I was here with my colleague Chris on a 3 day visit, this was our 2nd visit and we both agreed that the service and food were both exemplary!!! A special mention has to go to Mercedes, Jo and Ana (in the restaurant) who had a nothing is too much trouble attitude..the service was fantastic and the food even better...and even the request for WD40 was met (no more creaking door) 100% recommend this hotel to both business and leisure!!

Used this hotel for a a pair of evening business meeting. While the initial set-up was fine, the scheduled tea / coffee breaks didn't occur on time - the refreshments arrived almost 30 minutes late (without an apology). A request for clean glasses took as long to fulfill. Consequently, one of the meetings started late, lacked refreshments, and was interrupted as clean glasses arrived. Puzzlingly, the in room telephone wasn't actually connected - there was no cable linking the phone with the so... Read more

Rooms were fantastic. Had a large twin room. It was extremely clean, modern and we loved the lay out. Perfect cheap room for a night out without having to worry about getting expensive taxis. Car park was £3.70 and you park opposite the hotel. Will definitely recommend and will certainly use again.

I have the unenviable chore of doing a bit of work in Welwyn Garden City a couple of days a week and stay up here 2 nights a week. I usually stay in the Holiday Inn, Stevenage. It's a great little hotel, nicely refurbished executive rooms and really helpful and friendly staff. Can't fault the place for the money.

We stayed here for my birthday celebration and we really enjoyed the hotel as we had bright and clean rooms and an adequate hot breakfast. Everything was fine and the service from Ewa at the booking stage was excellent as I was making a group reservation. The only downside happened after we returned to find a bill from the independant car parking company for £100 as they did not know we were residents. This has marred the experience greatly and the parking company and the hotel are separate ent... Read more

This hotel does what you expect from a holiday Inn. Basic but clean accommodation. Quick check in & out. Fairly central location. The staff were friendly & speed of service in the bar was good. Food selection was good & reasonably priced. Meeting rooms/facilities were reasonable. The one thing that really lets this hotel down is parking. As I was not in an executive room, you have to park in the multi-storey on the other side of the dual carriage way. This means parking up & then lugging your s... Read more

Rooms quite comfortable, unfortunately there was not much variety in relation to the evening meal.(Buffet).There is no porterage at this hotel, and very tight manoeuvre is required when reversing in to the parking area (coach) Wifi is available at this hotel also there are lifts to access the upper floors.its ok for an overnight stay but I think that is enough. There is a bar area located towards the front of the hotel.

Stayed here recently whilst at an event in St Albans. The room was fantastic, spacious, comfortable and the staff were very helpful. Be aware that depending on the kinds of event being hosted at the function rooms this hotel can get noisy. We had a school leaver's prom being hosted one night and the groups coming back at 4am were on the noisy side (not really the hotel's fault admittedly). Also be aware that there is no free parking at the hotel, however there is a substantial discount if you us... Read more

Would certainly choose this over the express 5 minutes away if only for the fact that this hotel has a restaurant. Pleasant staff with comfortable and well equipped rooms. I ate in the bar and the food was excellent (kashmiri curry). However just short of £25 for a curry some chips and a pint is very pricy. Breakfast is excellent. Great choice for hot and cold, made to order dishes offered and great bread.

First time staying here. I usually stay in the HI Express in Stevenage, but this was actually cheaper on the Friday night. Worth noting that although these hotels are from the same brand, they are different franchisees, so you can get these strange price differentials. Checking in was a bit slow, but no real issue. The hotel itself is open and pleasantly designed. Rooms were the usual good HI standard. I ate in the bar, food and service excellent. Only downside is the hotel is not in the tow... Read more

Hotel was very clean and looks like it has just been re-furbished, room was ready we had a family room on floor 5. Room was very hot and air con did not seem to work very well opened the window but then you get the noise from the main road which runs by the side of the hotel. No views to speak of just concrete Stevenage. Hotel bar very expensive £14 for a pint glass of wine and a kids drink, why do they need to charge these over the top prices. We ate at hotel as well very good meal still a bit... Read more

Booked two rooms, one for my daughter and partner and one for my husband and my self. We had an exec room because of the space on the car park and a standard double for daughter. They put us both on the 5th floor which was quiet. Had a meal in the restaurant on the Friday evening with about 12 family members and the food and service was excellent. Reception staff were very helpful as we hadn't been to the area before. Couldn't find any fault. If you have time go to the Museum which is right ... Read more

Visited this hotel for a pre Christmas White Rabbit themed evening with dinner in a private function room. The staff dressed up as characters from Alice in Wonderland and were very friendly. A lot of work had been put into decorating the dining tables. The food was excellent - three courses served quickly and food very tasty and hot. The hotel has a restaurant which is open to non-residents.

Good modern hotel, with good size rooms and reception area. Lots of space to sit and work in the lounge and nice size bar area, good all round hotel. Only downside is the car parking is limited on site. There is parking across the road so it's not to bad.

We had a spacious twin bedded room on the fourth floor which was very clean & quiet with large comfortable beds. All the staff were friendly & polite & we enjoyed a good bar meal which was very reasonably priced, but breakfast was not particularly good. It is self service, but the cooked options were of very poor quality & not hot. The ' continental ' selection was better. Awful coffee.

Good for an overnight night stay while helping a friend move house. The hotel is centerally located, quiet even next to a busy road. The standard room was big with all amenities overall clean except for scuff marks on some walls. The only downside is parking on the other side of the busy road reached by a underpass charges apply. We wanted to eat in the restaurant but it was full with coach parties so we ate in the bar but were able to choose from the main menu

Checking into the hotel was satisfactory but I am extremely disappointed as the attitude of the staff is to be desired, not friendly at all. I asked for a quiet room to which its next to the road and the noise is unbelievable, when I spoke to the reception the room is meant to be a quiet room so I would like to know what the other rooms are like if mine is quiet!! Stayed here for a two day company work event at the hotel. The "package" included dinner, room and breakfast. Whilst the food was adequate, the room I have to say was pretty dire and the bathroom was dirty. Half of the staff I interacted with appeared dis-interested. Not good Holiday Inn, not what I have experienced with other HI hotels.

Stayed here for one night last weekend. The room was a good size, clean and comfortable. The staff were all friendly and attentive. The bar stays open as long as guests want to drink and there is an agreement with an NCP car park (opposite) which costs £3.70 per exit. Would stay here again if in Stevenage.

It was a very typical hotel, but the staff were lovely and very helpful. We had to book in very late at night after a wedding and even then the staff were helpful and efficient. We also had breakfast the next day and there was lots of food and it was good quality. Recently stayed for a week at the Holiday Inn in Stevenage. The hotel was clean, comfortable and efficient. The room was the standard budget hotel type. I had no issues during the stay. I will add that the hotel serves a large coach tourist business on the weekend. The restaurant was very busy with the bus loads at breakfast and dinner. The service at the Holiday Inn was excellent and I will stay there again during my next business trip.

We booked this hotel for one night. We booked an executive room and was able to park in the car park as a result. Beware that if you don't have an executive room you have to park in the lay and display across the road and then cross an extremely busy road to get to the hotel. Stayed for a week, staff are very friendly, good choice at breakfast. However, we had to upgrade to an executive room in order to use the carpark! It should be made clear when you are booking that thats the case. The room was fine, it was clean, spacious and had air con but bar the size i dont think it is any different to a standard room. Location isn't great to get into old or new town without a car. Also thought it was a bit expensive for what it is

A fairly bland building on the outside but the normal high standard expected from an Holiday Inn inside. Rooms are good clean and well appointed and the air conditioning worked well on a very hot September day. The only small critism was that the food in the restaurant was slightly disappointing but adequate. I would certainly use it again for business but or a base for leisure.

Food was provided as part of our stay. The food was nice and lovely desserts, the swordfish served on the Saturday lunchtime was delicious and beautifully cooked. The waiting on staff worked really hard. Great access to the local shopping area. A nice stay but I wouldn't expect anything less from a Holiday Inn.
