The hotel is run down and tatty. The bed was clean but everything else is beyond saving in my opinion. Most things could be forgiven given the price however something which I do not think is acceptable in this day and age is to charge for a facility when you cannot provide the standard basics. I tried to have a shower and left the water running for up to 15 minutes with no hot water coming through at all, it didn't even get luke warm, I tried to run a bath but the water was still cold and was a ... We stayed in a family room for one night. The room was well equipped and staff very helpful and organised. The cost of the room was £40 and given the price the stay was great. It wasn't luxurious but you would expect that for the price, we had everything we needed for a one night stay.

Stayed for one night last weekend. Loads of reviews about the hot water, I agree if you have no hot water it's not acceptable. We were in 205 which had an electric power shower so we were fine (I'd recommend you ask for this on booking) as we had no hot water for basin or bath. Even taps left open for over 30 mins produced nothing, they have an obvious boiler issue. However positives were - clean - friendly staff - as central as you can get - 60 quid (unbelievable value in Warwick at a weeken... Read more

The Hotel is an Old one, wooden stairs and walls, looks nice but services are good too, very friendly attendants, Not a very good view, location is not too awesome, and the town entirely is too old fashion for me. But it is a nice place for those that would want to have a quiet holiday.

That's the best this hotel has to offer. The interior beyond reception is poor and tatty. A local said it's due to be knocked down for housing, so I am sorry for the staff who were extremely nice, and people wanting to stay in the heart of Warwick on a budget. No evening restaurant, but breakfast really nice, the poached eggs passed the test for me. Plenty of good restaurants nearby.

Back in the day this must have been something special but now it is, as admitted by the friendly receptionist, ' a bit tired'. Really needs investment as the location and free parking are really good. There is a warning about the hot water but we ran for ages then it just stopped without even getting warm. We were given a reasonable discount for the water - my husband had to boil a kettle to shave. The room was fine really, dated bathroom but rare to have a hotel bathroom with a window. What it... I cannot believe that this place is still open in England. They should close it down. I havent been to a dirtiest hotel than this in my life. Not even in Asia! Unfortunately, I hadnt planned my visit in Warwick and all the hotels were fully booked. So eventually I ended up to the Lord Leycester Hotel. I couldnt imagine it would be so bad. The boiler in the bathroom was broken. The walls were very dirty, the room looked horrible and very noisy because of the street. Not to mention that in the mor... Read more

It was in October 2015 we stayed the hotel was fine. We checked in our vehicle at reception. 2 months later we get a parking charge the hotel were sorry but they will cancel it. We got another reminder and another and then an enforcement civil charge, then solicitors all the while the hotel are promising to sort this out. Giving 1 excuse after another why they haven't got round to it. Its now 8 months later and still not resolved, Bailiffs calling to withdraw goods still the hotel have not sorte... Read more

Avoid this place like the plague! Nothing like the website (false advertising at its best) I arrived with my two children at 5.30pm after a day at the Castle. All looked ok on check in. The room we were given was room 203 on the 3rd floor. As we approached the 2nd floor the hotel could have been a completely different hotel. Dirty shabby carpet, tired unkept corridors. The room at first glace was tired but ok (ish) then I noticed grubby floor majorly crack lintel and dampon the wall near the w... Read more

Let's say right at the outset that the staff we met (one receptionist) were great, the location in the very centre of Warwick is superb & the free car parking right at the side/rear of the hotel is very handy indeed. Those are the positives & I acknowledge there are a few. However ..... The roof clearly leaks badly (water stains all down the wall/electrics of our room), there is NO hot water no matter what you do, the decor is in a pitiful state & whilst the cleaners clearly do a good job they... Stopped over for one night to break up long journey home. Found this hotel on Laterooms. Really big place, night guy very friendly and helpful, as was the young lady at reception in the morning. Hotel very tired but good value for us. Struggled with getting hot water for the bath, I gave up with the shower but not the end of the world. Cant help feel that it's still operating as workmen/reps stay there during the week. A bit of investment would transform it.

Basil was missing but a sense of humour needed, how has this death trap aloud to open its doors? This is no joke the place is falling down around you, corridors have little signs for escape, rooms have water running down walls, electrics some work some don't (when asked does the kettle work o yes but that plug doesn't always work) (can't get tv to work you need new batteries take them out of another one as haven't got any). I took a number of photos but no need to post as others have covered th... Read more

We were worried after reading some bad reviews but like many say you get what you pay for. It's cheap & located in the centre of town with its own car park which are all positives, plus the staff were very polite but it seems a very tired hotel. If it had a good refurb the hotel could be great, the rooms need a good redecorating desperately & have paper thin walls !! If you get a 2nd floor room you get an electric shower which is essential as the hot water takes ages ! Also the breakfast wasn... Read more

The only positive comment I have is the convenient location - in Warwick town centre. Hotel is desperately in need of refurbishing, carpets are shabby, walls are very thin, and there is no hot water on the third floor..!! When I called reception I was told to let the shower run for 10 minutes; this didn't work so I had a cold shower. I will not stay here again.

Desperate need of some TLC. Great location but first room we were given had no lights! Second room hadn't been prepared. Water for bath was bright yellow from the copper pipes. Tap on sink turned round completely when turned on. Bath panel not screwed on and flapped loudly when the wind blew. Mirror in bathroom was too high for my 5'3" and I could only see the top of my head and the gap between the window and secondary glazing was filthy. The communal areas all needed painting and carpets... Read more

The sale of hotel fittings in a shabby room on the way in from the carpark pretty much sums it up. Apparently the hotel is due to close at the weekend - just as well! There is black mould on the peeling walls of public areas, the 'drains' smell in the bathroom is awful. This hotel is beyond tired and closure is overdue. If you have planned a stay here over the next few days , cancel and find somewhere else.
