Stayed here on the 6th of May 2016 to the 8th, food in restaurant was absolutely awful, staff are all foreign, hotel is very tacky and old fashioned but other than this it is very basic, has simple facilities such as hairdryer etc, the hotel has a pool and gym which were also very basic nothing fantastic about this place but was ok for a 2 night stay.

I stayed at the scarisbrick hotel in southport merseyside Friday and Saturday night left Sunday dates were 20th 21st left on the 22nd , I stayed with a friend and we were very pleased how helpful the staff member was on arrival , the scarisbrick is a very old hotel , but saying that it had everything in a modern hotel you would need id internet, air dryers , as well as a iron board and iron in the bedroom which I thought was a great idea if u needed to re iron anything or if you hadn't had time b... My wife booked this place after seeing an offer on booking.com for £59 for a one night room only stay. We stayed on a Saturday, didn't get on the small hotel car park and had to pay for parking on a public car park. Despite being attracted to the description that it is a Spa hotel we arrived at 3pm to be told the leisure facilities close at 3pm on weekends. So in order to use the facilities on Sunday we asked for a late check out and ended up paying an extra £10 to keep the room until midday. ... Read more

This is an old fashioned traditional hotel, mostly seeming to be catering for senior citisens value breaks, but the rooms, though dated are clean, bedding spotless, and rooms have baths which I personally enjoyed. The attached car park is indeed small, but further parking is available across the road at the Prince of Wales hotel also owned by Brittainia, for minimal cost. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Rooms are not expensive, and the hotel has a certain charm and charactor. Enterta... Read more

3 nights in what passes for a hotel. NEVER AGAIN. Room 419 Try carpets badly stained, window doesn't shut properly and that just adds to the noise from the constant Extraction fans running 24/7 constant drone sounds like your on the M6. The water supply cuts off mid shower 3 mornings in a row, toilet flushes just then takes 4 hours to fill back up., bed was comfortable and bedding clean was the only + point. Complaint to reception was " I'll get maintenance to look at it.." Did they? No. As... Read more

Spent one day at this hotel, the first room had running water, unfortunately it was running out of the ceiling onto the floor, on the way to report the problem I bumped into Russell, think he may be one of the engineering staff, problem solved within ten minutes with a change of room help with moving and a complimentary bottle of wine spot on thanks. The bars are good but the food on half board was very average and the breakfast was cold. I would stay again but only on short visits if I had to.

Unless you want an outdated, loud, hot and not very pleasent weekend away I wouldn't suggest staying here. I wasn't expecting luxury but our stay was not very good at all! The only positive thing that I can say is the hotel room sizes are of a decent size and that I had a bath as well as a shower.

Great food, room was good, location well if you like night life till 4am its for you. Pity this hotel has a position next to all nightclubs and late bars, including the one directly under the rooms. Staff were very friendly and have an extremely difficult job trying to calm guests complaints. Stayed here 23 June 4 days with National Holidays. We had to fight tooth and nail to change hotels would not stay there another minute. Southport is a very nice place and worth a visit just not at this hot... Read more

I have stayed in plenty of hotels all over the world and finally I have cause to write a review because it was that bad! I wasn't expecting much when the car space I reserved was too small, so had to pay and park my van in a neighbouring car park. On entering the building I was met by a really unenthusiastic reception clerk, who informed me that I hadn't paid for breakfast and I am still positive I have. The whole building and room looks like it was last decorated in the 70's I also think some o... Read more

We bought a night here for our daughter and her husband, for their wedding anniversary, bad move. Put us in the bad books, big style. No free parking, had to use a 24 hr place further up the road. Bedroom was shabby to say the least, paper peeling off damp walls, large cracks in the plaster work, loose panel side of bath, with nails showing. Breakfast was lukewarm to cold. Really cant convey how bad it was, yet no apology from management, or offer of discount or room move either. Poor

Room clean. Must have been compared with others staying there. Staff polite apart from one barman. Food good but repetitive. same soup for three nights. Choice of sweet gateau/cheesecake/cheese and biscuits. Breakfast similar repeat and would have liked scrambled egg. Very early breakfast at 730 like getting up for work and also kept awake till earlier hours. Complained. The joke being the entertainment was 8 till10 as policy was that music stopped because of people sleeping in adjacent corr... Read more

Me and my boyfriend stayed for our month anniversary, thought it was nice to get away for the weekend. We looked into the hotel and surroundings, noticed everything was very close as the hotel is in the center of Southport so we was really happy about that. Firstly, we arrived very early to the hotel so we could get checked in and do stuff in the day as we only stayed for the one night - we did look into it first and did notice we were next to the clubs which are directing behind us - the car pa... Avoid. Hotel not cheap at all - 90 quid for one night. Central location and we were lucky to get a space in free car park. Room was tiny - and absolutely baking even though it wasn't a hot day at all. Only one window opened and only a crack. Totally suffocating. Shower was cold. When mentioned to person on desk - he already knew it was a problem and offered no apology. Totally scandalous how much they charged for this stay. Just be up front about what people are paying for - you can't charge peo... Read more

My stay was a SUNDAY night and I was kept up till 2am from the music, drunks, singing, arguments etc from the two loud bars next door! I was there for business and it ruined my stay. Room was small twin, it was clean, bathroom clean and adequate, room serviced daily and fresh towels each day. Food was self service, hot and a reasonable selection. Weekends can be very noisy due to it's central situation and near by clubs. We felt we had value for money for a four night Monday to Thursday cheap break. We did not go to the evening entertainment so unable to comment.

Shame that. Staff were very friendly and helpfull tho. Come on Britannia owners invest a little for gain in the long run

We had read reviews and were apprehensive of staying in this hotel. It was booked for us as part of a business trip. The reception staff were helpful and we were happy with the room apart from a lack of Wi-Fi. I thought all hotels had Wi-Fi these days. The bedroom and bathroom were both clean, but in need of refurbishment, the carpet was worn. The shower was good and we got clean towels every day. The breakfast was a full English with a lack of vegetarian or vegan options.
