Lovely hotel furnished in a contemporary style. Friendly staff. We ate in the restaurant on the Saturday evening and although fairly expensive the meal was super! Compliments to the chef! If I may add some constructive criticism our Room, number 6 (with a lovely sea view) had a number of stains on the carpet including one from a dropped teabag , extractor fan in bathroom not working & bedside reading light not working. At £210 a night it's the attention to detail that is important for a hotel t... Read more

Booked a two night offer in a standard room which was top notch. Lovely big and airy equipped with everything you needed (apart from only having 4 hangers between us) not sure how you'd manage if staying longer. It was so quiet too. Everywhere was very contemporary which we loved. Had dinner on the first night which as others have said quite adventurous in places. I would say if you're a vegetarian as I am maybe inform the hotel beforehand to give them the opportunity to offer some alternatives.... Read more

We were really excited about staying here. The building and facilities are excellent, although somewhat incongruous with the surroundings - all a little glitzy and cold for a seaside boutique hotel. It did feel as if you could be in a generic 4 star in any European capital, unless you stepped outside to the picturesque harbour village of Gorran Haven. Service was disappointing, with nobody at reception on arrival and no bell to ring, we stood around and then asked bar staff for assistance. Ther... Read more

We had 2 nights here on a discount deal. A little awkward to find but it was worth it. Had a great welcome on arrival so good first impressions. Room was very nice, all the usual trimmings,God bed, lovely bathroom/shower etc. The real star was the view overlooking the sea. The place is so quiet as well,it suited us perfectly. We had a meal in the fine dining restaurant as part of our deal and it was very good value at the price we paid. The food was lovely but after having a bar meal on our second... Read more

We had stayed at the Llawnroc Hotel on several occasions in the last few years and always departed well satisfied. So we decided to return for a short 3 day break to enjoy some fine weather in late May. Our stylish sea view (partial) bedroom was just as we remembered ?? comfortable and well appointed. The bar and main restaurant arrangements were as before, but the bistro had changed. The tables were only set on request, possibly to encourage use of the bar. The bar / bistro and main restaur... Stayed at The Llawnroc for 3 nights in April 16. First impressions were very good, light airy reception with beautiful decor and fittings and a warm welcome from the lady on reception. Our room wasn't quite ready so we headed to the bar area, again all tastefully decorated and spacious, lots of nice seating areas both inside and out. The bedroom was good but lacked some final touches that could have made it excellent, little things like taking the time to have the towels/robes embroidered with... Read more

We stayed for a short mid-week break and were not disappointed. We saw both good and bad weather but this didn't make a difference to us! The welcome was very warm and we were showed to our rooms, we stayed in a suite (room number 11), it had a nice view of the sea! Please be aware it is not a sea front hotel but the sea is literally a 2 minute walk down a hill into the village. The bar and restaurant were great and the food and drinks very nice. Accommodation is fine, staff are friendly ,but dining is seriously disappointing. No wonder the dinning room was nearly empty on a Saturday night in peak season. Bar menu is ok but notions of "fine dining menu" are delusional and extremely poor value. Even with only 4 tables occupied there were not enough staff to service the reception, bar and restaurant. A definite sense of ripping off the tourists and we were ,thankfully, only here for one night. Trying to be something it is not.

Wanting an adult meal away from burgers and chips we booked at the only hotel in delightful Gorran Haven, reserving a table in the "fine dining" restaurant, as opposed to the bar. Sally, on reception, was particularly helpful. The hotel is very well appointed, modernised and has a contemporary feel.
