I have just returned from a good expience at The Rose in Vale. It is set in a beautiful sheltered valley in the hamlet of Mithian. I had booked a weekend break in January and since that time the ownership changed. The previous owner had agreed 'all in ' terms with me for 2 nights dinner bed and breakfast. I had been assured by the new owners that all agreements would be honoured. This promise was fulfilled. I would have liked to have met with Claire(? sorry if first name is wrong) in person, so ... We stayed here and had a perfect weekend. I couldn't of wished for a better place to for a peaceful, relaxing weekend. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left everything was done for us. The afternoon cream tea was more than we should of eaten it was lovely. Every meal we had was a delight. We can recommend the Rose- in- vale to everyone who likes good food and a relaxing, peaceful time.

I stayed here last month with a friend, we were visiting an old school friend who's recently moved down this way! The twin room we had, had everything we needed, and was spotlessly clean! We both said it would be a hotel we were happy to come back to. We didn't use any of the facilities, we just used it as a base! Thanks for a great stay!

We have just returned from a weekend at the Rose in Vale Country House Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The hotel is beautifully furnished and the staff excellent and very welcoming. Our rooms were spotlessly clean and we were provided with plenty of tea/coffee - even lovely white fluffy robes! Very peaceful and relaxing, set in lovely grounds. Beautiful coastal walks and beaches in the area. Would thoroughly recommend.

We stayed here over the long bank holiday weekend and were very comfortable. The setting is stunning and our room had all amenities expected. Just one small issue and that is for breakfast there was a choice of 'Egg Benedict'...interesting as its normally 'Eggs Benedict'...and sure enough it was just one egg....enough for some and not for others - just thought I'd mention it incase you want more than just one maybe you should ask! (but not a point worth scoring off the 5!)

We booked last minute , the only room available was the Rose Suite at a pricey £285 . We managed to get a reduction as it was the last room and would probably not sell that day. Due to traffic we knew we were going to miss out on evening dinner as the restaurant closes quite early , we enquired on route what time room service was up to and was told 9pm, again very early. When we arrived the first thing I noticed was a smell ,almost like a hospital ward when they take the food trolley around, ... Read more

Beautiful location but a bit remote. Building four star with one star management. My husband and I were squeezed into a single and when we questioned this we were told we would have to pay a lot more to upgrade, even though our double room was prebooked and paid for.

Whilst the outside of the hotel is lovely, the inside is so disappointing. The reception is tucked away at the rear so it felt as though we were entering the tradesman's entrance. The bedroom was small with a low ceiling and the mirrors and shower were also so low that they were almost pointless. The reception rooms were dull and the bar uninviting. The restuarant felt like a canteen with wobbly tables which were on castors. Food was good, however, and the staff were excellent. The hotel had abs... Read more

This was our first visit to The Rose in Vale and upon arrival we were checked in by Jacqui, a pleasant receptionist who showed us around the hotel and to our room. We had booked a Joyce Nankivel room and we weren??t disappointed with the room itself, the bed or the en-suite. However, from the photograph on their website it appears to be the front of the hotel that you approach from the driveway when in fact the front and reception is alongside this with a roadway leading to the car park. Our stay was unfortunately only two days, but we enjoyed ourselves very much. The food is amazing and the hotel is unmatched. Straight out of a movie set and the garden is also very nice. The hotel is pet friendly and we were traveling with a small dog. The hotel staff is used to it, although the restaurant situation is a bit weird. As a pet friendly hotel, there's no designated area to dine with the dog by your side or under the table. When your dog can't be alone... it's a struggle. We had to ... Read more

We visited with a friend for an anniversary dinner. Although there were a number of diners the restaurant was lacking in atmosphere. The food was tasty but very small portions and rather dry. It was overpriced for the amount given. There are better value establishments in the area. Dissapointed will not return.

The description and photos of this hotel looked and sounded impressive so I booked for two nights in June as a surprise weekend for my partner and I to celebrate our anniversary. It was rather expensive (£200 PER NIGHT for B&B) but as I wanted something a bit special and romantic I was happy to pay over the odds for what I expected to be a classy country house hotel !! Went as part of our Golden wedding Celebrations, having been before. Found it had changed owners early this year, and were a little apprehensive. Need not have worried. Lovely reception from the new owners, and our stay in one of the ground floor rooms was superb, with all you could ask for. Staff are friendly and helpful, and it was nice to find that the food in the restaurant was better than we remember., and local produce.

A privately run hotel located in a rural setting away from any noise or traffic. Access is through narrow country lanes about two miles from St. Agnes. It truly is a country house set in it's own grounds with a reasonable size outdoor swimming pool. The grounds are well manicured with some nice outdoor seating. It has a pond and a stream where you can watch the resident ducks. Access to reception is up three steps. There was no ramp access here so may wish to bear in mind if this may prove a pro... We were fortunate enough to book to stay at The Rose in Vale whilst attending a local wedding. In between making our reservation and the stay, we asked if we could also get married there and I am so glad we did. The location of this Country house hotel is excellent, lovely village with good access to local beaches at St Sgnmes and Perranporth and, central for travelling further afield. Sitting in its own grounds with woodland walks it's an ideal restful place to visit. This was meant to be a relaxing few days paying out for a much more luxurious hotel than I usually go to, much needed after a very busy time.
