This hotel is set in an old building which was probably really nice in its day and remained generally functional. The staff were very helpful which counterbalanced the negatives about this hotel which were: someone had left a welcome deposit in the toilet on arrival to my room, no bath plug in the room - staff secured one for me but when I put it in I could see why it was missing in the first place - water was a 'rust' colour. The remote for the 'very old' TV did not work and after a good ten mi... Read more

My room, buried in a maze of corridors with tired carpets, was peaceful. The people were nice, the breakfast was okay, I had a nice big bath that could easily be filled with hot water, but everything else was about as grim as it gets. This place really needs some serious investment. It's quite cheap, though.

We loved the atmosphere and the character of the hotel. Such a shame from the management side to go for the "cheapish" option when you have such a wonderful place at your disposal! It is a waste of an historical building! We loved the carpet with the quotes of arms of the hotel, the frame in the room to explain the history of the room (it was the number 115)... Even the Bar area could probably be a great place... A lot of potential but the actual situation is so disappointing: No heater ( aft... Read more

The other reviews already spell it out. The rooms are grubby, tired, scabby. Bath water was brownish. Filthy walls. Beds were comfortable enough. No serious complaints for £55 for two of us, including parking, dead opposite Warwick Castle. It did the job. I heard from a local that it , or part of it, is being rebuilt as apartments, which would explain the total lack of investment.

Yes, I did say B&B. As it's more like a B&B than an hotel. ( no offence to B&B's as I've stopped in some lovely ones in the past) The reception staff was very friendly upon arrival and the free parking is a big bonus. The bar is very basic with not basic prices. A wine and a pint of lager £9:50!! The room could have done with a bit of updating but it served its purposes. The breakfast next morning was fine, but should have gone to weatherspoon round the corner instead. But on the whole, for... Read more
