Having chosen and stayed at Botleigh Grange Hotel in May 2013 for our reunion weekend Friday to Monday we decided to revisit in May 2016 Friday to Monday for another reunion as we had been so pleased with our previous visit. Our party was 27 people this time with Dinner, Bed & Breakfast on Friday & Saturday and Bed & Breakfast on Sunday. We had arranged to have dinner on Sunday again at a local Eastleigh Jazz Club. Unfortunately 2 from our group were unable to attend so 25 of us stayed at Botlei... Read more

There was a group of us staying at this hotel for one night. Our room was quite spacious, and everything was very clean. The bathroom was also quite large and very clean. However, this is an old hotel and some of the facilities were a bit strange! There was a lot of storage space and the beds were extremely comfortable. However, the TV was set on a console in the middle of the room so could only be viewed from either the dressing table/desk or the beds, so we had to turn it around depending... Read more

we stayed at this hotel as part of a wedding party, we needed a family room for 2 adults and 2 children but were told that a 12yr old is not classed as a child so we had to pay extra, how ever at the wedding a 12yr old gets a childs dinner.....interesting ! we were put in a bedroom directly above a function room (not the one being used by our wedding party but from what we could hear it was a charity auction and disco.....we could have placed a bid as we felt we were in the room with them, the n... booked at late notice a room for a couple of days. thought the room was good clean and comfortable, but little warm at night even with the window open. the dinner was great value and the food was superb. The staff were very polite. i think a little more organisational training would be good for the waiters. these comments are meant to be constructive to improve the hotel even more. i would happily stay again and am trying to arrange a group to visit for the Motown night in July.

We have been going to the Botleigh Grange for years and always had a good meal until they recently changed their bar menu. We have eaten there twice since the new menu was introduced. The first time they served my meal and the fries turned up about 10 minutes after my meal was served and the meal was luke warm. This time, a different choice of meal which was also luke warm and the fries were soggy. The prices for the bar meals have shot up and they really are overpriced. We love this hotel and a... Booked into this hotel for one night before our cruise at Southampton - on arrival first impressions were amazing with horses in the field & squirrel playing on grass verge??? Looked the height of luxury ?? checked in & we had paid extra for a double delux room to kick start holiday mode. Room was large enough - bed comfy but bathroom let it down - cracked tiles in shower area - grouting a bit grubby - bi day had seen better days too - old fashioned radiator on full blast heat with no contr... Just out of Southampton is the Spa Resort called Botleigh Grange. It is around 650 years old and full of history. The staff are all very young and super helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Meals are really well priced and delicious. Also they have a heated indoor pool and sauna. Very good for the weary traveller. WE booked for two nights and would have liked to stay for more. It is really well situated for the sights around the area. Just loved it.

Nice cosy traditional hotel with lovely grounds. Reception staff a bit dopey. Our room was clean and the beds comfortable. The bar meals pretty disappointing. We ordered granary bread sandwich and they had run out. Why don;t they just get someone to buy some when they know it is getting low? Very short of vegetarian options too. Quite a long wait and heard complaints from other guests. The pool ,sauna etc was lovely ,very clean too. They hadn't enough staff for the amount of guests as was a bu... Read more

On the face of it this looks the perfect place to stop in if you're going to see the cricket or a show at the Ageas Bowl. Well, forget it. It might look the part on the outside, but the inside story is you don't get what you pay for in what is a veritable hothouse. The rooms have no air con, our stand up fan didn't work, you needed the windows open to stop sweating, and you had had to climb into the bath to have a shower - and all for £200 a night. The price was probably hiked because we were t... Read more

We were there for only one night before sailing out of the Hamble and did not get to enjoy the spa or the spacious grounds but it was a mixed experience. Great, helpful reception and newspaper and alarm call all arrived. Huge, spacious room with antique furniture and giant comfortable bed. Shower in the bath and not great. The oddity was the restaurant. Staff seemed disinterested but the burger was good as was the wine when it finally arrived. Hotels have to make a big call now because we are so... Read more

Stayed here for one night in June. The building and grounds are beautiful and the room was spacious, and bed very comfortable. It's more traditional so had an older grand feel to it rather than full of modern touches. Only criticism is room (3rd floor) was very stuffy and warm (even with the 2 sash windows open). We didn't eat here in the evening, but the breakfast was lovely. I would stay here again.

Lots of character but feels a bit tired, especially in the bedrooms. Needs some modernisation to bring it up to standard. Food was excellent, both dinner and breakfast. Drinks were disappointing as Carling was only lager available on tap and the wine that we tasted wasn't great. A nice stay but not as good as it could have been.

Had to look around for a second bath towel. Corridors dark and dismal , needs a thorough upgrade. Our daughter purchased 2 tickets for "The Supremes Tribute" Motown Night and also treated us to an overnight stay with breakfast. Arrival First of all the staff were all very pleasant and smartly dressed. Our room was large, and extremely clean, one lightbulb not working (if you really want to be picky!) My daughter and I booked in for a Pamper Me More Spa Day. This consisted of full body massage each, for an hour, with Melissa, and then full use of all the SPA facilities including the relaxation area. We stayed here before our ferry to the Isle of Wight. The children were impressed at the facade of the hotel. Our rooms were spacious, as were the bathrooms. We enjoyed our time at the pool (although how to work out the locker room logistics was left to a couple of baffled guests). Wish we'd had more time to explore the grounds. Children and Dad very much enjoyed the generous breakfast. The windows could have done with being able to open further as I got ludicrously hot on a June night.

We chose this hotel because it has an indoor pool which we planned to use before breakfast. Unfortunately we were not made aware that on Wednesdays the pool is not open until 10am. so we couldn't use it. Our room overlooked the back of the kitchens and boiler room - not what we expected from the advertised photos. The whole place is in need of renovation and updating.

I imagine that Botleigh Grange once was a very special place but I'm afraid that it is very tired and in need of upgrade. The furnishings are old, windows won't open, bathrooms need modernising. The staff, however, were very friendly and professional and hard working. The food was a mystery, our meals in the evening were very good, but breakfasts were very poo... Read more

School prom event being held at hotel on the night I sayed. I was advised this would not disturb me, but had a full evening of thumping music & screeching youngsters in the grounds. First stay at Botleigh Grange, generally the hotel is ok and the staff are very friendly but this place is looking really tired. Our bedroom was an 80s throw back, tired, pastel coloured arm chairs, green carpet and older style furniture with old fashioned curtains. Room had no air con. The grounds are lovely but ruined by the back of the hotel that desperately needs updating and a lick of paint. Spa facilities were very nice and for somewhere to sleep for the night it was fine. We were visiting the area for a function in the locality last night [Saturday] and the Botleigh Grange was the hotel in closest proximity. Having already read Trip Advisor reports on this hotel we came prepared! But NOT for such poor management of what must have previously been a magnificent house and hotel. I visit the Botleigh a lot now as my company is located very near by. The hotel is quant comfortable and really good value. The staff are lovely polite and helpful with the exception of the night porter who almost refuses to speak to you and when he does you kind of wished he didn't but maybe it was just a bad day.
