Lovely location, tidy lobby and bar, very tired rooms upstairs in desperate need of redecoration. We asked for an iron and ironing board as we were going out for dinner and it took over 30 mins to arrive and we chased it. Bar great but expensive (7.50 for a pint), very central we could walk everywhere which was fantastic.

This Hotel is for those that need a quiet stay, it is a bit out of town, require a cab or bus to get to the city center and bus stations, the closest airport is Birmingham. the location is a walking distance to seinsberey and other shops, and eateries too. This is good for families that are on a honey moon and want to be all alone.

I actually booked the wrong hotel. When we turned up here they couldn't find our booking and it turns out I'd book the express one on the outskirts (website misleading as I typed holiday inn Stratford upon Avon and booked the hotel that came up). Anyway we'd arrived early In Stratford and had a few drinks with lunch so I was unable to drive to the other hotel. I was able to cancel this booking but feel the hotel took advantage of the fact I couldn't drive to the other hotel and charged us an ext... Read more

Stayed overnight following a meeting and sat on the terrace with colleagues for a drink before walking into town. It was lovely and quiet and very comfortable. The walk into town was 10 minutes only. The reception area and bars are decorated well and made an impression. The room was next to the lift which is always something I dread but thankfully I wasn't too disturbed. The room itself was clean but could do with freshening up. Otherwise fab stay in excellent hotel.

It is the staff that can make or break any hotel; it is the staff that can add to or spoil your holiday. In this instance the staff at the Holiday Inn, Stratford upon Avon definitely went out of their way to ensure that our weekend break away was the most comfortable and easy going as it could possibly be. From the reception staff, through to the waiting and bar staff, they went the extra mile. The Housekeeping staff are often overlooked, however I complement them for the cleanliness of our room... Fairly modern building with plenty of parking. Adjacent to the river, the terrace provides a lovely view whilst having a drink or meal. All the staff encountered were lightbulb, friendly and efficient. The public areas are bright, spacious and comfortable. There are plenty of well equipped conference rooms of various sizes. The only let down was the accommodation. The second floor is decidedly run down with worn carpets and paintwork in the corridors and bedroom. The duvet cover had a hole and a... Read more

We have stayed here many times and love the central location on the river by Stratford. The lobby restaurant and bar have been refurbished in recent years and look very smart and modern. The upper floors housing the bedrooms could do with an update along with the rooms which are clean but slightly dated. Good location and good value for Stratford and we shall keep on returning

I stayed here for a 3 day conference. The communal areas were light bright and airy and the area outside the bar was delightful - not in the rain. The rooms were somewhat tired and the bathrooms more so. Mine did not have a fixed shower head, only a hand held shower head. It was adequate for what it was. I am not sure I would want to stay here unless I got a very good deal, or just wanted a bed for the night.

What a lovely hotel! Staff were very friendly and attentive especially angello who was working behind the bar on the night of our stay July 1st 2016. We were the last ones sat outside until 2am and at no point did he rush us. I think the rooms have just been renovated as they are beautiful and the breakfast is amazing. Beautiful outside seating area too. I will DEFINITELY be coming back here. Absolute bargain and you do not feel like you are in a holiday inn, it's so luxurious.

Since the major refurbishment this has become the place I stop at when having to stay over in Stratford Upon Avon, always been treated extremely well and rooms have been clean and well presented. Location is great too, as you are a short distance from the great restaurants on Sheep street. Rooms overlooking the river are best and the bar has a great patio area for summer evenings.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Stratford-upon-Avon for a conference. The hotel is well situated for exploring the charming town. The conference facilities are nice. The hotel is well located both for the RSC theatre and the town centre. The rooms are well sized but the quality of housekeeping (tired bed linen, missing toileteries, dirty basin, grubby glasses etc) is questionable . The hotel is currently undergoing renovation on the upper floors which might explain the indifferent standards. However the ground floor has already been re-furbished to an extremely high standard but the restaurant still serves a cooked breakfast that is cold and included the str... Read more

This Holiday Inn is placed along the river Avon -- a really lovely setting for an early evening's pre-dinner relaxation. Apparently the few floors leads to some extra walking to the elevators, but my evening and early morning here was a true joy. The quality of the buffet dinner and buffet breakfast was unexpected but really appreciated.

A very conveniently situated hotel: park your car and the town and RSC are a short walk across the road. The newly refurbished reception, restaurant and decking and seating by river are impressive though, sadly, smoking is allowed on the waterside area. Hopefully when the transformation to a Crowne Plaza is complete they will have a designated smoking area well away from where most of their guests might want to sit, chat, share a drink as well as the views of the river and passing boats, moorhen... This is one of the better Holiday Inn's and of course it is in a beautiful and historic town. I'm local to Stratford and many people had said how good the carvery was at the holiday inn so I decided to try it out. At £14.95 it sounds like a good price for a starter, main and pudding but this thought soon crumbled. The starter is a "help yourself" salad bar or the worst tasting watered down mushroom soup on the planet. For the carvery the beef was dry, over cooked and tasteless and so was the veg. After 2 poor courses I decided to avoid dessert. Avoid this place for a carvery and let it ... Read more

Ours was as far away as possible but the room was more than adequate. We had paid for breakfast but unfortunately the first morning there were so many people arriving at the same time that we had a long queue for a table and then had to queue for the breakfast . Next morning was much better with no queue and even t... Read more

My wife and I recently had a fabulous stay here and have only one very minor negative probably not even worthy of note, but as I personally like to give a fully objective view, I feel it must be mentioned. The hotel is very conveniently located close to the centre of Stratford and is easily accessible via the one-way traffic system. There was sufficient parking during our visit, but I was disappointed to see Chelsea Tractors parked in the disabled bays to the front of the hotel, not display... Read more

My other half works in Coventry mon-friday , so for half term and our sons birthday we booked into the crowne plaza. It was great , all the staff very welcoming, the room was a good size, plenty of room for the 3 of us, pool and jacuzzi nice, only downside was my son (11 yrs old) wasn't allowed in the gym , but it wasn't really a spoiler. The bar staff remembered our drinks after 2 rounds. Brilliant location to walk into stratford, we had a couple of bar snacks in the hotel and they were great... Read more

Having decided on the spur of the moment we decided to visit this hotel. Having not stayed there for some 4 years we were very impressed with the refurb that the hotel had been given. Check-in was very easy and staff welcoming. Rooms were very nice as was the breakfast the next morning. All in all a very good overnight stay. Would return and recommend to others

We reterned to this hotel for a weekend break, and it is now a crown plaza and we had a much more restfull nights sleep even though there was a ball on. Our room was far enough away and late night revelers did not disturb our stay. Much better stay this time around. So will return in the future. Thank you.

We chose this hotel for an overnight visit on our way to tour The Cotswolds. We were greeted by a friendly receptionist, and allocated a second floor room. The room was spacious with a king sized bed, an easy chair and an office chair to a work table. The bathroom was compact, and the towels large and fluffy. We went into the lounge in the early evening - comfortable and inviting, and the staff were not pushy but attentive. We didn't eat in in the evening, but the breakfast was excellent - ... Read more

Stayed here for 2 nights for a conference. The hotel is clean and tidy, staff friendly and the food provided in the restaurant was beautiful. Nice hotel and great location for the yown centre. They have a small gym with a pool and sauna. The grounds of the hotel are lovely right beside a river

Went to Stratford Upon Avon to go to the theatre and decided to stay here as it was close by. Room was very clean and comfortable and staff were friendly. Was especially pleased by the room service which provided good food at a reasonable price.

A short break in Stratford was made comfortable by such a nice hotel. The room was very clean and spacious, some nice touches such as water and chocolates. Service was wonderful and the evening dining was comfortable with very nicely cooked plates of food. The restaurant manager was very friendly and accommodating. The only downside was doors banging in the early morning which could be allieviated by soft closing doors but other than that an excellent place to stay.

The hotel has been refurbished to a really high standard and was a pleasure to stay in. Perfect location for a stroll round town and you can see the RSC from its reception. The staff were friendly and helpful, while the breakfast was of a good quality. We really enjoyed sitting on the decking with a drink from the bar and plan to return in the spring/summer. Even thought the pool wasn't very large we still enjoyed a swim.

We checked in after a very long trip down from Glasgow with a toddler. Check in was instant and pleasant. Our room was large and already prepared with the requested cot bed. Spotlessly clean and spacious with a separate "room" for the little one. My only complaint would be that the separate room windows did not seal and therefore at night was too cold to leave the baby in there so we moved the cot into the main room and still had plenty of space. We used the onsite pool which was adequate for ... Read more

Visited for a conference and was pleased and surprised at the venue. The rooms were large and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Little touches such as a box of chocolates the first night and a spray to aid sleep the second. A list of available toiletries available from reception was useful as I had forgotten toothpaste. The staff were helpful and friendly and the restaurant staff worked fast and effectively serving a large amount of people at one time.

My husband and I stayed here for our birthday weekend 18-20th Nov. We arrived and were greeted by a lovely friendly and efficient receptionist called Karolina. (Didn't manage to get her surname.) She gave us a lovely room with king size bed. I mentioned just briefly in passing that it must be my lucky day as it was my birthday....! After a full day and evening out, we arrived back in our room at around 9.30pm. We were greeted with a bottle of prosecco, chilling in an ice bucket and a lovely b... Read more

Top range hotel with excellent modenrn rooms very clean, the bed was a bit soft for me but it was huge. I sleep on very firm normally. great facilities and restaurant with excellent breakfast. All staff friendly and helpful, couldn't fault it. Situated centrally to easily walk to most of the Shakespearian sites around the town, lovely stay and the town is lovely.

Visited for a conference we attend annually and I've got to say this was the best venue yet. Staff were really helpful, beds were comfy, rooms all has a lovely view, food was excellent and we were given a tub of roses by way of an apology because the pool was being refurbished, although we could access the pool at the leisure centre for free. The hotel is well situated for walking distance to main thoroughfare in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Good hotel, comfortable and clean room, friendly staff, breakfast ok,but coffee machines not able to cope with volume of customers. Great location in middle of town, parking free now. Room rate has increased substantially since upgrade to Crowne Plaza from Holiday Inn.

My spouse and I had a wonderful weekend at this hotel. It is very conveniently located to the center of town and the RSC. The hotel is certainly well-cared for as everything was clean and fresh. Lastly, the staff was excellent. Specifically, we left some mobile chargers in the room and the staff sent them to us, via postal mail, for no extra charge. Thank you for that! We highly recommend the Crown Plaza!

I don't leave lots of reviews but I feel this hotel deserves one and a favourable one at that. The hotel is easy to find and is a short walk from the town centre and checking in was easy. The rooms are spacious, they have to be as the beds are massive and very comfortable with lots of pillows, a modern tv with good choice of programmes. All you need is in the room from an iron to tea and coffee making facilities and a stocked fridge if you choose to use it. Although we didn't have an evening mea... Read more

All the luxury and trappings you'd expect from a large hotel in this area. which is extremely convenient for the town and theatre. I was disappointed with my shower but maybe I was unlucky. I also asked to move tables at breakfast due to cold draughts (but it was the coldest morning of the year!) Otherwise everything was up to expectations in this unaccustomed style of living.

We were visiting the area for my fathers birthday and were very pleased with the hotel. Throughout our visit we found most of the staff to be very helpful and attentive. Rooms were good, clean and tidy. We had made a couple of requests prior to arrival and all of these had been serviced without having to mention on arrival. Breakfast was good and plentiful, we were quickly seated and not rushed at all. There was plenty of choice and food was regularly refreshed meaning that nothing seemed like... Read more
