even thought the room temperature was a bit warm in the morning, everything else was perfect! fluffy bed, clear bath room, decent pool, but it was a Saturday, therefore, steam room , sauna and the spa was packed. will recommend to book very early in advance if you would like treatments

I decided to treat myself and a friend for her birthday to a spa weekend. The hotel on the website looked lovely and on arrival it did not disappoint. The hotel and grounds were lovely and considering this hotel is in the heart of Stratford it was quiet. I would highly recommend this hotel and will be going back with my husband.

Reception poor , took them 50 minutes waiting in the courtyard to correct their mistake . Further ten minutes to correct another mistake. Booking was wrong in the spa and did not match the e mail times they sent me so we wasted another hour . The therapist was very good but the label spa is perhaps pushing it slightly - it's a waiting room with comfortable chairs , magazines and selection of drinks but no glasses. The steam room is down stairs and like my bathroom with a steamy bath

I stayed here on business and it was a great hotel to stay at. The hotel itself is immaculately presented in keeping with the rustic feeling of the original entrance building. The bar and dining areas are tastefully decorated again in keeping with the historic feel. The room was well equipped, clean and tidy and the bed was lovely, soft and comfortable. Location wise, parking is plentiful and just a short walk from the town with a picturesque walk across the canal. The leisure centre attached ha... Read more

Make sure that the reception dtails all discounts on the final bill. Otherwise a pleasnt stay. The food in the restaiurant was excelent. Location is excellent. Many residents took advantage that this is a dog friendly hotel.

Very attractive hotel, great location. Our room was in the new part which we found a bit average and a bit tired and it was adjacent to what I guess was the laundry room where there was a loud mechanical droning noise; Would have asked to move if we were staying longer than one night. Paid £230, guess that's Stratford going rate. Easy walk into town, ate at the RSC rooftop restaurant - very nice all round.

Nice venue but not as good as it looked in the advertisement. Evening food lovely, breakfast average and served by the same team that had been there until 11 pm the night before. Worn hall carpet, poor shower and reception staff that weren't very helpful.

We stayed here for a night whilst visiting family in Stratford. The location of the hotel is excellent allowing for an easy walk into the town. The exterior of the hotel and the gardens are very pleasing but unfortunately the interior does not invite such a response. The reception staff were rather curt and not particularly friendly. The interior of the hotel is tired. The carpets were worn and not very clean. Our room was adequate. There was no safe in the room, the hair dryer only worked inter... Read more

The Alveston Manor Hotel is an ideal location for a stay in Stratford upon Avon with a few minutes walk from the river, RSC theatre and all the various Shakespearean themed attractions. We found our rooms comfortable and had two pleasant nights at the Hotel. We had an initial issue with some misleading information given by reception but this was quickly dealt with by the on duty manager. I felt the breakfast was overpriced at £ 19.50 for fairly average fare.

We used the hotel for a business meeting for 8 people. The service was excellent. The room had everything we needed with refreshment station across the corridor. Lunch was served in the restaurant and could not fault it. Would definitely recommend Alveston Manor and will certainly use again in the future.

I rang the hotel to check where the room was having read the poor reviews of the rooms in the out buildings. Our room was indeed going to be out there but I was told I could upgrade to stay in t... Poor service in the spa lead to missed pre booked treatment. Room service breakfast cold and therefore inedible. Bottled water overpriced in restaurant and not advised until bill came. When complaining on checkout just received a mumbled apology which made me think they didn't care.

Me and my wife booked for a stay away at Alveston manor for our 1st wedding anniversary. We were greeted with a very warm welcome from everyone. The room we stayed in was very clean and with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast felt chaotic despite adequate waiting staff all of whom were very helpful. 2nd day breakfast was freshly cooked , day one had a degree of re-heating making it of poorer standard. Hotel is in a great location. Parking is terrible, as people are also using it for the gym etc. So once we arrived, we had to drive around waiting for people to leave. Room was very outdated, not at all luxurious to match the luxury price tag. All in all, it was an OK stay, we didn't encounter any problems, but I would look around for a bother hotel first.

As we checked in we were told that firstly we needed to settle a £95 out standing bill! Once we queried it we were told this was a mistake and nothing was owed. Pleasant oldy world look hotel, but like a rabbit warren inside. We stay there two nights as part of an Insight Bus Tour and was little disappointed. Some areas looked a bit tattered, with worn carpets and creaking floor boards of multiple levels, certainly would not suit anyone in a wheel chair or with difficulty walking. Nice room but really overpriced. At £245 a night, how do they have the nerve to charge 35 for poor breakfast or charge you to park. Really poor and greedy. The little things matter. No fridge in the room which I was told was just the way it was "with your room", equipment not working, and any hotel that advertises free wifi that it turns out is run by the cloud is in trouble. Stayed 2 nights in the Queen Elizabeth II suite, a feature room which was very comfortable. The main hotel building is very old and therefore you have to forgive the quirkiness and décor which, whilst in keeping, may not suit modernists.
