Stayed 1 night on business and it was a decent enough stay. Bar area is small and no comfy chairs / tv so you tend to eat and go to your room. Food was food however..... good value for money I thought. Car parking is the biggest issue. Only a small car park out back although you can get a ticket to park all night In the local pub car park which is just down the road. Breakfast is standard Hi Express. .... I grabbed and went so didn't really get chance to see everything on offer. Would I stay... Read more

Staff very friendly, room quite spacious, beds very soft and squidgy but comfortable. Very clean. Lovely large shower (no bath). The bathroom door doubled as the toilet door which I found nicely quirky! You have a choice of pillows - firm or soft. Average tea and coffee making facilities (no biscuits though!). Breakfast was included in the room rate so I was very pleased with that - it made it a much better deal than some "budget" hotels in the same area. I wouldn't really recommend the scramb... Read more

We stayed over one night at the weekend - just bed and breakfast. Room was on the top floor overlooking the railway lines. Standard Holiday Inn Express - clean, everything worked, and surprisingly we didn't get disturbed by train noise. In the morning we could hear local trains if we really listened out for them, but not at a disturbance level. Breakfast was usual HIE - limited range of cereals, fruit, dairy, and hot food; but we just wanted to eat and go. Car Parking very limited although I'm... Read more

Hotel is tucked away in a dark backstreet with a poorly lit surrounding area and not a welcoming facade and although the staff are friendly enough it is bleak. The rooms are just about adequate in size for single occupancy in a double but wardrobe space is very limited.Clean and tidy rooms but just about ok to sleep in and nothing else. Bar and restaurant area plastic and soulless which is probably why no one was using them plus the food is expensive.breakfast was a very limited choice and poor q... Read more

We chose this accommodation because it was closest for us to The Harry Potter Tour. By road or rail the location was easy to find. The rail station is 5 minutes walk away and by car you come off the M25 on to the A411 and straight into Watford The accommodation is set back from the main road, but a tad close to the rail station at the rear. We could hear the trains thunder through, but for us this was not a major problem the double glazing did help to reduce the noise a lot The room was typ... Read more

The hotel was booked through a booking company rather than directly as part of a trip to the very local Warner Bros tour. The first impression of the hotel, the car park, is not the best, small and awkwardly situated at the end of a narrow lane. That said there were several spaces and we parked without an issue. Inside the hotel was much better and the staff were very welcoming on arrival. The room was a decent size for us and our 2 daughters and the facilities all worked well. The bathroom ... Read more

I did worry about the train noise before booking and read about similar feedbacks online. The hotel replied to say they are improving facilities to reduce the noise. However, my room in the 7th floor is still significantly affected. If you are a light sleeper, it is better to look elsewhere.

We stay in Holiday Inns a lot and would not be in a hurry to rush back here. I would suggest paying a bit extra and using the other Holiday Inn near the station. Service was fine, as was general cleanliness and breakfast was the usual Holiday Inn Express offering. However, when we entered the room you were greeted with a smell of mould from the bathroom. Although we couldn't locate the cause it was akin to rotting wood in old houses. It was a warm night so we decided to turn the temp down on the... Read more

The hotel itself was reasonable, breakfast was OK. But the staff looked bored and uninterested. £5 parking fee. This is not on the website. The reception was particularly robotic, no eye contact at all. I had booked a double room but was given a twin. No apologies, take it or leave. Nothing wrong with the room, just not what I'd paid for. Breakfast 'choice' was scrambled eggs, sausage and beans. Nothing else, which was poor. So only 3/5 from me. Plenty of room for improvement. Won't be back.

I don't expect much from a Holiday Inn Express when I'm staying for business but even so I was pretty unimpressed. When staying solo for business all you really want is facility to iron a shirt, reasonable room service, a decent breakfast and a comfy bed. I'll acknowledge that the beds are fine and the choice of firm or soft pillows is nice. That's where it stops though really. We opted for this hotel for its proximity to the Warner Brothers Studios tour. The rooms were nice enough, a tad cozy, but fine for what we needed. The breakfast offerings worked out well enough with a variety of items such as eggs, sausage, toast, yogurt, fruit, and cold cereals. It worked well as a stop off place prior to the tour.

Stayed here on business for 2 nights, hotel is clean and comfortable, the only downside is the very small parking spaces and not many of them for a 90 odd room hotel, it is right near the Watford junction train station and although you hear the occasional high speed train it is not too bad, Breakfast is adequate.

This hotel has continuous noise from road works which will be ongoing for months. For anyone who's a light sleeper I would not recommend this place at all. I stayed here with the kids after a Harry Potter Stuido Tour. Good location and easy to find with parking onsite. We really enjoyed our short stay, the staff were very welcoming and the room was a good standard. We eat in the restaurant and the food was well priced and good. Breakfast was a buffet and a nice spread - the kids were very happy. In all I would recommend this hotel and use again !

Stayed her for 1 night as myself and my partner were visiting the Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio Tour. Perfect location if your doing the tour as the hotel is a 5 minute walk from Watford Junction station. The bus which takes you to the tour goes from stop 4 at the bus stop and is just £5 for an adult return. Our room was clean, plenty of space and all the staff were extremely friendly.

Hi shame I love the holiday inn chain but this hotel is a little too noisy! My room was I the 7th floor and it is just too close to Watford junction station. You can hear trains early morning and late at night. Hotel is clean and breakfast is ok. Parking is difficult but safe. Staff excellent and very pleasant. In another location it would be great!

Have stayed here before and will again! It is a great Holiday Inn Express. Comfortable, clean rooms - even the sofa bed was comfortable. Watford Junction station is just round the corner and it's about a 10 minute walk into the town centre / theatre. Breakfast is standard sausage, beans and scrambled egg - well organised and not as manic as other Holiday Inn Express'. Staff are friendly. Parking is limited but £10 for 2 days was very good value. Great stay.

Stayed here in August with my Mum. We were visiting family who live in Watford. We travelled to Watford by train so it was great to be able to walk straight from the station to the hotel in about 5 minutes. Room was clean and bright and beds were comfy. The air con was good too. Breakfast is included and is ok, the coffee wasn't so good however, straight from a machine. Only sausages, scrambled eggs and beans are hot, but toast and fruit and other items are available as a self service breakfast ... Read more

I suppose by Holiday Inn standards this is meant to be a budget hotel. I'd contest that based on the tariff but even assuming that's how they're positioning it is it really necessary to have a restaurant and bar area that has all the ambience of a dentists waiting room? Ultra bright halogen lights, bland piped music, uncomfortable looking chairs and a tv on the wall with the sound turned down all made me want to scream 'Get me out of here now!' Which is a pity given that the options outside for ... Read more

Stayed as part of a Harry Potter package. Very uncomfy sofa bed so kids didn't sleep a wink which resulted in a spoilt experience at Harry Potter the next day. All attempts at complaining via the proper channels have been met with very unsatisfactory responses and have been, largely, ignored. Feel we have been totally fobbed off with seemingly no means of redress. Do not go here!

We booked 2 rooms as a family of 4 adults visiting Harry Potter Warner Bros and this hotel was close by. Stayed just the one night so we could get to the Studios easily. Certainly is close and only took 10/15 minutes in the morning to get there. Car parking is very limited and we were fortunate enough to get the last space available - very tight to park. On arriving we were greeted by a police car outside and a number of officers in the building apparently (listening ears on because no membe... Read more
