I had had an extremely tiring day to get to my room after a tedious check in to find that after a shower the hair dryer didn't work. Reported to reception who said they would deal with it within ten minutes. 30 minutes later still sat with soggy hair I made a second call. It happened that somebody had turned off the main switch. How was I to know that. Then neither of our room keys would work. Then the lifts wouldn't work. This the culmination to a day when at lunchtime our ordered lunch didn't... Read more

This is a hotel to avoid unless you like sleeping on a rock hard bed that kills your back, being woke up in the night by traffic outside and drunk guests inside. Lack of decent customer service... Rang down and asked for more tea and milk, to be told to come to reception and get it.... When I've just got out the shower and had a young baby so went without my cuppa that morning. Why is there no bacon at breakfast?

I stayed at The Holiday Inn Express with my partner on a busy Friday night. We originally had booked elsewhere but on arrival they had no record of our booking and had no rooms available (thanks booking.com!) so we had to call The Holiday Inn Express at the last minute and thankfully they had a room at short notice. Check in was quick and easy and despite only having asked and paid for a standard double room, we were given a large double room with sofa bed which was a nice touch after the after... Read more

I start by saying I stay in hotels a lot. This was a great stay for my son and I , the staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean and comfy, great view across Swindon , breakfast was really good and presented with care...crispy bacon which I've actually never seen in a hotel of this calibre before. I would imagine the majority of the above positive points about this holiday inn are the work of Bode, I'm guessing he's the manager .... Bode is one of those rare members of the hospital... The staffs are extremely unfriendly, rude and not helpful at all. The service is bad. This hotel was booked by the company admin so we had to say in it but I have highlighted to the management that this hotel should be removed from the corporate list. I am sure you will find better hotels close by, don't take chances with this one. The key card doesn't work well, it needs resetting every 2 days. Local to the railway station, so ideal if you need to travel. Nothing much around the area for anything else. The rooms are fine whilst the general facilities in the hotel are ok.. Parking is however away from the hotel in the main station car park.

I had a business trip to Swindon and stayed at Holiday Inn, City Centre Swindon. The hotel is centrally placed and extremely well. However, the air-conditioning of the hotel is down all across and will not be replaced before September. This was news to me and was told only after I reached my room. Do not know whether other customers were treated the same way. Did not expect Holiday Inn to get any customer for granted. Looked like they did a favour by providing me a fan.

Parking is at the nearby train station, but it's poorly explained and I don't know how you're meant to know which car park to use. The guy on reception was very friendly but his command of English left me struggling to understand him. The bedroom was very average, but the lighting in the bathroom was very poor. (I work in the lighting industry and cheap lamps with low wattage are ridiculous). Poor selection of draught beer/lager comapred to the many other Holiday Inn Express I have stayed in. I ... The staff are very helpful at this hotel. The rooms are basic but very clean, however, the beds are so uncomfortable. Having a bad back I had to put two duvets on top of the mattress and it was still uncomfortable, so I hardly slept. I wouldn't stay again for this reason I'm afraid. The facilities are good and the breakfast is sufficient. Good for business trips and if you don't suffer from a bad back!

I stayed in this Holiday Inn with a large group recently as a quick stop overnight whilst working on a job. I was not involved with the booking of the hotel so obviously do not know the cost of the stay per room. The location of the hotel was good and very central to the local town centre. Everything you could need was nearby. The staff were friendly and professional and happy to help. There is no set car park for the hotel but instead a large car park over the road that is paid for. First off I have to say that the staff was amazing at this hotel, there were absolutely NO complaints dealing with anyone that we dealt with. The room was clean (double room with sofa bed for our children) My only complaint was that the linens provided for the sofa bed had urine and blood stains on them-I didn't notify housekeeping, we just made due without those linens but I was surprised that those passed housekeeping. Easy to reach Holiday Inn Express about 10 minutes walk from Swindon train station (driving may take a little longer due to one-way system). Location is the main plus here, but bear in mind it's also located very close to some of the nosier pubs in the town centre - if you aren't a sound sleeper ask for a room on a top floor (or look elsewhere). Room was fine, average for an express hotel and staff were friendly - checking in and out was hassle free. There isn't parking on site, so if travell... Read more

Visit Swindon on a regular occasion for multiple nights most weeks. This isn't my first choice of hotel to stay with and it was clear why. The location is great, stone throw to the office and less than a 15 min walk to local restaurants and the gym. This hotel is OK for a night-- came to a deserted counter after figuring out that we had to go up a few floors via lift, and we had a hard time finding a place to recharge our phone, but the room was clean and just fine for the one-night stay. And, one of the two lifts is closed to guests from 10-4 so they can use it to service rooms, which was a bit tough since the hotel was full of eastern Europeans on a tour that were having a hard time figuring out the lift's controls. Hotel is enough. Not bad at all. Rooms very small, there is no closet, poor in amenities. Close to the shops and train station but not in the best part of the city, if its not for business is better to be in the old town of Swindown. Suficiente.
