In my view, it's just OK and not that cheap even at the weekend. £120 room only on a Saturday!? Fair enough, breakfast was only £10 and the kids ate free...Service was friendly and efficient. The room was a decent size with 2 double beds but the bathroom was small and 'aged'. Water pressure pretty low. £5 to park the car after I have paid to stay - what's that all about?? So it wasn't very good and it wasn't poor - so average is a fair score

On the outside this hotel looks reasonable. When you go past the superficial layer, you will find your room dirty and stained and the food is mediocre and tasteless. For the room and the food I paid £215.00 for a night, and it was not worth £100! I will never stay here again.

I have stayed in many hotels, some very expensive, but have never before experienced the amazing level of genuine customer service I found here. From the minute I checked in until when I left 5 days later nothing was too much for the staff team. Everyone was polite and friendly and really seemed to enjoy their work. The restaurant served really good food, great range and good quality, the leisure facilities were good, the room was lovely and spacious, very clean. The conference facilities were a... Read more

We were visiting the area with family for a wedding, this hotel was convenient as is walking distance to St Alpheges church, less than five mins stroll from the hotel. Check in was quick and easy, lots of parking available at the hotel, and you just enter your car reg in the little computer at the check in desk, very quick and easy. The checkin lady was friendly and helpful. The room was as expected, clean with the usual amenities, kettle tea and coffee etc... But no biscuits! Very comfy bed... Read more

Stayed here whist attending a two day conference at the NEC close by. Having two young children at home, the prospect of a whole night uninterrupted sleep seemed very appealing and this hotel didn't let me down. Utilised the leisure facilities including spa and sauna which was very convenient being open till 10pm and then retired to my room. Next morning the breakfast buffet was very impressive. Just had a lovely two night stay at the Holiday Inn, Solihull. Like other reviewers, I have to say the staff were great. Always helpful, approachable, personable and cheerful with us, and particularly lovely with our kids. The pool, jacuzzi etc are great, but note that children are only allowed in up to 7.00pm. The lobby, restaurant etc are very pleasant. Watch out for parking though, it's £5 per day. Our first night was in a family room at the front of the hotel and we slept really badly... Read more

I know they know me but still I felt a smile on my face. There was a new bar person Peter who was so welcoming he went out of his way to please. Stella was prefect and after the last stressful 7 weeks I've had he just impressed great smile great service thank you Peter!!!

I haven't been here for a while so was pleasantly surprised by the bright new lobby and open plan dining area. Staff on check-in were professional and friendly. The rooms haven't had the same make over as the reception, but are still decent. My room was on the top floor and the shower pressure wasn't great but certainly acceptable. As others have mentioned, it is very noisy when people are in the corridor. This really wasn't helped by someone vacuuming outside my room at 11:30pm when I was ... Read more

We didn't book it so were doubtful about the Holiday Inn brand but were genuinely surprised and impressed. As a hotel it had everything you need, high quality, attentive service and busy enough to have a give it a happy buzzy atmosphere. Couple that with great prices made us think we will be trying HI again.

The Holiday Inn in Solihull is situated a stone's throw from the Touchwood shopping centre. My room was very spacious, clean and well presented. Bathroom fittings were pristine with no lurking mould or unpleasantness. The bed was super comfortable with good quality bedding. Staff at the hotel without exception beforehand and particularly on the day where so very helpful and friendly. I stayed at this Hotel recently but never again. Apparently there is a sign in the Hotel Car Park saying it is private property and a pay and display car park. I did not see this sign and was certainly not made aware of it by any of the Hotel staff. I now am getting threatening letters demanding £100. This seems a strange business model for a hotel.

Got an excellent deal booking direct with the hotel as a IHG Rewards Club Member - discounted room, late check-out & free parking. Hotel is being refurbished and it needs it. Room spotlessly clean, but bed was hard and not as good as you get at a Premier Inn. Rooms need a second chair - why only one when you book as a couple?
