Stayed here on the 6th of May 2016 to the 8th, food in restaurant was absolutely awful, staff are all foreign, hotel is very tacky and old fashioned but other than this it is very basic, has simple facilities such as hairdryer etc, the hotel has a pool and gym which were also very basic nothing fantastic about this place but was ok for a 2 night stay.

My wife booked this place after seeing an offer on booking.com for £59 for a one night room only stay. We stayed on a Saturday, didn't get on the small hotel car park and had to pay for parking on a public car park. Despite being attracted to the description that it is a Spa hotel we arrived at 3pm to be told the leisure facilities close at 3pm on weekends. So in order to use the facilities on Sunday we asked for a late check out and ended up paying an extra £10 to keep the room until midday. ... Read more

This is an old fashioned traditional hotel, mostly seeming to be catering for senior citisens value breaks, but the rooms, though dated are clean, bedding spotless, and rooms have baths which I personally enjoyed. The attached car park is indeed small, but further parking is available across the road at the Prince of Wales hotel also owned by Brittainia, for minimal cost. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Rooms are not expensive, and the hotel has a certain charm and charactor. Enterta... Read more

Spent one day at this hotel, the first room had running water, unfortunately it was running out of the ceiling onto the floor, on the way to report the problem I bumped into Russell, think he may be one of the engineering staff, problem solved within ten minutes with a change of room help with moving and a complimentary bottle of wine spot on thanks. The bars are good but the food on half board was very average and the breakfast was cold. I would stay again but only on short visits if I had to.

Unless you want an outdated, loud, hot and not very pleasent weekend away I wouldn't suggest staying here. I wasn't expecting luxury but our stay was not very good at all! The only positive thing that I can say is the hotel room sizes are of a decent size and that I had a bath as well as a shower.

The reception staff were helpful and we were happy with the room apart from a lack of Wi-Fi. I thought all hotels had Wi-Fi these days. Setting foot inside the Scarisbrick is like stepping back in time - to the 50"s lets say. It is faded grandeur. Things are wearing out, most of the clients are of the older generation and it"s rather faulty tower ish !!! However, for the same price as a cheap B and B you get a proper hotel, a lift to all floors,a perfectly acceptable clean warm on suite room, three bars, swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room and a lovely all you can eat breakfast. Beat that for £64 for a double room all in !... Read more

The hotel staff (especially Johnathan) are really friendly and helpful and they would be an asset to any brand of hotel. The food in this place is 5 stars as is the dining room. The old fashioned pub has good cheap beer and it is served by the best barmaid and barman that I have ever been served by. I found the hotel itself to be quite quirky with all of it's different rooms and it is clear that this place was once like a palace and would be again if it were ever restored, by a brand such as Pre... We booked this hotel although we had not stayed in it before we had been in it years ago when in Southport. Our first let down was the entrance and reception which were really tatty as the bar behind the reception had a strong toilet smell which people who came to see us remarked as they came in. As you went up the stairs you could see the grandeur there used to be. Our bedroom was thankfully better with a nice view along Eastbank street.

Lovely period hotel in the heart of Southport, accommodation is at a good price. It is unfortunately well overdue renovating, Brittania Hotels need to spend some money, the staff are helpful and friendly. It seems to be more suited to mature people as the average age was shall we say, retired. If you like real cask ale this is the place to come, most of Southport unfortunately only sells lager and cider but Scarisbrick Hotel has a large selection of proper beer

Stayed here on Friday 9th September for 1 night. Lovely looking building from the outside such a shame that the reception is flanked by a noisy arcade on one side and a soul less bar, resembling a waiting room, on the other. The entrance area is also 'littered' with various boards and posters offering drinks and meal deals which gave the hotel a very shabby appearance. Check in was slow. Noisy, tatty and poor choice of food...The room was triple glazed yet the noise from the nightclubs opposite was still very audible, so sleep was a no, no. The menu was basic and needs improvement and the different themed public bars within the hotel charged different prices for the same drinks. I would not recommend this hotel for the price per room it charges. Neither would I return.

After reading reviews of the hotel we were not looking forward to our visit last weekend but was happy with the hotel, reception area could do with sprucing up but our room 129 was very clean with nice bathroom, not the best view from the window but for the price it was fine, food was very nice and plenty of it, reception staff were very helpful and friendly, would go there again.

Stayed at this hotel Fri to Mon lat week. The only saving grace was it had clean bedding and spotless bathrooms. Everything else was dated, old and grubby. The plumbing noises were dreadful and would wake us 3 or 4 times a night. No sound proofing at all so every footstep, conversation and outside bars were heard throughout the night. The food was horrendous, congealed and unimaginative. No organisation, and the information displayed was confusing and different in every bar. Staff were not... Read more

Hotel is very old fashioned which is fine but maybe even a wee bit of freshening up could be done. Perfect allocation, we were on a Xmas 5 day deal which was great value. Would possibly. Is it again maybe in summer time, although it was a lovely place to visit

We stayed here for three nights as a group of eleven. After rejecting our first room Jayne on reception was very understanding and helpful she moved us to another room that was perfectly adequate. The food was ok with plenty to choose from ,you will not starve. As a group we had a great weekend away. Thank you Scarisbrick.

I'd read some very poor reviews of this hotel but for me it was OK. Very friendly attentive staff and very clean comfortable room. Good value for money and in a very convenient location on Lord Street.

Very old fashioned. Awful noise in my room. I was told was the kitchen extractor fan...like that was ok. Cost me £10 to park as your not informed tbe parking availabity is minimal so had to go into a pay and display and get up before 08.00 on Sunday to refresh ticket. Noisy club downstairs. WIFI terrible reception. Staff have a couldn't care less attitude. Never stay there again...

Well we didn't check the reviews as we were only staying for 1 night and felt it would be OK for a night. How wrong could i be a fight at 8am in the corridor a room that was so small you couldnt walk round the bed and had to move it to get into the bathroom which was the best part of the room.Too small for 2 people and we were only in it for 8hrs in total only got 2 tea bags and 2 coffee sachets £83 no breakfast and a single room for 2 adults sorry not good enough and i don't do bad reviews but...
