How would I describe The Eastbury Hotel? As a little bit of heaven in Dorset. why did we visit the Eastbury Hotel Sherborne? to celebrate our our 36th wedding anniversary and our package included a seven course tasting menu . My husband is a vegetarian and when I booked I had asked if it would be possible to have a vegetarian seven course option and this request was fulfilled as a total matter of course - what a relief this was! Both of our seven course options were beautifully presented, t... Read more

I wanted to say it was a wonderful pleasure as always for a special treat for our anniversary to come back to your wonderful intimate & such personal hotel which we had such a wonderful wedding reception and night for our guests 7 years ago. Thank you to all your truley lovely staff yesterday evening who couldn't do enough for us with their welcome, hospitality & very kind gesture of a complimentary glass o... Read more

My wife and I called in on Sherborne in September last year returning from a holiday on Dorset and the place was so steeped in character that when when decided to return to Dorset this year I arranged an overnight stay on our return journey so we could see more if this beautiful town. The Eastbury Hotel looked to be the best place to stay and so we scraped our pennies together and booked ourselves in on their overnight special deal which included 2 courses from their evening menu. A short walk away from lovely little town of Sherborne with many historic buildings and a beautiful abbey also quite a few pubs and restaurants. We went on the Spring Sizzler offer..... fantastic value at £119 for overnight stay, 7 course tasting meal and breakfast. Food was stunning and the staff really friendly. Very pleasant to eat in the conservatory overlooking the garden and watch the birds and squirrels feeding. The Dorset breakfast was excellent too. Our standard room (Geranium) was ver... Read more

A lovely place to stay.Seven course taster menu was exceptional along with wine flights .Thoroughly recommended .The staff were very attentive describing each course and where products were sourced . We had a 2 night break and on second night we had an equally delicious feast.Accompanied by a bottle of Sherborne wine which was lovely .I must admit I was surprised at how nice it was .Staying a second night and eating in we had a 20% reduction on the food.Breakfast was equally delicious with a goo... Stayed for one night during a recent bank holiday From the Main Street outside the hotel didn't look much different from many other hotels. But once inside I was pleasantly surprised. Very welcoming staff. Fantastic room, finished to a high standard. Perfect garden to the rear, I had a pint (or two) just sat in the garden admiring the place. Fantastic evening meal (7 courses), once again the staff were very helpful, The food served was of high quality with several element being locally produce... Read more

Stayed for one night recently whilst en route. We would find it very difficult to fault this hotel, it certainly exceeded our expectations - it set high standards throughout. Room was very pretty, with outlook over gardens. It had everything we needed and we appreciated the bathrobes and homemade cookies! The bed was very, very comfortable and the bathroom, although on the small side, was new and super clean. Checkin/out was efficient and friendly. Dinner was excellent - our package includ... Found this place on Secret Escapes. Booking this way is excellent value for money. We had the tasting menu and the food was absolutely amazing! We did feel that the very quiet atmosphere in the dining room spoilt the experience for us slightly as we could clearly hear other people's conversations. The waiting staff were very friendly, food was described in great detail. I don't eat fish and was given a superb alternative. The room itself was clean and comfortable but not very inspiring. Had a great stay, booked dinner tasting menu and had a great evening. Hotel only rated at 3 AA stars but should be at least 4 or five. Service great and the rooms were of the highest standard. We stayed the following night in a five star spa hotel in Bath and it was a disappointment . Well done all at the Eastbury and thanks

We had a £245 package which included the Yew room and the taster menu. Room was ok nice and clean but WHY tap water in the bottles? the court yard has a non working water feature and it looks like its not been swept for days. Taster menu was more about where it came from then actually what it was, we were not impressed, also why only one hottish dish out of seven? We had stayed at the Eastbury before about 4 years ago & it was good but this time it was even better. We had a lovely room (Elder) which was very comfortable looking over the front of the hotel. Spotlessly clean with full tea and coffee making facilities, free wifi and lovely big towels. We didn't dine at the hotel but breakfast was super and all the staff were quite charming. Hopefully we'll stay longer next time.

We were so impressed with this hotel. The room was lovely with lots of nice touches, and the food was absolutely fantastic. We had the seven course tasting menu which was all the better for deciding to have the "wine flight".....a different, really well chosen wine with each course. The staff and service were great and we would definitely return!

A wonderful one night stay in perfect surroundings. Our stay included a special tasting menu which the chef should be proud of. Staff were extremely friendly and the accommodation was delightful. We had a garden terrace room that looked out onto a patio and led to the garden. A recommended hotel and will be visited again shortly.

We stayed for a weekend break, having not been to Dorset before. The staff were great - welcoming, cheerful and helpful throughout, and the taster menu was delicious (if a little on the steep side). However, there were a couple of things that were disappointing. The decor throughout was what I might call faded grandeur, and the Lino in our bathroom looked as if someone had spilt shoe polish and the marks hadn't come out properly. So despite a lovely ambience in general, a lovely location and... Read more

This is a great little hotel close to the centre of the town. Set in beautiful grounds, the hotel is very pretty with each room decorated in a unique style. The food is exquisite with the 7 course taster menu highly recommended. Staff have clearly been well trained to serve impeccably and with good knowledge of all the dishes. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting acoomodation with a bit of class. A most enjoyable stay.

Better room overlooking road at front (not noisy), spotlessly clean bedroom/shower etc and very comfortable. Charming receptionist who made us feel very welcome. Didn't eat there on this occasion but will next time. parking easy, very pleasant garden. Tip- they sell, in reception, to take away, the muesli that they service at breakfast - excellent!!!

Absolutely loving settings. Hotel staff extremely kind and understanding. The wedding meal was perfect. Only drawbacks were the parking ... horrendous for a wedding party and I.m sorry to say very difficult for wheelchair access, a point which I still fail to understand gravel in the tiny carpark, steps into the garden and then gravel or paving stones. I must admit it was quite a challenge and the person in the wheelchair only weighs his 60 Kgs ... But regardless it was beautiful. A speci... Read more

While visiting Sherborne, we decided to treat ourselves to a cream tea. The Eastbury Hotel is just off the busy shopping street that winds down through the town and has a beautiful garden to enjoy in fine weather. Our tea was served in the lounge, a pretty, comfortably-furnished room.
