The hotel itself was very clean , but a bit outdated and retro. The bar was also a little pricey. I would probably consider staying here again. The location is handy for event city, as well as old Trafford stadium, and media city, which is a short metro ride away.

Staff incredibly helpful and hotel very conveniently located for both Salford Quays and City. Ordered taxi, due to high heels??? to go to Lowry, but actually only a 15 minute pleasant walk, in flats! Metro across the road with brilliant links to everywhere! Bedrooms lovely, clean and comfortable and again hotel overall a brilliant place to stay. Parking, wifi, incredible breakfast and great rooms, what more can I say! Well done Copthorne???

I was very disappointed with this hotel after staying in several others in the chain & being impressed. The hotel is very tired & needs freshening up in all sections. The dining room is dismal & basic & when we arrived for breakfast on our first morning it looked as if a plague of locusts had gone through. Apparently there had been two coach parties down earlier but no effort was being made to replenish the food or lay the tables. We had to ask for everything. This morning I could not believe i... Located in the Quays and convenient - as in close to the metro - 2 mins this is a surprisingly pleasant hotel to stay at with wonderful quayside views from the rear of the hotel. Rooms spacious and clean although now looking a little dated and worn in places . Air con would have been good even staying in May. Bar prices seemed a little steep with a bottle of the delicious Deuchars IPA at £6 but they also had Amstel on draught so a plus point there. Menu choices very good in restaurant but ser... Read more

A brief summary includes: - Cracked tiles in bathroom - Dirty ceiling in room including dead spider hanging from wall - Being told the hotel TV was broken so could not view the football match (me and my mother wanted a quiet spot to watch the match my husband had gone to see) and then the tvs were magically working again to show cas... Lovely welcome & friendly chatty staff upon arrival and stay. What a location as was staying for soccer aid & as never stayed before couldn't believe how come and convenient this place was. Didn't take there names but the 2 lovely ladies on the bar was brilliant with our requests. Once in room we struggled to cool the room even with the windows being open, air con or fans would have been accommodating with the heat that was with us. Checked in at approx 2:30pm - reception staff friendly - took my payment card but found out he only pre authorised it at this time - a bit embarrassing when checking out as I though I had already paid . £110 a night with no breakfast was expensive for what the hotel is - but as there was a gig on in Manchester these hotels can charge what they like even for the most basic of room. The room was not bad except that it was very hot and noisy. There is no air con and the windows do not open wide. However do not eat dinner here. On evening one the food took one and a quarter hours. That was just to get the starter. A meal that should have been served and eaten in an hour took 2 1/2 hours to serve and eat. On the second evening they served a so-called carvery, just some slabs of ready sliced Turkey, pallid roast potatoes and frozen catering quality mixed vegetables. I would exp... Read more

Had to stay here as the Holiday Inn down the road was full. I can safely say, I will never stay in this hotel ever again. I always request a room high up and to the back of the hotel as I'm a light sleeper. I was put in a room on the ground floor facing the main road. Club Rooms were booked to gain free wifi and inclusive breakfasts and were c£100 each, decent value for the locale. Because my husband booked everything I didn't know this was meant to be a 4 star hotel until I read the reviews; it definitely isn't in my opinion! We recently held our wedding here. The venue was just what we wanted with the ceremony, wedding breakfast, and an evening reception held there. The organisation was great, and we were well looked after by Rob Southwell on the day. He was unobtrusive and yet always checking that things were ok and responding to our questions and tending to our needs. He was nothing short of brilliant. This hotel is very convenient for going to Old Trafford Football Ground. It is a little dated and could do with a revamp. In saying that facilities are good, rooms are of a reasonable size and are comfortable. Wi-Fi is patchy. We have stayed many times and strength of Wi-Fi depends on room location in the hotel. Food is excellent. Buffet breakfast is goid value and to be recommended. Nearest Metro stop is Exchange Quay which is just across a multi- lane road
