Returned to stay for the night before the Manchester marathon - having stayed here last year. As before booked two rooms - 4 months earlier - and asked for adjacent rooms as travelling with grandchildren. On arrival the hotel was obviously busy (I think full because of the next day marathon). At reception I was given keys to two rooms nowhere near each other. ExplaIned our need having booked in early December, also that I was an IHG loyalty card holder and also an IHG shareholder as we'll as re... Read more

Its a nice place do stay if you re not looking for something luxurious or expensive. Its not far from city center, a short 10 minute walk will get you downtown, right into the pubs and bars nightlife. Reazonable food.

Stayed here for 2 nights. I always heard bad reports about Holiday Inn Hotels. I found this hotel ?? beautiful, clean and very spacious. The staff were very friendly and went out of there way to accommodate me. The only down side to the hotel ?? is the heating. Its blow heating which didn't agree with my asthma and skin but other than that I really enjoyed staying here.

Stayed at a holiday inn for the first time. Overall not impressed, reception service was 10/10 very friendly indeed. Room thermostat not working, not able to turn the air con on but this was fixed when we went out during the evening. Bathroom and main room very clean and spacious. Breakfast....a different story, we went down at 10:30 as breakfast was served until 11am. No sausage, mushrooms, bacon, eggs, hash browns, staff apologised but that's not the point. Eventually supplies arrived but no... Read more

Recently had a single overnighter here with my sister in law. Super staff - they opened the restaurant early for us (good hot food) ordered the taxi for us and generally did everything to make us enjoy our stay. Only complaint- beds could be more comfortable.

Overall this hotel was very good. The room was clean and spacious, the bathroom had shower and bath facilities and all staff were very friendly. The only negative was that it isn't very eco-friendly. I was staying 2 nights, hung towels up to reuse as I don't like wasting water/resources but arrived back to fresh towels despite me following the hotels own "eco-friendly advice" in bathroom. Not a big deal I know but it seemed odd given the eco message was there

Nothing was too much to ask for the staff that worked here, even when we came in full of mud after parklife festival, staff was very organised ready at the doors with bags for our wellies. excellent 24 hour customer service. Rooms where all really clean and tidy and well equipped! Highly recommend for short stay or a longer stay!

This place is randomly a mile or so out of town surrounded by nothing/a slightly dodgy area. Room was ok, what you'd expect in a chain like this. Stone Roses concert was on so all decent hotels booked up/mega expensive. Hopefully won't stay here again, it was just very average, in 2016 in the uk places like this need to do better. Staff on reception were decent though.

Love the IHG brand. Very rarely do you get anything other than excellence. The hotel is pleasant. Not a lot around there to do or see on foot, but good clean rooms, nice bar and extremely pleasant staff. As a platinum member it's nice to get an upgrade and a drink. Well priced and convenient for the city centre for a night out. Recommended for all. Go. Enjoy.

Stayed here for one night and was highly impressed by the comfy and cleanliness of the hotel. Super cheap and great staff too. Cant really fault it except the fact the food is highly over priced and wasn't great at all as my £12 (ridiculous!) chicken burger came covered in mayo of which i did not ask for and didn't taste too good at all anyway.

I ended up staying here for an entire week for work. I honestly wish that I had checked out and asked work to find me somewhere else that first night. The area it is in is not great but to be fair with the shifts I was working I just wanted to get back and go to sleep. However I did not manage this. My room was extremely basic, in fact I was on the ground floor in a disabled room. This would have been perfectly find if the shower was high enough to go over my head and the pully chord right in ... Read more

The Holiday Inn Manchester West is a medium size hotel around 110 rooms over 3 floors it is twinned with the Holiday Inn near Manchester Airport. Restaurant Breakfast is the usual mix of cooked, cereal, prepared fruit, toast, pastries juice and tea/coffee. It is popular with coaches of tourists so can get busy at peak times Dinner menu is quite limited and unfortunately I have had genuine reason to complain with 50% of my meals so I no longer eat at the hotel. There is a new menu so maybe t... Read more

this was not the best holiday inn I have stayed at. not that easy to get to (on an industrial estate on a busy road) but this was more than made up for by the staff. some of the best I have met. the dining room staff especially were friendly and helpful extremely informative with suggestions on where to go what to see and how to get there I can't praise them highly enough .

Stayed over night with a work colleague , the check in was quick and the rooms are a nice size and comfotable , the shower is roomy and plenty of hot water. End of good points. Unfortunatly the evening menu prices are really steep , £12 for pie and chips with mushy peas , it took about 40 mins for it to arrive at the table. It tasted good but not worth £12. Beer prices were less than exspected for a hotel , under £4 per pint. Breakfast was included and was quite decent. The night we stayed t... Read more

The room was very clean, but unfortunately, as with a lot of hotels, the shower curtain did not smell pleasant. I don't know why they can't use vinyl type curtains instead of fabric shower curtains! Other than that it was great. The breakfasts were delicious and the staff were very helpful.

I have stayed in many hotels of varying star ratings and price. I have to say that from a service perspective (and for me this is the most important aspect of a hotel) no one can beat this hotel. To be honest when I arrived i was worried about the run down area surrounding the hotel. I wondered if the hotel would be the same. I shouldn't have been such a snob. From the minute I entered the hotel till the minute I left I was given the impression that all staff were interested in was doing what m... Read more

we had originally booked an apartment from last minute .com, but apparently the comapny went bust so they placed us here. We had gone to watch England in the cricket so it was close enough (less than 2 miles). The staff here are super friendly and helpful, and the young Chilean lad behind the bar is very polite and hard working. The breakfast was fantastic with plenty of choice, and we had an executive room which had everything we needed. The chinese restaurant next door is fantastic too!!

Paid £70 per double room on a Saturday night. It's exactly what a holiday inn should be, cheap, cheerful and basic. Sounds like I got a better room than my parents though even though it was the same price. I had a bath, double wardrobe and big window. Mum and dad had a shower only, single wardrobe and small window. Check in really friendly and my dad was given a free drink voucher for his birthday. Car park was big and free!

Stayed while at a conference in Manchester. Not too far from city centre and good for Salford Quays. Hotel is about average for the price, staff are very helpful and friendly. Not much too do in the immediate vicinity, and transport needed. Rooms are clean and tidy as is the bar area

Not exactly in the city, would defiantly need a car to get around Manchester as the area where the hotel is based is located more of in an industrial area and a lot of building work going on! If you want something quite and out of city it's probably okay and with a car the city centre is 20 minutes away and Trafford centre 15 minutes away!

It started off badly, with a receptionist (Isobel) who told me that she couldn't find my name. I jokingly said she might be tired and perhaps needed a holiday, and she told me, "No, no holidays. People think holidays are always good, but they're not. I know from experience." Hardly the way to greet guests in a hotel. I had room 4 - a disabled access room on the ground floor. As soon as I opened the door, a general odour hit me. Hard to say what it was, but it certainly wasn't fresh. The bed... Read more

As other people have stated, the Holiday Inn Manchester West is a medium size hotel and is approximately a 10 minute drive to the city centre. There is free parking at the hotel. Like most Holiday Inn hotels, the reception staff were friendly and very helpful. I stayed here for the night after a football game and I was impressed. Probably the best holiday inn I have stayed in and I've stayed in quite a few! I might use this my base for Manchester from now. It's not as modern as some of the holiday in express hotels but it does the job. You have a TV, kettle and hairdryer in your room as well as a proper wardrobe. Plenty of sockets and I also noticed a USB port in the base of the lamp next to the bed which is a fantastic idea as I normally charge my ph... Read more

At a cost of £125 per night, including breakfast, I expected a decent standard of accommodation - I usually use Premier Inns, for less than half the price, but sadly they were fully booked for the date I needed to stay in the Salford vicinity for some hospital appointments on consecutive days. I will precede my less than stellar review with a few positives - easy to find (though not in the most salubrious of areas), plentiful parking and the staff were very friendly and polite. I stayed overnight here on business, and found efficient, friendly people and a comfortable, well appointed room. I didn't gave time to stay for breakfast so staff put a take-away breakfast in a tupperware box for me. Premier Inns have raised their rates so Holiday Inns are not excessive - and although I'm a great fan of Premier Inns, I'd rate this Holiday Inn as BETTER. Full marks from me.
