Quite dissapointed that i booked this hotel through booking .com then found later by luckily checking the e-mails that the hotel had cancelled the booking using a reason that they had overbooked hmmm thought this only happened in spain, what the reason was can only assume they actually had a better booking for 2 people instead of the just 1 person that i was, has the was a business booking was difficult afterwards to find another suitable booking for where i wanted to be, and cost me a lot more,... Used to be a lovely place but now very shabby - in need of a serious overhaul and some money investing back into it - curtains hanging off the rails, un-ironed nets hooked up at windows, cobweb covered lamps, fingermarked mirrors, holes in the chairs in the bar and just a general air of decay. Noise from other rooms was disruptive - could hear conversations and tv's. Staff when they were around were very friendly however the reception desk was generally unmanned and you had to wait for someone... Read more

Well it all started when we arrived. Guests hanging around the entrance smoking with cans in their hands, no one on reception as she was out smoking with them. Very rude young lady then checked us in, she clearly did not want to be there. The hotel was dirty, run down and smelly. Room: dusty, smelly, stained carpets and mattress, mold in bathroom, very tired and old, dirty toilet, door lock not working.. looked like the door had been forced open. Breakfast: buffet style breakfast, we waited for... Read more

What a disgrace the hotel and staff are . Please do not book here the place is filthy. We arrived and I paid for our room by credit card. We were then shown to our room. We had two young children with us. The room was disgusting far too much to write down but please believe me it is a health hazard and can't believe places like this still exist in this country. We got our bags and l asked for my money back. I was told by the manager he couldn't give me a refund on my card but he would sort it w... Read more

Two of my staff stayed in this hotel for one night. They were due to stay for 4 nights in total but it was totally unacceptable. Checked out after night one. Stains on the bedding, hairs in the bathroom, and mould in the room. I requested a refund from the management who verbally authorised this. We have been waiting for over a month for this refund and have spend many hours and made many calls to the hotel who just say the refund has been requested through HQ. Whenever I ask for this in... I stayed at this hotel for business trip. The prices were the cheapest i could find for this area. The location is actually very good. POSITIVES - Location - Staff were nice - Cheap price - Breakfast was nice but 1 star hygiene rating. - There is a pub at the walking distance that does nice food. - Free wifi that works - Free parking NEGATIVES - Dirtiest hotel i have ever been in. That is official. - Kitchen closed for lunch/dinner. But having a 1 star rating it could be ... Read more

We needed a cheap hotel close to Irlam to attend a music festival Yes the hotel is basic yes it needs a bit of TLC but for the price it was just what we needed. The beds were comfy, the room was clean, full English breakfast is extra but is well worth it & is self service from a hot plate Staff we found were helpful & friendly As all we wanted was a bed, shower & breakfast it suited us Would use again next yr if we came to the festival again

Ok, it's a budget hotel and very tired looking. Is it as bad as the previous reviews? Receptionist - pleasant enough, but she was the only member of staff I actually saw throughout my one night stay. Room - clean...sort of. Looked like it hadn't been hoovered for a couple of days, there was a half drunk cup of water on the bedside table and a bedspread and a towel seemingly thrown on the floor next to the bed, presumably forgotten about during cleaning. Bathroom - clean enough although the show... Read more

The Paddington House Hotel must be the worst hotel I have ever booked with Agoda and I have booked over 100, never again, the bathroom was not fit to use and the hotel was not clean, We would not stop there again if it was free.

Hotel is full of damp, smells, UN helpful staff, breakfast keeps changing times no one around first thing to help you. The bar is the only modern place. The quests we have seen looks like it's being used as a knocking shop. Loud music constantly and stook in the 1940s. Will not be visiting again!!!!

Old and uncared for. In desperate need of some tlc. The room was scruffy, the bed uncomfortable, the furnishings old and stuck firmly in the 90's. The shower was shocking, mouldy grout, rusty enclosure, mildewed shower curtain. Stained towels..... There was a wedding reception at the same time as we stayed. The noise from the reception was plainly audible and intrusive while we were trying to get some sleep in the awful bed. We booked for 2 nights but left after one.

You pay for what you get here. we paid £36 for bed and breakfast. The hotel looks like it has not been updated since the 70's. old fashioned lift, like the ones you see in horror films, we didn't trust it so used the stairs. Reception area was a mess and not professional. The banister felt like it would fall over if pushed hard enough. there was a maze of corridors. The room smelt of smoke, even though there is a notice on reception saying that fine of £200 would be charged if you smoked in r... Read more

I stayed here with my friend for 2 nights while we were working at a nearby festival for the weekend. The rooms had been booked by a girl in the office. From the outside the place is a hideous concrete block, tired, dirty, overgrown, weeds everywhere. The decor and furniture is pre 1970. You take your life in your hands using the lift - if you are brave enough to use it the door sticks so you won't be able to get out. OMG this has to be the worst hotel I have ever been in! All the doors on my floor had been broken into, including mine. Black mold in the shower. Cracks in the ceiling above the bed. Disgusting stains on the walls ( which I dread to think what they could be)! No light bulbs or shades above the bed. All in all I demanded my money back (after a battle) and I didn't stay there, the best thing that could happen to this place is for it to be bulldozed to the ground! How this place can call it's se... Read more

I am not sure if there has been a change of management but the hotel, after making significant strides in improvement, has sadly slipped backwards. The window frames in my room were literally rotten to the core, and the whole décor needs some updating or at least cleaning. There was no chef for any evening meals. Standards need improving all round.

Quite likely one of the worst places I have been in since I was a backpacking teenager! Virtually every door on our floor had been kicked in or jimmied at one point or other and the lock on our room was so badly damaged the door barely closed. Floors and halls were fifty and the shower was a moldy disgrace. Surprisingly, the bed linen appeared to be pretty clean, but the falling plaster, lack of light bulbs (and indeed lack of fixtures to hold the bulbs) the greasy window and those kicked in ... I stayed one night at the hotel and it was awful. The room was filthy, I had no option but to stay as it was late and I didnt know the area I was in Warrington on buisness. Having walked in the room and seen how dirty it was I checked the bedding and I found a blood stained pillow. As you will see from the photos it's appalling and a matter of health and safety. I spoke to the night staff who told me the manager was in that day and I was to complain to her. I've emailed and email to no av... Read more

Very tired and dated in much need of a complete overall, room on top floor in heat wave no air con, room door needed maintenance difficult to open and close because it didn't fit properly. Cups in room not washed up or changed during our stay. It was very cheap compared to other hotels in the area, but it was very much a case of you get what you pay for. The one saving grace of this hotel was they did a very good breakfast.

Given the price we paid, and some recent reviews, we were very pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean (apart from the windows), the bedding and towels were immaculate and the breakfast was plentiful. Didn't expect miracles for the amount paid but basic standards to be adhered too and a half decent place to crash out prior to and after the event. I've stayed here a number of times for work over the last year, each time I was attracted by the cheap price, and each time I regretted booking it the moment I arrived. This could be a lovely place, but it's really run down and dirty. I think the local council use it for emergency housing as a lot of guests didn't look the type to be paying £35 a night. The first time I stayed there was a couple "at it" in the room next door, and the walls are so incredibly thin I could hear everything ??? ... Read more

Yes the hotel is dated, yes there are areas that are in need of renovation and yes some of the fixtures in the room need renewing. However, I paid £38 for B&B and didn't expect the Ritz. Yet again, I've looked at websites to select a hotel for a business trip to Liverpool, found what seemed to be a nice picturesque one which turned out to be a budget, 'workingman's' hotel!. Not that there was anything wrong with it to be didnt profess to be anything which it wasnt, was clean and tidy but sparse, lacked any atmosphere and the facilities were basic.
