This new hotel is located right by the M25 so perfect location, the rooms are very modern, sound proof, black out curtains amazing and modern things like USB sockets. You truly wouldn't know the motorway is yards away. The facilities are fantastic and staff are all very helpful and friendly. Great hotel

What a gem! Brand new hotel a stones throw from the M25, excellent location for onward travel. Fantastic interiors, nothing like you have seen before at a HIEX. Very contemporary, bright and cheerful, as was Stephanie on reception. Beds, quilts and pillows VERY comfortable. Aircon works a treat. Someone has thought carefully about the small detail. For example USB ports in the bedside sockets and a proper handle on the inside of the shower door. Haven't yet had the breakfast but have high hopes ... Read more

Lovely new hotel, welcoming staff, but no evening food served! What's going on? They tell me they will be doing evening meals "soon" - check before you book as there are no restaurants in walking distance other than McDonald.

This is a brand new Holiday Inn Express that is impressive and raises the bar for its competitors and I should know, I've stayed in most of them around this area over the past 8 years and found most leave a lot to be desired. The design and functionality throughout this new hotel is refreshing and has been well thought out, providing a stress free and friendly atmosphere with a modern yet quirky slant which gives it character. On arrival parking is ample with parking bays that are generous in ... Read more

Words can not describe how satisfied we was with this hotel we stayed here for 3 nights whilst visiting Legoland and didn't want to leave. I stayed at this new HIE a few days after it opened, so it was still fairly quiet. Good points: + The brand update works very well. It is much more stylish and contemporary than the old HIE decor and seems to have borrowed a few ideas from its Staybridge sister brand, eg the more attractive presentation of breakfast. Nothing seems to have been taken away, it's just a redesign using the same formula/offer. + Simple to use aircon and effective double glazing, both highly desirable given how close... Read more

I had the misfortune of booking for the incorrect dates and was pleased with the communication and the service to amend my booking. Additionally, Stephanie in Guest Services has been great at recommending transportation options. We haven't stayed there yet, but the pre-arrival service has been awesome. We look forward to staying at this new hotel.

Great room, lovely staff but breakfast service was chaos. The service area is far too small, too many wanting breakfast becomes a rugby scrum. Breakfast items and cutlery constantly running out, only one hot water machine for tea, one one for coffee, tables not being cleared as quickly as necessary when busy. For a new hotel this is a big design fault.A lack of communication created a couple of minor inconveniences put down to teething troubles. Otherwise would stay again if only to see if any im... We stayed here to visit the Harry Potter studios, the hotel was easy to get to near the motorway and quick and easy to get to the studios. Staff were friendly and the hotel was very clean. Our room was clean, quiet and comfortable and we all enjoyed breakfast, although couldn't find any salt and pepper but this was a minor thing. More choice of food on an evening would be good so we walked to a nearby pub and ate there. Would stay again when we go to that area.

A great new hotel, very polite staff, excellent helpful service. Despite having aground floor room it was quiet and practical.Loved the area, london colney is great and scenic. Moreover the free breakfast was exceptionally filling. Other Holiday inn I've stayed at had ice machines which they didn't here but were willing from the bar to give us ice when requested. This new HIE is as others have said, superb, it is very new with all modern facilities, but the most amazing thing is, that despite being right next to a very busy section of the M25 it was one of the quietist hotels we have ever stayed in (and there have been many). Admittedly you do need to keep the windows closed in order to not get traffic noise, but the rooms are spacious and airy and the air-con very efficient so no need to open the window. The hotel is very easy to get to, as it's situated close the the motorway. Great location in my books lovely hotel lovely staff. To me a big let down is their Wifi. Nine times out of ten it doesn't work and then when it does it drops. Either they don't offer it free and charge a fee and will go up a tariff on their wifi cost more but customers will b paying or if u do offer it free make sure it works. I just need to know where I and friends stand. Also not good that there is a car parked with number plates 'iran' hmm

Fabulous place with a great location. Stopped here last Sunday as had Harry Potter Tour next morning and only 15 minutes drive away. The best £55 I have spent in a long time. Double room was lovely, new, spacious, spotless and had a King size bed. Shower room was gorgeous and spotless with a huge walk in shower.
