We got a bad impression of the hotel from the start! Building work on the hotel (which seems to have been going on for some time) has closed the road in front of the hotel. This means that your taxi has to drop you off a little way from the hotel, this is a bit of a problem if you have mobility problems and to add to our difficulties it was pouring with rain and we had six cases to unload from the taxi (we were returning from a cruise), we got soaked, hence our poor impression. I took the tram from the train station, it's around 30 mins ride and a short walk from the final stop. Reception is friendly, not too sure about the bar and restaurant as it was pretty empty at my arrival time. I booked it through "agency" website and got good deals for the room. The room is clean and very tidy. Not enough shower/shampoo gel and (fridge is empty) I shall say but good for one night! Recommend if you are here for business. Also, ask for higher floor with quiet room. (Beautiful... Read more

stayed in this hotel a few years ago and now again due to business. the hotel doesn't look as though it has had much work done in that time and obviously attracts a high volume of customers. I found that my room was quite stuffy and it felt dusty. the bed was also particularly uncomfortable - I was glad to only be staying the one night. in the bathroom, the shower gels and 'soap' (it was just another bottle of shower gel) were screwed to the wall which you can expect in budget hotels however, wh... This hotel was clean, efficient, and spacious. It's a bit annoying that I couldn't open my window, but I suppose on the 16th floor they can't take the chance of people throwing things (or themselves) out. Also, the shower had a fixed head and a head on a hose, but it seemed that they had to be both on or neither. These are minor quibbles; it was fine.

Last night we stayed at the Holiday Inn Media City Manchester. This as an xcellent location for the Lowry, War Museum etc. Our room was really comfortable and spotlessly clean but we had only 2 tea bags and 2 tiny portions of milk. We contacted Reception and they promptly delivered 4 more tea bags and 4 small milk. The milk portions are so tiny that we did not have enough for our early morning cup of tea this morning. The Lowry, the outlet shopping, the War Museum and BBC tour, are all within sight never mind walking distance! There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and bars around too so it makes a lovely change not to have to jump in the car to get anywhere. I've stayed at this hotel twice while on business. It is definitely in one of the best areas in Manchester. It's a short commute to the Trafford centre by car. The hotel food is great, and there is a great view of the quay and media city. The only downturn is, there is no parking provided. Otherwise the staff, and the overall hotel is brilliant. I will always stay at this hotel if I am in Manchester. Thanks

This hotel is in a quiet location and easily accessible from the centre of Manchester by the metro link. It is also obviously used by the nearby television studios and the Lowry. At breakfast it was a case of "Spot the Celebrity". Our room was comfortable although the mini-bar was empty. If you wanted it filled you had to buy a "package". The cheapest option was £30. Stayed whilst on business, clean and tidy hotel, staff friendly, only criticism is there isn't much todo around the hotel other than a pub and a couple of chain food places, but there is a convenient tram stop just outside if you want to head into the city centre. Room is generous with good facilities, desk, chair, comfortable chair etc. What let down the experience was the mattress. Sagged in centre and was just really uncomfortable for a couple. Woke up in morning not feeling rested. I'm surprised with a new development that the mattress was already in such poor state. Disappointing and will go to ... Read more

We stayed here for the second time and cannot complain about anything. The staff are very friendly when we checked in and explain everything in the hotel to us. The room is extreamly comfortable and relaxing, the bathroom was spotless and the bed was very comfy (did not want to get out of it in the morning). We went out in the evening and asked for a taxi which the hotel happily ordered and it arrived within 10 mins. When we arrived back in the early hours the staff opened the door immediately f... As the title states the hotel is very handy for the Lowry. The staff were helpful. We had no issues with the room and the breakfast was fine. Pity the restaurant did not look out on the quays but a bit late to change now.

I came here for work one Sunday night. Room was very impressive, big, clean, nicely decorated and all mod cons. The bathroom was similarly tasteful. The breakfast was tasty, with plenty of hot and cold options, pastries, juices, fruit etc. I'd stay again.

I stayed here for 2 nights as I was looking for a dog-friendly IHG Hotel in Manchester and this was the only choice. Location-wise, I wasn't sure if it was going to be a bit out of the way but Media City is a really nice area with plenty of eating options and very easy access into the City via the Metrolink (which sadly isn't dog-friendly) There's work to the exterior of the hotel happening so the entrance is hidden under scaffolding but other than that I can't think of anything negative thing t... Visited here as part of a small group for a birthday weekend. We had a lovely room on the 16th floor. The hotel staff were friendly, polite and efficient. Breakfast was self-service buffet but adequate. We did not eat any other meals here. The bar is relatively pricey but not unexpectedly. We also found the hotel handy for celeb spotting as some of the olympians were staying here during our visit. We had a dog in our party and she was welcomed apart from one evening in the bar someone allegedly ... Read more

Stayed for one night with my son to watch Man U . Lovely room and hotel. Good location. Charlie and the rest of his team at reception were great and full of helpful information. I have only one gripe and that is l didn't get much sleep because the beds are hard as concrete. Thats why only 4 stars!

Lovely room on eighth floor. Fantastic amenities including several mini gyms. Friendly, professional staff. Great hotel for a short city break, however you are a taxi ride away from the main shopping areas. Very close to the Lowry! Ideal business stay hotel. Breakfast was ok! Only reason I marked it down was I was served with the wrong meal in the bar. I asked for Beef Bourginone and was served with a Beef Burger. Staff very apologetic and offered to change it!

This a modern, "cool" hotel with a Marco Pierre White restaurant. Great comfortable bed, nice desk, very pleasant staff, located in what is becoming to be a very nice area in Manchester. However, there are a few items that need to be addressed. There are noticeable draughts by the window areas in which some restaurant seating plus the room desks are located. This is unpleasant and uncomfortable. The breakfast was a let-down. It's primarily a buffet and advertised at £17. To be honest, it's not ... Read more

This is a good hotel located close to media city tram stop. It is modern and fresh looking. The bar is spacious and staff attentive. Slight issue ordering drinks and placing on room tab but resolved by me walking to reception. The ongoing work outside doesn't make the hotel look good but at least there was a warning on booking. Would stay here again.

This hotel is really designed for a short business stay. The space for decanting your suitcase is minimal so for a 4 day stay we had to live out of our suitcases. However the location is perfect for what we wanted; to explore Salford Quays and its museums etc. It is close to the tram system so easy to explore the rest of Manchester. Our introduction was far from restful. On arrival we had just made an afternoon cup of tea when the fire alarm went off.. It takes a long time to walk down from the... Read more

This hotel is in a good location close to outlet and football stadium trams near to go into Manchester City centre. Room was fine if a little small and warm Breakfast tho was very poor beans like mash eggs not much better orange juice ran out and was not replaced. Had to wait to check out as no staff on desk. It is fine for an overnight stay but don't expect any frills. and give breakfast a miss.

Stayed for business and the hotel is very nice and I would definitely recommend. The reception staff were excellent and the room on the 15th floor offered nice views over the city. Room was spotless and a nice size. The dinner in Marco Pierre white restaurant was lovely and breakfast was excellent, with great service. Definitely a hotel I would recommend to stay if you are in Salford or Manchester.
