Booked here at fairly short notice for a Birthday lunch for my wife and friends - in total 23 of us. From the initial contact through to the lunch itself, every aspect was excellent. All the people we met, FOH Manager, the Head Chef and waiting staff were friendly and professional. The differing requirements (nut allergies, gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, high chairs etc) from the guests were all accommodated without drama - and the service on the day was faultless. The high point was wit... Read more

My boyfriend took me to Howard's house for dinner for a belated valentines meal which did not disappoint! On arrival you order drinks in the lounge area which has a lovely open fire whilst you look at the menu. We had already decided to have the tasting menu. We were then seating in the dining room which is small but intimate and cosy. The tasting menu is 8 courses each the right size to ensure you have enough room to finish every course! The chef uses local produce and creates a menu full of ... Read more

A friend and I booked to visit Howard's House for a relaxed afternoon tea to enable us to have a proper catch up. We were welcomed and shown to our table in the lounge, once we had ordered our tea and had our cake stand delivered we were left to our own devices. Everything tasted divine - yoghurt and rhubarb to start, three varieties of sandwich taking into account our dietary requirements, warm scones with plenty of cream and jam, chocolate tarts, raspberry mousse and cherry cakes to finish. ... This is the second time we've stayed at Howard's House Hotel, and the warmth of the welcome, the comfort of the rooms, the tranquil setting and the delicious food cannot be beaten. The wine list is extensive and the dinner menu imaginative. Meals are cooked to order, so one can't expect speed, but when the food comes it's delicious.

This is a little gem - a beautiful small hotel with a lovely restaurant in a gorgeous setting. Just the place to hide away and escape the rigours of every day life - should you need to. I did not stay in the hotel - having just a lunch booking with a family member, but I am very tempted to book a room and escape into all it offers. Set in a tiny village - a very beautiful village - it is just the place to enjoy a delicious lunch and we were lucky enough to be able to take advantage of one of th... Read more

I went to Howard's House last night with friends for a meal. The weather was nice so we sat out in the garden which is beautifully kept. The whole place is gorgeous, a stunning building and set in a quiet village with an equally beautiful church you just can't beat if for the quintessentially English feel. The food was well presented and very tasty. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. We didn't stay so I can't rate the rooms but the restaurant was tastefully decorated and very clean and tid...
