawns. Very reasonably priced. Staff were very nice. Recommend booking for a Saturday night. We will return.

The Bagdale Hall Hotel Is an old building in the centre of Whitby. The staff were helpful from when we booked to when we left. A ground floor room with walk in shower was requested & provided. The room had a four poster bed as a bonus. Our accommodation was in the annex, round the corner from the main entrance next to the car park. The breakfast was hearty & well cooked. An excellent stay.

If you want a centrally located hotel in the centre of Whitby with bags of character, try Bagdale Hall. This is a genuine Tudor building. The rooms are very big and comfortable many with four posters. The staff are very friendly and service is very good.

The Bagdale Hotel, well what can I say? Not anything bad that‚??s for sure, we arrived early on the Friday on a Goth weekend so parked our car in their car park and popped in to just let them know we had arrived. We were told we were in a certain room however another room on the next floor down was available so if we wanted to change we could, the receptionist Alison suggest that we have a look at both rooms then pop back and tell her our decision, so we did and opted for the alternative room.
