Staff were fantastic. I stayed here from January to end of April on business. This quickly became my home from home and the staff were brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble! The hotel had started the room upgrades while I was staying and this will add a great touch to the place. I know where I will be staying when I visit Alton towers!

Arrived for two night stay for Alton Towers, ideal location as its only 20 mins drive. The check was welcoming and staff were very informative. When we got to the room we found that the bedsheets were ripped but after driving nearly 5 hours we just wanted to sleep. After the first day of stay and coming back from Alton towers, I was disappointed to find that only the bed was made still with the ripped bedsheets, no bin was cleaned or rubbish taken away and clothes to be dumped right back onto th... We chose this hotel due it's close proximity of Alton Towers. It was a great hotel, perfect for our needs. The staff were extremely helpful, especially the young man at the desk. He recommended various family friendly places we could eat and stay out of the rain. The room was very comfortable, exactly as you would expect from holiday inn. Breakfast was amazing! Very simple, but generously laid out spread. It really makes it worth the stay to wake up to a nice meal. Set the mood for our fun day a... Read more

Stayed one night in what I think was one of the refurbished rooms. Can't comment on the old rooms but this was very comfortable and clean. Only downside was the lack of power sockets near bed to charge things. And if it has been refurbished the addition of usb sockets would have been good. Staff very friendly and attentive. Breakfast a reasonable selection. The small selection of drinks in the bar was a little disappointing.

We stayed overnight in family rooms, the rooms were large and very comfortable. It was a modern and extremely clean hotel. We arrived quite late in the evening, even so the staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us. Breakfast was served from 6:30am which was appreciated as we had an early start, this was most adequate and enjoyable. The cost was reasonable only £53 for a family room with all the expected facilities.

My mum & I stayed here as we were visiting the Emma Bridgewater Factory. The room was very clean, beds comfy & hardly any noise even though we visited during half term week. All the staff we spoke to were really helpful & polite. We didn't realise, but breakfast was also included in the price. There's a Harvester next door, which was really handy, as the hotel isn't really near any other restaurants/bars/shops. Would I stay here again? Yes, without a doubt!

Rooms were clean, quiet and the air conditioning actually works, which is more than I can say for many IHG hotels I have stayed at. Well done to them, for after the shine has impressed one, the please falls apart. Having booked two rooms with disabled facilities I would have expected the said facilities to be suitable for use by disabled persons; but no. The toilet was far too low to be usable, so low as to be impossible to sit on, so the only option was to wait until we reached our des... Read more

Friendly hotel and found lots of children at breakfast time but maybe it was half term. Was quite annoyed that tripadvisor itsef doesnt warn you that if you book a hotel through tripadvisor you may well not get loyalty points which you d get otherwise. I think tripadvisor has an obligation to tell us this!! Despite this being the rule tge hotel did in the end agree to give me 1000 points but i wont be booking through tripadvisor again but direct. I would stay here again but as my work is nearer ... Read more

Stayed once again at the express trentham lakes after walking out of the local travel lodge. Check in was excellent room was good except we were allocated a twin & really wanted a double but hey it was literally last minute so beggars can't be choosers eh.We did not make breakfast as we have our own Stoke oatcake & shop Hungry Potter" which we open a 6.00am. If you have not tried the local delicacy yet pop in & say hello"

Recently visited on an overnight business trip. Impression of the hotel was quiet good from the outside. On the inside it was not warm or friendly and neither was the staff. No real bar or food being served. Very poor

Convenient, to Alton towers with a harvester next door. Hotel rooms are a squeeze with double sofa bed down but for what we needed it for it was ok. Beds weren't the comfiest especially the sofa bed but rooms are presented nicely. Breakfast wasn't the best but filled a hole

I have stayed here before on business with customer visits locally and pleasure with the family for Alton towers as it is well located and ticks all the boxes. Somewhere to work in the room comfortably plus free wifi - hot buffet breakfast is also included in the price again the usual high standard expected at holiday inn and good customer service.

Stayed just one night. Staff very efficient and friendly. Room well thought out and has everything you need. Breakfast was included and ok. Coffee from the machine wasn't great. Better to make coffee in the room. For the price, a great place to stay. Room quiet too. Couldn't hear the main road nearby. Carpark felt a safe place to leave our car overnight.

Haven't used HI Express for years. Was good value at £45. Breakfast was good with even 3 hot items. Room slightly on the small size and air con/heating a bit erratic/noisy.Turn it off at night.Rooms have showers but no bath. Has a bar but no restaurant however there is a Harvester next door and they are usually fine. Nothing else nearby. Nearest supermarket and fast food about a mile away. Would definitely consider HI Express again based on this one.

Stayed overnight en-route from Devon to Scotland. It proved to be an excellent choice. Very warmly welcomed and very helpful reception staff. A clean, comfortable and relaxing room. Much enjoyed the breakfast .... a wider choice than we expected. Plenty of car-parking space .... and free! Would very happily stay here again. Fair price.

We are members of the Potters Club in Stoke and this hotel makes it viable to go to the Potters as we live outside the area. It was in the right place, incredible value at £46.80. Breakfast was not great but hey it free. The room was adequate and clean. This hotel is much nicer than the holiday inn at Junction 15 on the M6 It is half the price, newer and cleaner.

Booked to stay here for two nights (unfortunately) but either the rooms here are tiny or we got the short straw when we arrived as although the bedroom size was adequate the rooms ancient looking electric heater was positioned directly above one of the twin beds and was inadequate and noisy so even when switched on the room was cold and obviously too noisy to keep it on at night if you actually wanted to sleep! The breakfast was also very disappointing (especially compared to the usual high sta... Read more

Certainly no frills but very clean, high quality of service and a nice basic breakfast. The rooms are modern and clean. Can't fault a thing.... A reliable choice. The harvest restaurant nearby is a grand choice for dinner.

Having stayed at many "Holiday inn's" both in the UK and Overseas, I have to say that this is the worst!!! Never have I stayed in a Hotel where so little consideration is given by fellow guests. We stayed on Friday 2nd December 2016, our room faced onto the front car park /drop off area. That was the first problem. From 1am on Saturday morning until 6am the taxis did not stop with load drunken guests. Doors slamming and people running up and down the corridors, clearly this hotel has found its... Read more

We stayed 2 nights as our team were playing Stoke, it was really nice to return to our room after the game rather than wait in bus or car queues. The hotel is very close to the stadium and has free parking. The surrounding area is light industry with only a Harvester Inn nearby. We walked into Stoke both evenings, took about 30 mins as we walk quite fast. It is a nice walk by the side of the canal but it is not lit at night. There are bus stops nearby and it would have been very easy to use a t... Read more
