I only choose this hotel as the nearby Hilton was full, I was pleasantly surprised with the room , the bed was amazingly comfortable with a choice of soft or firm pillows, the room was clean and spacious and generally ticked all the right boxes . Big disappointment was the breakfast , very basic selection with no hash brown , fried eggs or mushrooms on offer and a small variety of pastries all presented in an area way to small for the amount of people using it . Overall an ok hotel though .

Another excellent stay at the Holiday Inn, I am surprised they are not rated 5*.!!! Excellent service from warm friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you, superb food as we didn't feel the the need to eat out.. I loved the beef bourgione pie so much I had it twice and the Pizza was yummy too..! Breakfast was just as yummy and plenary off it.. Excellent for couples and families, we would definitely recommend and we will definitely come back again..!!!

The room and the hotel were both spotlessly clean. The hotel rooms are utilitarian but adequate being more suited to an itinerant than a prolonged stay. The breakfast is included as standard with the room and will leave nobody hungry although I am not a lover of Brioche which seems to be the in thing with bread at the moment. Although the hotel is in the suburbs anywhere in Southampton is short ride away The hotel is a good staging post.

I have been staying at this hotel over the last 4 weeks or so as I'm working in Southampton. The location of the hotel is fantastic ... very close to the motorway and about a 15 - 20 minute journey into the office. If you are hoping to be able to go to shops and stuff like that it is a bit difficult without a vehicle. There is a Sainsbury's and M&S about 5 minutes away by car and in the same general area there are a few fast food places. There has been a couple of times that I've not been ab... Read more

I want to say a big 'thank you!' to the team at the Holiday Inn Express at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. After a cock up with, we were left in Southampton without a room (basically, the site led us to book the wrong date at the hotel and when we turned up with the kids, not only was the hotel full, so was every other hotel in Southampton). The staff could have left us to sort ourselves out. Instead, they called around other hotels for us. Luckily a room became free in our hotel an... Read more

Stayed here because we were going on a cruise . It looked like a lot of others thought the same. One of the pluses is that you can leave you car there when you go away. Checking in to the hotel was hassle free. Our room was good size and clean. The bed was comfortable and you couldn't hear noise from outside or from the hotel. Breakfast is help yourself and it was quite good. This is a very friendly hotel we would say here again. It's also reasonably priced.

We were really please to stay at this hotel as it was clean and tidy, I have stayed in many hotels. However the holiday inn was 3 night stay to visit Peppa Pig world for my nearly 3 yr old, she loved staying here at night and even thou it was a pull out bed she slept for 12 hours every night we stayed! Bliss! The breakfast had a good choice from cereal to cooked breakfast, the quality of the food was good, not sure why some reviews moan about not having fried eggs or mushrooms, I though the food... Booked the hotel for an overnight stay prior to our cruise. When we arrived it was obvious that the hotel was busy, it was a Saturday and half term, so should have expected this. We were checked in quickly and went straight to our room, which was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom had a great shower and basic toiletries were provided. You tend to review a place on your first impressions. For me a late arrival at the hotel was extremely pleasant. It was a warm evening and the roads there had been kind. I was booked in swiftly and efficiently. Shortly after I asked for, and was provided with, some change for the vending machine as I was overwhelmed by the sudden need to eat cheese and onion crisps. And so to bed; the hotel interior was clean, fresh and modern, and I gained the impression that this hotel was brand new. The stair... Read more

First time staying here and good reviews from our young family. Easy to find with sat nav, quick check in and hotel general impression looked smart. Room idea for two adults and a toddler, very small TV but guess that doesn't matter. Had dinner in the restaurant with our child, had to ask for a children's menu but choices ok, if a little on the steep side. Room was not as quiet as I would have liked. It was a good position well away from the lift and doors, but air-con type noises even though air-con was switched OFF and more road noise that there should be for a modern hotel. Room carpet had evidence of a hard life but rest of room good condition and clean. Breakfast hot section had both bacon and sausage along with the usual egg and beans so that was good. My husband and I booked this hotel as we were visiting the Ageas Bowl. The hotel is just over the road from this venue which hosts lots of different things. I would suggest asking for a room with air con as not all rooms have been fitted with this yet.Otherwise rooms were clean beds ok and breakfast was very nice. Would come back again. I stopped here on a Saturday night. The first room I was given had problems with the toilet flushing, but a quick trip down to reception and the room was swapped promptly. The room was clean, comfortable and quite with the usual complimentary tea and coffee. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was ideal for me, free secure parking. Close to Southampton centre and about 20 mins drive into Portsmouth as well. Getting in and out of the carpark was pretty easy through a gated... Read more

I stayed for two nights whilst in Southampton for a funeral, the location just off the M27 is very convenient, there is a lot of building work going on around the hotel but I did not find it particularly intrusive. The hotel was really clean and the room absolutely fine, comfortable bed and everything you needed, I was a bit disappointed with the breakfast, scrambled eggs an odd colour and consistency and I suspect powdered ? We chose to stay here after visiting Peppa pig world as its only a 20min away. Check in was quick and easy. In our room the sofa bed had been put up but the metal frame stuck out quite far from the mattress and didn't look safe, so our little one slept in our bed. In our opinion the rooms are small and basic but were clean which is good. Bathroom was a decent size with a nice shower. We decided to eat at the Pizza Hut down the road as the hotel menu wasn't much good. Now onto breakfast whi... Read more

Just what we needed. It includes breakfast, big room with normal size beds. The shower is big, and there is always hot water, it does not matter how many guests are in the hotel. Great for what you need a room, to sleep and relax before the next day.

We stayed here when on a weekend break away visiting peppa pig world/paultons park. We had a double bed and a pull out sofa bed for our young children 3 and 4. They loved it. The breakfast buffet was good to and decent coffee machine if caffeine in the morning is a must for you. Great value for money and a decent nights sleep.

I don't have a complaint on this last visit, as such, although we did notice a slight dip in quality.
