Just had an overnight stay in the Holiday Inn, Swindon. Stayed here before as travelled by train and short walk from station. Very friendly greeting from receptionists and our room spotless. Only basic but all that is needed for an overnight stay. Breakfast very good and staff worked hard clearing tables and replenishing food. Would recommend.

My wife and I spent one night at the Holiday Inn Swindon on Saturday 07 May 2016.The hotel is a little tired and could do with a makeover but this is made up by the wonderful staff they have at the hotel. From reception to restaurant and bar and also the breakfast staff and cleaners were so welcoming and made our stay a relaxing one. I must say the new shower room in the bathroom is a plus with plenty of room and no shower curtain sticking to you. The restaurant food and bar meals were of a good... Read more

The first impression of this hotel when we arrived was an extremely tired place. When I walked along the corridor the thought it could do with new carpets. Their was one door in the swimming pool which was rusty. The health club was dirty. It had chipped tiles with mould in the showers. The shower was very not very warm. The restaurant was expensive considering the type of food, however the manager of the restaurant at breakfast was helpful. Overall I was DISSAPOINTED with the hotel. I would exp... Read more

Old style Holiday Inn that has seen very little work since it was built resulting in a very dated and tired hotel. Rooms small and basic. Bathrooms tiny and in some rooms I have stayed in, they need work to bring them up to the standard of other hotels at this price point - which can be expensive. In terms of value and more modern alternatives best alternatives would be either of the Holiday Inn Express hotels also in Swindon. Also, if you are a member of the loyalty scheme don't ever expect ... Read more

Normally chain hotels are a bit souless but this one was a delight due to the friendliness of all the staff but mainly those on reception. The room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. The leisure centre while small and showing its age was a bonus. It is extremely well located for the M4 and the road network to the east of Swindon.

Last minute booking but expensive for 1 night £145 ( inclusive breakfast). Can't fault any of service or amenities but you are paying a premium for it. Before booking here try Sun Inn on other side of road. Cost of room half the price of Holiday Inn

Arrived late but a warm welcome at the desk. Very quick check in. Rooms well appointed and bed comfortable. Average wifi speed. Didn't eat at the restaurant but breakfast was reasonable and again the staff were attentive and pleasant. Checkout was no problem and handled efficiently. Not sure why the music from reception was piped outside so you could here it in the car park? I'm usually confident in the Holiday Inn brand, but I now realise that some (at least one!) hotels are in serious need of upgrade. This one was very tired indeed. My room was small, and the bathroom very small. In fact I had to practice a special manoeuvre tp exit from the bathroom after using the shower due to its door arrangement. Tired is OK, but this was over-priced at an average £130 per night b&b. Why did I pay that? Because it was close to where I was working, and I assumed it would be ... Read more

Lovely family stay, for what we paid it was perfect. A little TLC needed in some areas but clean and staff very friendly with good facilities. Swimming pool and leisure facilities were good, would be nice to have a family changing area though. Breakfast was good, staff again very accommodating and made the kids hot chocolate each morning. We ate one evening meal here and it was good. Good location to get to local attractions, shame you can't really walk safely to water park over road or pub.

After reading reviews for this hotel I was a little worried, especially after I found out that there was no elevator. I am recovering from surgery for a broken knee so when we checked in we asked for a room on the ground floor. They ended up giving us a handicap accessible room which worked great for me because the bathroom had 9 grab bars. People who have reviewed this hotel say it is dated, which it is, but it makes up for it in how you are treated by the employees. They were very helpful and ... Read more

Room was small, pokey with a strange smell. The carpet was black with dirt and had huge stains on it. The whole room was tired, dated and borderline grubby. Would not recommend!! In fact I left and didn't even stay the night. Price was over £100 for the night and was definitely not worth it.

After staying at this hotel it's a real shame that this hotel has been left to get so bad. I tend to never suggest the negative but really HI are you really sure that you are happy with the state of your hotel. The food is great the service is great! But the rooms, reception public areas are so tired it as if it has big black rings under its eyes! Please please please upgrade now the open lounges available in so many HI hotels are so much more appealing!! #upgadetoday!

Firstly, I would echo the comments made by others that this place is due for a bit of a refurbishment. However, the reception and bar areas area perfectly fin and all I would say is that our metal window frames were a bit shabby. Apart from that the room was perfectly fine, with a sofa bed for our daughter and, most importantly it was nice and quiet. Arrived at hotel, and Male receptionist had an attitude right from the start. Didnt recognise my IHG membership level. Was given a disability room, which had a old glass of orange juice lying in the fridge, and the sink wasn't the cleanest. Complimentary room internet is one of the slowest I have used. Positives, the bar food, and staff are excellent. The Breakfast and staff are also excellent. Air Conditioning in room, only seems to come on for 30 mins, then switches off.

And you will have to pay the fair price too.Everyone was drinking it. Sadly I have decided not to spend money and can not comment on taste. Coffee machine looked mighty too. If you book an conference room, all your guests have free access to the pool! 350 a day. Enjoy.

This hotel is in serious need of renovation. Booked a Standard room which was more akin to a Holiday Inn Express - tolietries provided were a wall mounted soap dispenser, and the bathroom made your under stairs cupboard look roomy. In common with many Holiday Inns in the UK, they have now brought in Parking Eye to monitor their car park. I have regular meetings with local business leaders in the hotel (buying several coffees, sometimes lunch) and this month, after a 2 hour meeting, I subsequently received a penalty notice for £100. It is impossoible to have a conversation with Parking Eye - they simply have an automated message to receive payments. The hotel itself (Belal, duty manager) was singularly unhelpful in sortin...
