I stayed here for my birthday and loved every minute of it. Such a great hotel, in a lovely location and the staff are wonderful. The hotel is set just outside of the town centre but it is literally a couple of minutes car journey to the centre. The hotel is in a really peaceful location and has beautiful gardens. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and show to our room. I noticed our room only had a shower and would have preferred a bath too, when asked we were given a room with a bath straight ... Read more

I frequent this lovely small country house hotel several times a year to indulge and relax. It is very near to St Andrews, and handy for walking the Fife coastal path. The real reasons to visit are the roaring log fires, the warm welcome, the unfussy but precise service and the food. Dinner was perfect form the Kir Royale in the lounge and the way through to the chocolate fondant dessert. This family run hotel succeeds where few others do in pulling off a professional efficient but relaxed servi... Read more

Ive travelled the world and been to some nice hotels, the Rufflets is probably one of the best hotels ive stayed in. When we arrived the room wasn't quite ready but had arrived at 1140 am, we had a drink in the beautiful bar reception area. Within 15 -20 mins the room was ready and we were taken upstairs to the room. The room was very spacious however my wife noticed there wasn't a bath in the room and so as it was her birthday I rang reception to ask if they had another room. They said they ... Read more

The hotel is really comfortable and the people are very attentive. We stayed in one of the turret suites on a cold January weekend and it was luxurious and romantic. They even snuck a warm bottle under the blanket while we were downstairs for dinner. We had a great stay and can definitely recommend it.

Small and intimate hotel where the staff go out of their way to help... the food is excellent with a good variety of choices for the dinner menu. Breakfast also excellent. Rooms are very comfortable and much more interesting than most average hotel rooms..a touch of personality!

Went for afternoon tea at Rufflets and we were immediately impressed by the entrance and lobby. It was all downhill from there. The staff weren't bad, but just didn't seem all that bothered that they had customers in. The waitress asked on at least 3 occasions about allergies, (once would have been enough) but disappeared with items not served and had to be searched for. The sandwiches were dry with small amounts of plain fillings. Cakes were not freshly made, which you would expect at £20 per ... Read more

I was so disappointed with our visit here! I had heard such wonderful things about this place for many years and was delighted that we were going for afternoon tea to celebrate a friends birthday. There were a fair few of us but everything had been reserved months in advance, as part of our weekend away. The chap on the front desk was less than helpful, which was a little surprising, but hey, everybody had an off day. We were kept waiting for an uncomfortable amount of time, considering we h... Took my parents and son here today for lunch to celebrate mum's 80th as she has always wanted to dine at Rufflets. Great choice! The food was fab, in fact my son declared it the best tasting meal he had ever had. The staff were just delightful - cheery, helpful, obliging and attentive without being intrusive. Couldn't fault it. We'll be back! Soon, hopefully!

We had a fantastic overnight stay in the Orchard Suite at Rufflets. The staff were welcoming and the suite was more than expected with a lovely view over the gardens. The suite itself was really nicely decorated, spacious and absolutely spotless. The only negative was that it adjoins a small conference room that was being used when we arrived.... they were really quite noisy however they departed at 5pm and the place was completely silent after that. We had a quiet drink in the bar after dinner... Read more

My partner and I visited for one night as an anniversary treat and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Upon arrival we were shown to our room and when we realised the room didn't have a bath as thought, they were very helpful and we were transferred to another with no fuss. Our room was very nice & cosy and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was spacious, modern and luxurious, with a lovely bath and power shower. Lots of lovely little touches, such as the home-made shortbread and the turn-down serv... Read more
