Lovely hotel furnished in a contemporary style. Friendly staff. We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday evening and although fairly expensive the meal was super! Compliments to the chef! If I may add some constructive criticism our Room, number 6 (with a lovely sea view) had a number of stains on the carpet including one from a dropped teabag , extractor fan in bathroom not working & bedside reading light not working. At £210 a night it's the attention to detail that is important for a hotel t... Read more

Booked a two night offer in a standard room which was top notch. Lovely big and airy equipped with everything you needed (apart from only having 4 hangers between us) not sure how you'd manage if staying longer. It was so quiet too. Everywhere was very contemporary which we loved. Had dinner on the first night which as others have said quite adventurous in places. I would say if you're a vegetarian as I am maybe inform the hotel beforehand to give them the opportunity to offer some alternatives.... Read more

We were really excited about staying here. The building and facilities are excellent, although somewhat incongruous with the surroundings - all a little glitzy and cold for a seaside boutique hotel. It did feel as if you could be in a generic 4 star in any European capital, unless you stepped outside to the picturesque harbour village of Gorran Haven. Service was disappointing, with nobody at reception on arrival and no bell to ring, we stood around and then asked bar staff for assistance. Ther... Read more

We had 2 nights here on a discount deal. A little awkward to find but it was worth it. Had a great welcome on arrival so good first impressions. Room was very nice, all the usual trimmings,God bed, lovely bathroom/shower etc. The real star was the view overlooking the sea. The place is so quiet as well,it suited us perfectly. We had a meal in the fine dining restaurant as part of our deal and it was very good value at the price we paid. The food was lovely but after having a bar meal on our second... Read more

We had stayed at the Llawnroc Hotel on several occasions in the last few years and always departed well satisfied. So we decided to return for a short 3 day break to enjoy some fine weather in late May. Our stylish sea view (partial) bedroom was just as we remembered ?? comfortable and well appointed. The bar and main restaurant arrangements were as before, but the bistro had changed. The tables were only set on request, possibly to encourage use of the bar. The bar / bistro and main restaur... Stayed at The Llawnroc for 3 nights in April 16. First impressions were very good, light airy reception with beautiful decor and fittings and a warm welcome from the lady on reception. Our room wasn't quite ready so we headed to the bar area, again all tastefully decorated and spacious, lots of nice seating areas both inside and out. The bedroom was good but lacked some final touches that could have made it excellent, little things like taking the time to have the towels/robes embroidered with... Read more

We booked this hotel as my husband was coming to Cornwall on business so we decided to tie in a couple of nights away. When we arrived we were warmly greeted at reception and shown straight to our room. We had a lovely sea view (room 6) and it had everything you needed...including a playstation - games & DVDs were available from reception. We ate in the Gorrans restaurant on the first night and found the food very good, simple flavours and good quality local produce. Breakfast the next day w... Read more

We stayed for a short mid-week break and were not disappointed. We saw both good and bad weather but this didn't make a difference to us! The welcome was very warm and we were showed to our rooms, we stayed in a suite (room number 11), it had a nice view of the sea! Please be aware it is not a sea front hotel but the sea is literally a 2 minute walk down a hill into the village. The bar and restaurant were great and the food and drinks very nice. The prices are good for what you get and I had a ... Read more

lovely hotel, courteous, helpful staff, The only fault to be found was the limited menu for both bar meals and the restaurant and the high price for the restaurant meals, the food itself however was delicious and drink prices were very reasonable.

Accommodation is fine, staff are friendly ,but dining is seriously disappointing. No wonder the dinning room was nearly empty on a Saturday night in peak season. Bar menu is ok but notions of "fine dining menu" are delusional and extremely poor value. Even with only 4 tables occupied there were not enough staff to service the reception, bar and restaurant. A definite sense of ripping off the tourists and we were ,thankfully, only here for one night. Trying to be something it is not.

Room was comfortable, roomy, clean with a fabulous view. Staff were all helpful and most pleasant (including the housekeeping staff). In particular Sally on reception who was very kind and supportive. Breakfast was excellent - little disappointed on the one occasion we had a bar meal. Would definitely return.

It may be a little off the beaten track, but well worth a visit. Efficient staff, polite and friendly. Lovely clean rooms, everything you could want. Lovely soft towels and good beds with good quality sheets. Slept like being at home. Such a pretty part of Cornwall. Good food and one of the best breakfasts I have had in a very long time. Happy to recommend staying at The Llawnroc Hotel. Sally in reception a member of staff to be valued.

Arrived for a two night stay to a warm welcome from Sally at reception who showed us to our room. Room was clean and comfortable but not 'wow' like we had expected. Had booked a sea view but this was very restricted. Room was very warm despite air conditioning but Sally tried her best to put this right by giving us a fan Food was extremely disappointing. The menus for both the bar/bistro and fine dining were limited and disappointing. As a result we ate in the bar both nights and the food was ... Read more

how can I fault this place? I cannot, it's modern, clean, food was great, very modern very clean, very well done - everything perfect... if you want a "base" to travel out from, and then drive back to and have dinner then sleep this is perfect, if you are rich and often stay at expensive hotels this is probably a good bet... however it's a hotel in a small village with nothing... (ok a beach, small post office and beach snack place) ... we walked to mevagissey the second night to eat and drink, ... Read more

Had an amazing 4 days at The Llawnroc. Cannot fault this hotel. Staff are all friendly and go out of their way to help you, always a smile to greet you. Food was fabulous, bedroom very clean and spacious. Will definately be back. We also went to see a show in the Assylum at Heligan with Kneehigh Theatre Company definately worth a visit atmosphere was fantastic and the show one of the best I've seen this year, amazing talent. Looking forward to see another show soon.

lovely luxury comfortable hotel in quiet location with luxury bathrooms and quality towels and robes .shame that they cannot serve decent food as it spoilt our holiday and there is no excuse for this and no way fine dinning food.

Wanting an adult meal away from burgers and chips we booked at the only hotel in delightful Gorran Haven, reserving a table in the "fine dining" restaurant, as opposed to the bar. In late July, in a room catering for some forty or fifty there were only six other diners. Staff were attentive and friendly. There was not a huge choice but what we had was tasty and unusual. Bread was brought to us as we chose our meals. One first course was scallops with apple, the second crab cakes with pork tende... Read more

This is a lovely hotel, from entering the hotel until we left the staff were very friendly, helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble. Sally on reception was lovely with a bright and bubbly personality. The hotel rooms are very spacious, well equipped with everything to make your stay a comfortable one and very clean. The breakfasts were plentiful, with a choice of fruit juice's, cereals, Danish pastries, fruit and yogurt, then a selection of cooked breakfast with toast and jams all serve... Read more
