Lovely location, tidy lobby and bar, very tired rooms upstairs in desperate need of redecoration. We asked for an iron and ironing board as we were going out for dinner and it took over 30 mins to arrive and we chased it. Bar great but expensive (7.50 for a pint), very central we could walk everywhere which was fantastic.

This Hotel is for those that need a quiet stay, it is a bit out of town, require a cab or bus to get to the city center and bus stations, the closest airport is Birmingham. the location is a walking distance to seinsberey and other shops, and eateries too. This is good for families that are on a honey moon and want to be all alone.

I actually booked the wrong hotel. When we turned up here they couldn't find our booking and it turns out I'd book the express one on the outskirts (website misleading as I typed holiday inn Stratford upon Avon and booked the hotel that came up). Anyway we'd arrived early In Stratford and had a few drinks with lunch so I was unable to drive to the other hotel. I was able to cancel this booking but feel the hotel took advantage of the fact I couldn't drive to the other hotel and charged us an ext... Read more

Stayed overnight following a meeting and sat on the terrace with colleagues for a drink before walking into town. It was lovely and quiet and very comfortable. The walk into town was 10 minutes only. The reception area and bars are decorated well and made an impression. The room was next to the lift which is always something I dread but thankfully I wasn't too disturbed. The room itself was clean but could do with freshening up. Otherwise fab stay in excellent hotel.

Stayed 1night hotel is very nice bar and restaurant very good and food choices excellent rooms are a bit tiered but the main problem is the thickness of the walls the guy above us was extremely loud and when he started to sing to the TV till about 12am which was annoying but didn't let this spoil stay.

Stayed only one night with my husband but this hotel made the weekend perfect! short walk into town, restaurant and bar excellent with lovely outside terrace area, we had evening meal and breakfast the next morning, staff very pleasant and very helpful, rooms are a little tiered but I had no problem with our room, would book this hotel again in the future.

I was expecting a basic holiday inn, ok but nothing special... I couldn't be more wrong...the surroundings were very nice and the outside areas were great. But it was the staff who made it really special. The whole team (especially Adolfo) couldn't do enough for you. we were staying on business but had a lovely evening in late may relaxing outside on the large decking area on a cool night, sitting on comfortable sofas, looking over pleasant gardens, with the patio heaters on and blankets su... It is the staff that can make or break any hotel; it is the staff that can add to or spoil your holiday. In this instance the staff at the Holiday Inn, Stratford upon Avon definitely went out of their way to ensure that our weekend break away was the most comfortable and easy going as it could possibly be. From the reception staff, through to the waiting and bar staff, they went the extra mile. The Housekeeping staff are often overlooked, however I complement them for the cleanliness of our room... The air conditioning in the room was extremely noisy and the room looked a little shabby. The evening meal was quite bland and frankly disappointing. On the plus side breakfast was excellent with attentive staff and the garden/patio area was pleasant to sit in an evening but I didn't feel the hotel was value for money

Fairly modern building with plenty of parking. Adjacent to the river, the terrace provides a lovely view whilst having a drink or meal. All the staff encountered were lightbulb, friendly and efficient. The public areas are bright, spacious and comfortable. There are plenty of well equipped conference rooms of various sizes. The only let down was the accommodation. The second floor is decidedly run down with worn carpets and paintwork in the corridors and bedroom. The duvet cover had a hole and a... Read more

Here for a conference, don't let the box like outside appearance put you off. The indoor areas are lovely, spacious and well furnished. The outdoor patio area to the bar is wonderful, very pleasant place to sit, river view and quiet. We loved this. The hotel is well staffed and organised. I would give five stars but the breakfast was only ok. Location great, five minutes to RSC even at a slow walk, room large and spacious with nice bedding and spotless, outdoor patio section beautiful and one of... Read more

The reception when booking in was efficient but very impersonal and not welcoming. The rooms were clean and adequate for a short business stay. Plenty of power sockets. Decent bathroom. However, in the morning the noise generated by the shower unit in the adjacent room was extremely high and woke me As a group we chose to have the Carvery at dinner. This was a very a limited and lacklustre selection with a choice of pork or turkey - both dry - and overcooked vegetables. It may be bet... Read more

We have stayed here many times and love the central location on the river by Stratford. The lobby restaurant and bar have been refurbished in recent years and look very smart and modern. The upper floors housing the bedrooms could do with an update along with the rooms which are clean but slightly dated. Good location and good value for Stratford and we shall keep on returning

I stayed here for a 3 day conference. The communal areas were light bright and airy and the area outside the bar was delightful - not in the rain. The rooms were somewhat tired and the bathrooms more so. Mine did not have a fixed shower head, only a hand held shower head. It was adequate for what it was. I am not sure I would want to stay here unless I got a very good deal, or just wanted a bed for the night.

What a lovely hotel! Staff were very friendly and attentive especially angello who was working behind the bar on the night of our stay July 1st 2016. We were the last ones sat outside until 2am and at no point did he rush us. I think the rooms have just been renovated as they are beautiful and the breakfast is amazing. Beautiful outside seating area too. I will DEFINITELY be coming back here. Absolute bargain and you do not feel like you are in a holiday inn, it's so luxurious.

Since the major refurbishment this has become the place I stop at when having to stay over in Stratford Upon Avon, always been treated extremely well and rooms have been clean and well presented. Location is great too, as you are a short distance from the great restaurants on Sheep street. Rooms overlooking the river are best and the bar has a great patio area for summer evenings.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Stratford-upon-Avon for a conference. The hotel is well situated for exploring the charming town. The conference facilities are nice. I especially enjoyed the outdoor terrace by the river. My one complaint is that there were very loud exhaust fans just outside my room that came on very early in the morning. I would ask for a room that does not overlook the restaurant.

Stayed for 2 nights last weekend for my wife's birthday. In fairness, it is not the most attractive of hotels from the outside, however this is very deceptive. The inside is wonderful, probably more what I would expect from a new crowne plaza. The staff were all very helpful, the rooms are a great size and well equipped. The water pressure could do with a little attention and the Wifi was a bit of a faff, put neither of these would put me off another stay. We ate in the bar one night, the... Read more

It is situated across the road from the main area where the bands play, the craft & food stalls are, & most importantly, the theatre. On arrival we were welcome very warmly by Rachel on reception. Notwithstanding a fire alarm at midnight that meant evacuation and a whole lot of stress for the staff, here are my experiences: Friendly and polite staff throughout Clean and well presented throughout too Room too hot, no clear air con and opening a window meant noise Tiresome trips up and down the stairs with luggage because the only lift was malfunctioning The hotel strives to be 10/10 and asks for feedback why it is not - improve on the above and it will be better.

Stayed Saturday night. Good location with town, river, marina, shopping & Shakespeare birth place all within walking distance. 2nd floor is currently under refurbishment but this didn't affect us in any way. This hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment. I had one of the newly decorated rooms, but had to walk for nearly 5 minutes to get to it. The room was on the second floor but I had to get out of the lift on the third floor and walk to the end of two very long corridors and down a flight of steps to get to it. Just as well I am able bodied!. That said the room, apart from the new pain/glue smell was very nice. The shower didn't have very good water pressure though. The hotel has a lovely outdo... Read more

The location was perfect; by the river, right across the road from the RSC theatre and a few footsteps away from all the Shakespeare 'attractions'. I don't think I have ever experienced such a comfortable and luxurious bed. To top it off, our room overlooked the river, so we had a stunning view of the midsummer sunset. The Holiday is in a good location for the town and it's attractions and offers free guest car parking. Having stayed here on a number of occasions, if you want a quiet room, you do need to request that. If an evening function is taking place, you may be able to hear it in some of the rooms. On one occasion, the noise was so loud, we moved rooms twice! Food average, nothing special. This hotel has a great location and big car park. The common rooms are very smart although the bedrooms are getting tired. Everything works though and the bed in our room was massive, and it was quiet. It's a Holiday Inn and we've stayed in them a lot and they all seem much the same, which is pretty decent and in general a solid building where you don't hear people walking about above you.
