We stayed one night and found the room perfectly adequate, Good bed, splendid shower and quiet. Not the most characterful place but met our needs. Did not eat in so cannot comment on that. But strangely no shaver point - fortunately I carry an adaptor. No mirror so I shaved into the tele screen!

Starting with the positives. The hotel has a good location, close to the town centre and the river (both just a short walk away) . There is parking at the hotel and is charged as an extra at £3 per day . Parking is on a first come first served basis and there are less spaces than there are bedrooms, so this can be an issue but it is better than many accommodations in town that do their best to avoid the issue! The staff that we had contact with were excellent from reception to housekeeping and ... Read more

Room very nice, staff pleasant, breakfast very good. Very handy for RSC,shops and restaurants. I have had to downgrade however as heat in the bedroom was unbearable despite it not being a particularly warm night. Radiator off, window open and fan on but seemed to be some sort of underfloor heating. Have stayed in an executive room before which was fine. Sadly the heat spoilt an otherwise lovely stay. Hope this can be sorted for future guests.

The hotel has good location for an RSC stop over as it is a short walk from the town centre shopping and theatres. A generally comfortable hotel room but I have to echo other reviews about the high room temperature and lack of air conditioning. I didn't eat here as there are so many alternatives close at hand.

I stayed for one night as a single traveller at the start of a bank holiday weekend. The hotel was busy, but comfortable so. From the very beginning the staff were fantastically friendly, it was a genuinely warm welcome. My room was spotlessly clean, comfy and quiet. The public areas, bar and breakfast room, where all very nicely decorated and it was nice to sit and enjoy the space. The hotel is a lovely short walk from the town centre, and a mere minutes along the tow path brings you to the can... Read more

This is a central hotel which looks sweet from the outside. But don't be fooled - inside needs a complete renovation/ upgrade. My room was small, shabby, tired and very old-fashioned. Stained carpet, ripped headboard, broken tiles in the bathroom. The bed gave no support whatsoever so I'm guessing that was just as old as everything else. Breakfast the following morning was average at best. I've given 2 stars because the staff were very warm & friendly throughout. But the property itself is... Read more

Wish I had paid attention to the reviewers who said the rooms were too hot. Surely the positive reviewers of this property must have had a first floor room or have stayed in winter. Despite the pleasant outside temperature- around 62 degrees F/ 17 Celsius, our room was stifling! As you climbed the stairs, you could feel the temperature rise by 15 degrees. The windows only opened 4 inches and there was zero cross-ventilation. They supplied us with one tiny fan that helped very little. It brought ... Read more

Stayed here 13th May 2016, we booked through Travel Zoo £69 for Bed Breakfast and £25 towards an evening meal. We had a room upgrade which was great (thanks Rita). We have stayed here in the past and had a good stay other than the once when we were allocated a standard room. This time was great, the breakfast was good other than there were no beans. We would stay here again when the deals are on.

Fantastic location, just minutes easy walk to the town centre. Plenty of car parking rear of hotel. A spacious, very comfortable and clean hotel. Our room was spotless! Plenty of staff and all are smartly uniformed, very helpful, pleasant and efficient. Very pleasant and spacious restaurant. A fantastic choice, well presented and cooked breakfast - superb! Definetly staying again on our thoroughly enjoyable visit to Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Good modern hotel, with good cooked breakfast and service. Rooms appeared recently renovated and comfortable but no iron provided. Great convenient location with local pubs and all tourist attractions nearby, parking available.

We wanted a cheap hotel in Stratford for one night and that's what we got. Room was in need of an update and bath had rusty mobility aids. The towel rail was hot but so hot it could burn. Breakfast was ok and by booking it in advance cost £8.50 each but was definitely not worth it. We had a much better one in Oxford the day before for half that price. We parked there with no issues which was good.

The hotel is clean and nice. The issue I had with the hotel is very simple: it did not have air conditioning. Because of this, I gave the hotel a three star. With ac, I would give it a four star. It is clean and in the a very good location. Any time in the fall, winter, or spring, the hotel is great. But with no ac or much of a fan, it is too hot to sleep.

First of all can I say that all the staff we met during our trip were really friendly and helpful and the location is brilliant as it is so close to the town centre. The room we stayed in was a twin room located on the first floor and can, in my opinion, only be described as tired and in desperate need of a makeover. The beds were too soft and both my sister and I woke up with painful backs as they did not give enough support and the headboards looked greasy (too many heads had leaned on the... Read more

We stayed here in order to visit some of the many National Trust properties in the area. It is very centrally located for theatres, shops and restaurants. Restaurants vary in quality/price but very good Thai restaurant across the road.

We stayed here for 1 night in preparation for a trackday at nearby Long Marston Raceway. We had a family room which was clean and spacious. The bathroom was also roomy, clean and well presented. The wifi was great too which in my experience is always a bit hit or miss in hotels. There were a few niggling cons but nothing which spoilt our overall stay. The room was very stuffy which has been mentioned by other reviewers but there was a fan in the room so the hotel had done all that it could on t... Read more

Room was ok but felt tired and I need of some TLC. Window blind was broken and some of the bathroom furniture was rusty and the floor wasn't as clean as it could have been. We didn't complain as we weren't there for long and the beds were so comfy, we did forget about the other bits! Stairs are narrow and there is no lift so anyone with mobility problems should take note. Excellent location for town centre and on the whole an ok hotel , maybe not quite what I'd expected from a Great Western

This hotel is good and comfortable and agreeably close to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre which was the reason for our visit. The only drawback for us was the lack of a lift - the stairs are very steep!. Very pleasant room.

We chose this Hotel as we were staying with budget conscious friends. The hotel is good value for the area and in a great location. Downside is the rooms are a little tired, and in the warm weather, became very hot. Fans were provided, but still not ideal. Arrive close to check out time to ensure a parking place on site, but don??t worry too much, as you can easily park at the Leisure centre round the corner (50 metres max). We had a wedding here, what a shambles. This place is a disaster, the rooms are OK but there heating system can not be turned off which make it so hot it's impossible to sleep, we booked 2 nights and left after first night exhausted. The function room downstairs has no disabled access or lift so stay at home if you are not perfectly healthy. Having taken advantage of booking several alternative afternoon tea offers through Travelzoo vouchers we were expecting a pleasant culinary experience on a sunny afternoon in Stratford upon Avon. Upon entering the hotel from the carpark we were pleased to see that the dining room featured a sun filled conservatory and we were expecting to be shown into there. Instead we were directed towards a railway carriage size room with two regimented rows of tables already half filled with diners packed ... Read more

Initially very impressive and nicely decorated hotel. Unfortunately on entering the bedroom we experienced what other reviews had also reported. A fan was on and the open window (which would only open approx 6 inches) was providing a nice cool reception for us. However the towel rail and underfloor heating in the bathroom automatically comes on with the light and extractor fan! We reported it but it was not able to be switched off. As the day got hotter so did the room making it 2 uncomfort... Read more

My husband should have read reviews here before booking but he was persuaded by its proximity to the theatre and the fact there is some parking (£3 a day). Oh dear. Small room, very small bathroom with bizarre heated towel rail coming on whenever the bathroom light was switched on. Heated towel rail on the hottest day of the year?! Great. Large fan provided, impossible to sleep at all without it, but hard to sleep well with its noise. Breakfast was poor. The bacon is indeed hard, as presumably... Read more

The hotel is well situated for all the local amenities, but on a busy main road and care must be taken when crossing it on foot. The hotel itself is clean and quite well decorated. We sampled the bar food which was well priced and quite nice. The breakfast was good and the staff polite and efficient. One thing I found strange was the fact that residents had to pay £3 per day to park on the hotel car park.
