Stayed here as a Diamond member with family. The staff in the executive lounge are fantastic, Always remember something about every person who passes through. The only thing i didn't like is that there were a lot of children (about 6 or 7) waiting outside while the parents passed them food and drink from inside which i was surprised none of the staff were doing anything about. We weren't offered an upgrade due to Diamond status but i presume it's due to the room type which was a shame. We have ... Read more

I have stayed here a few times and had very good experiences but our last visit was not so good so will not be returning. I wont bore you with too many details but if you are an HH member (we are loyal Diamond members) and use the executive lounge then beware! It used to be open from 6 - 9pm and children were allowed. Now with no warning we were not allowed in with our 9 year old daughter after previously being allowed to do so. They have also cut the lounge time and it is now 5-7pm not idea... Read more

Had a queen room overlooking pitch, 2 adults and 2 kids. Nice room, great view, even got to see the end of the cricket match on Sunday. The kids get a sofa bed, which was fine for them. Very clean room and hotel with good breakfast buffet options. A few points that the hotel could improve on: No bottled water in room - generally provided as standard (and free) in this level of hotel without asking. The good part of the hotel is that it is new, centrally located and very well kept. Being built into a cricket pitch is kind of cool. I did not get a room overlooking the pitch but my room facing the valley was lovely. This, I think is a luxury hotel (At least the price is) but there are no bell staff. If you are using this pre-cruise, make sure that your suitcases have wheels.

I don't get any pleasure from giving poor reviews especially where the overall experience was fairly good. However, our three day stay had so many small irritants that when taken as a whole actually detracted quite significantly even though none in itself warranted a complaint. We had booked an executive room overlooking the cricket pitch. Check in fine, asked if we wanted newspapers, asked for The Times, none ever arrived. We stayed here to go to a Rod Stewart concert at the stadium, not realising that our room actually had a balcony and perfect view of the concert! We spent only one night at this hotel, in a huge suite overlooking the cricket ground. The hotel is very modern and the bed was comfortable (we thought that a sofa bed would be used for our 3rd adult, but we were given a rollaway bed, which wasn't that comfortable). No slippers available in the room & I asked for two they brought only one. They respond quickly to your call. The good thing was the balcony with view at the ageas bowl. It is quiet far from peppa pig (paulton's park). The breakfast was not good at all & there was no life station for omelette. There was no concierge to help you with the luggage. ... Read more

We stayed in this hotel during our American cup visit in Portsmouth. It is about 20 min drive to Portsmouth, and similar time to Southampton. Receptionist was a bit indifferent and did not welcome us. Our stay was all right. We got a room with pitch view and balcony. It was really cozy just to sit there. But the spa and sauna was at extra cost for hotel guest. Not very nice. Executive lounge was good, hot food and drink served in evenings. Breakfast was also ok.

We stayed there just for 1 night. Room was clean and modern. Sitting on the balcony and overlooking a cricket stadium was unique experience. Breakfast was rich and tasty, but little crowded. Overall good hotel.

The hotel is part of the cricket stadium, and is located in the shopping district and it is a short distance to both Southampton centre and Portsmouth. The hotel is relatively new and the room standard is good, however try and get a room facing the cricket pitch as it is a nicer view. The lounge is nice and spacious however the offering is very limited outside breakfast and drinks in the evening, you will only have access to tea, coffee and water. In the evening there is a small buffet and there... Read more

Six of us visited the spa in October and overall were left feeling very relaxed and satisfied. I all had either the full body massage or the hot stones and facial combination both of which everyone enjoy. The massage was excellent. The relaxation areas were lovely ( please be aware it's not a swimming pool in the pictures it's a jucuzzi) which was again also lovely. The outside jucuzzi wasn't kept very warm and the underwater light was burning hot when you leant against it it was painful! The... Read more

As a Hilton Diamond Card holder, I have come to expect a certain standard. This hotel certainly meets this expectation. Other than the limited local eating alternatives, there is little to be critical of. In fact I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

Was nothing but impressed by this hotel and how we were treated. Staff were helpful, cheerful and lovely. On arrival we were greeted by a lady who was very polite and explained everything we needed to know. Gym access is complementary although my partner and I didn't have time to do this. Our room was a king size double which was lovely clean and very fresh, I enjoyed the audio in the large shower much to my partners hate having the have the music channel on on the tv rather then his programme! ... Great location and great staff thank you. We have just stayed at the hotel for three nights, plus three days in the business suite. Vic is a star! Very attentive, great customer service standards. All other staff were great, but he was the star. Food, drinks and the rooms are just great. Next time need to book a room overlooking the cricket. I hope our company books us here again.

I have stayed at this hotel a number of times and mostly it has been OK although this was the first time I ate for dinner. We were evacuated for a fire drill in the morning the staff had no consideration for the guests or the fact it was a cold November morning and people were in dressing gowns. The bar service was slow and confused a bit "faulty towers" and the reception was understaffed and not customer focused

A really nice Hilton, reminds me of the Aston Park Hilton which is also very nice. The view made a change and I don't even like cricket. The staff are friendly and helpful and rooms well equipped and clean. Well worth a visit if staying in the area.

Stayed here Friday night as I was at a function in the hotel, got a last minute deal on the room so was happy it had not cost the advertised price, was very pleasantly surprised to have a really nice, large room with a big balcony and view over the cricket pitch, makes a nice change to have this. The bed and pillows were super comfy and the bathroom was immaculate. All the staff in the bars and reception were very nice and helpful, overall a good experience.

Very pleased with this hotel . I had a suite . Lots of room and amazing view of the stadia . The staff made my visit . Very kind dealing very well in the whole with my dietary issues and just giving yet little bit extra service that makes a stay so much more enjoyable . We were actually at a charity ball in the ballroom . Even the staff there were good . A young waitress went out of her way to fetch me a sorbet as my dairy free request had been mislaid . The staff serving in the breakfast room w... Read more

Very good business Hotel, with all the facilities needed. Rooms are brand new and really comfortable. Breakfast is in the average, dinner at Beefy's not bad at all. Unfortunately, the location is definitely not the best in town: in the middle of nowhere, taxi needed for anything...

Booked an overnight stay for us to do our Christmas shopping in Southampton on Saturday and use the spa on Sunday. We went straight to town so didn't get to hotel until about 8pm. Firstly the receptionist was friendly and made a great first impression of the hotel, the room (a deluxe king room with view of cricket pitch) was awesome. Spacious, clean and with a great view and balcony. We went straight to Beefy's for dinner and the lady who greeted us was so lovely and immediately catered to my ... Read more

Excellent couple of days at the Ageas, amazing view of the cricket stadium, stunning room, fantastic bed - slept like an angel. Had the most beautifully tasting, well cooked sirloin steak I have ever had. (I have eaten a lot of steaks around the world). Fully recommend Beefy Restaurant. Attentive, friendly, gorgeous staff, I would stay nowhere else in Southampton, can't wait to re-visit.

We??re a family traveling full-time, mostly staying in hotels and, when possible, in Hilton properties. Being Diamond members we want to share with others in the same situation on the highs and low of the various Hilton properties we stay in. This year 2016, we??ve lived in hotels 100% of the days so far. To start with a positive note: the building and rooms are good, clean and new. The beds are new and super comfy, as are the duvets and pillows, the sheets are crisp and new. The balconies ov... Read more

A great base situated just off the motorway and perfect for staying overnight and exploring Southampton's retail the next day. Plenty of parking, so you don't have to worry about whether you'll get a spot if arriving late. Polite and pleasant staff. Clean, well equipped rooms, No minibar.

hotel lovely and staff were very friendly. evening bar staff were a little too attentive, got quite annoying as we were talking and kept getting interrupted. stayed for 2 nights, had dinner in the bar on the 1st night and the food was lovely. breakfast on both mornings was also lovely, plenty of choice... but we had room service on the 2nd night and it was awful, stale bread, chips were inedible as they were far too salty, sticky toffee pudding was bland tasting and i had a bottle of J2O that wa... For a hotel that has been open less than 2 years, I was appalled at the sheer lack of attention to detail within the rooms. From poorly fitted wardrobes with edges so bad that dust collected from the Air Conditioning Extract Vent to a floor in the en-suite wet-room that did not drain away thereby in danger of flooding the bedroom. (I was in an accessible guest room.) Staff were also not bothered about my disability and no offer of assistance was ever offered by anyone anywhere!

This was a nice hotel. Staff very good and well trained and knew their jobs. Very quick very efficient. I thought the bar staff were great. Most of the food at the awards ceremony was very good for a large number of people but if you had the vegetarian option. Not so great. The vegetable soup was OK. The main was apparently, tomato and mozzarella lasagne. This was truly one of the most tasteless vegetarian meals I have ever had. I would have been surprised if this had mozzarella in it. ... I'm a local to this hotel, and I frequent at the health club across the road. The Hilton being built was an exciting prospect for the area. I was excited to learn of the new amazing spa too. The staff are welcoming, warm and attentive. The spa reception do a great job and make you feel at ease and pampered, all communication before my previous visits has been spot on via phone and email. On a mix of holiday and work we hoped around south west of the U.K over our Thanksgiving weekend. First stop was the lovely Hilton in Bath where the situation is the inverse of this one. Not a great hotel building, but incredibly accommodating and gracious staff. Unfortunately not all can be vacation and we got closer to London for work by staying at this Hilton in Southampton. New facility is new and very pretty. The staff not so much. Like we are bothering them. We are Hilton Diamond members.... Read more

We stayed at the Hilton Ageas Bowl for business. It is a very nice hotel - very open, welcoming lobby, modern, clean, inclusive of all amenities. The best part about this hotel is the staff and service. The best I've had anywhere. Each one I cam across went able and beyond. This goes for any staff member we encountered - at check in, at the restaurant (breakfast and dinner), concierge (assistance with locating a service we required outside of the hotel), meeting room service. It was all wonderfu... Read more
