Having read some reviews prior to my stay, I was looking forward to staying in a satisfactory two star hotel. The hotel itself was very easy to find and was conveniently located next to the Conference Centre, which was what brought me to Stevenage in the first place. Check in was speedy and the staff were polite, despite being only two and having to check in more than 60 rooms at the time. The room was spacious and clean. However if I am being really picky, the shower was a bit dirty and there ... Read more

Clean and comfy room, felt very safe here and had a good night's sleep. Friendly staff. Really convenient for the town centre and the railway station (and the bus station, but I didn't use it). The food in the restaurant was very nice,

We stayed here for one night as I had a course the day after, it's clean, comfortable and had a huge bed! It's right in the centre surrounded by shops and the local cinema and restaurants were a 5min drive away. All in all a lovely stay the only thing that stopped me from giving it a 5/5 was that it could do with a bit of updating.

Good quality hotel for a short business trip. The price was relatively low for this area and included good quality breakfast (buffet included English and continental style food). The room was large with double bed for single occupation. The bathroom was clean but the air conditioning was slightly noisy.

I've stayed at budget hotels before and know what to expect, but not this. Prior to arriving at the hotel I had been told via email and in the phone that payment had been taken. Upon arrival I was told payment had not been taken and they didn't know where is was so I had to pre-authorise payment again on my card. Whilst being checked in the man on the front desk was most insistent that we did not have more than 2 people per room (we arrived with two other couples, who were friends our ms, for a ... Read more

My partner and I visited Ibis Stevenage last weekend with two other couples, as we were in the area for a friend's wedding. Having booked early, we were really impressed by the price (£43 for one night) and the location. As the wedding we were going to began at 12, we'd called ahead to ask if we could have an early check in, which we were told would be fine at a surcharge of £10 per room. Unfortunately upon arrival, early cracks began to show. We arrived at around 10.15 with a view to leavin... Read more

Stayed for one night on business. The hotel is in the town centre, and does not have its own parking, however free parking is available at the nearby Tesco. There was a wedding going on on the night of my stay, so I was placed in a fifth floor room so that I would not be disturbed. The room itself was modern and clean, my only criticisms are that my double bed consisted of two single beds pushed together, the join could be felt and was uncomfortable, and the carpet in the lift could have done wi... Stayed here for two nights. Hotel is located right on the high street next to the local Tesco Extra. Rooms are comfortable as is the bed. Restaurant is quite cramped and a bit of a jumble. Whilst eating dinner noticed the chef entering the toilet and then going for a cigarette with his apron and whites still on. Slightly off putting! Not sure would stay again although ok if on a budget.

In the centre of Stevenage next to a 24 hour Tesco. Easy to find - google maps took us straight to it. Rooms are a good size and beds are comfortable. The room and bed linen were really clean and there was a huge walk in shower with plenty of hot water. A good budget hotel, and although in the town centre the rooms were quiet. Staff were friendly and helpful. They offer breakfast but we didn't try it as we left for an early flight - they do continental breakfast from 4am and cooked from 6am.

I've stayed at this ibis 3 times now. Have given them a chance but will not book ever again. The staff aren't that really helpful, your much better suited to use the holiday Inn express which is 5 minute walk and is clean.

This proved a great weekend. Although the parking was a frustration thus was more than offset by the price and the access to the retail centres and food outlets. The location also proves an ideal base for attractions within the region. It was easily accessible from London

Recently stayed in this hotel for the night- the hotel rooms/hotel itself in my opinion were extremely basic BUT excellent service from the staff. Especially a trainee called Luke who was working a night shift. Honestly one of the nicest people- Thankyou vey much for making our stay the best it could be!

Stayed for a family wedding, you pay for what you get, basic. Breakfast was expensive for what it is, undercooked and lack of breakfast. Paid for room before stay, was told room had not been paid for and had to pay again even though money had been taken. So overall 2/5 stars!

Stayed for two nights. The room I had was very clean with an enormous bed. Everything worked and it was quiet despite being in the busy shopping centre area. The hotel is very convenient for shopping, theatre and only a short walk to the leisure park where there are many restaurants, bowling alley etc., The staff I met were polite and helpful. I did not try the breakfast. I will stay there again.

we stayed for one night after spending the day in London, we found the reception staff very helpful and efficient, we were checked in very swiftly and given directions to our room on the third floor. The room was on the small side but had everything we needed, a comfy bed, decent furnishings and a small but adequate bathroom. Breakfast, which was included in the price was very good. The usual fare of sausages, bacon, hash browns, mushrooms, tomatoes beans and scrambled eggs. Also available were ... Read more

Very well located for the railway station which I used most days for a week's stay and the staff are very friendly. The hotel is maybe showing its age a little bit for example the corridor furnishings and I was a bit disappointed in the cleanliness of the lift carpet which is probably the first thing visitors see and might give the wrong first impression. Loses one star for that and for the shaver socket in room 420 isn't working. Overall would recommend.

Arrived in Stevenage and ladies at reception was really lovely and welcoming. Super helpful as well as I couldn't understand the system for parking very well and they really helped me out with it. Rooms were decent and definitely comfortable beds. Great sunlight and nice clean bathrooms (albeit small). The hotel looks great when you first step in. The reception is lovely and very modern. Staff are great and really helpful. However, as soon as you get out of the lift, (I was on the second floor) You can see that the reception area is the only place that looks modern. The corridors smell old and musky and the carpets don't look clean. My room didn't smell much better. This hotel could be lovely if it was given a lick of paint and some new decor. There were cracks in the walls, in my room -... Read more

We stayed here on a football training program with 4 adults and 22 kids. They were aged between 7 to 15 years old. Unlike the hotel we had moved from in Machester the staff were so friendly...accommodating to the kids needs. The dinners were tailor made to the individual kids needs. The rooms were spacious and very clean. It was a complete negation of the hotel we had stayed at.
