We booked to stay here for our 1st wedding anniversary and paid the extra money for a room with a view. Location wise the hotel is perfect for a short stay on the island and the staff were very friendly. However for the price we paid ( £240 for 2 nights) the hotel fell short in a few areas: 1, there were scuff marks on the walls next to the desk in the bedroom, obviously from where people put their luggage but it made what was trying to be a well put together room look shabby 2, on our first mo... I met a friend for lunch at the Ryde Castle today. I haven't' been for many years as it used to be a bit dog-eared. I was very pleasantly surprised as the décor is very attractive, the service was good and the light lunch in the bar area was excellent. The fish finger sandwich was very special and my friends raved about her Caesar salad. It was also very good value. Altogether very relaxed and pleasant.

What saves this hotel, really, is its staff: very polite, helpful and cordial. At the same time, however, the drinks at the bar were expensive - pint of lager and G&T £8.90 - the lack of adequate toiletries - one small tube of body wash and one small tube of shampoo for two people, for two days - and the VERY unreliable wi-fi access. I would suggest the hotel change from the Cloud to an in-house wi-fi access asap. That said, the hotel is ideally situated and close to many IoW attractions; as ... Read more

Arrived to find a smile and greeting which is a great start. Bedrooms were nicely decorated and clean and the bed so comfy. The breakfast menu had plenty to choose from and was served by a lovely lady. We went out most days visiting different parts of the Isle but returned to the bar for a drink in the evening. A very nice lounge area and again nice staff. We booked an evening meal and could not fault it. All in all, one of the best stays we have had. Will be back!

Stayed for 5 nights with 2 rooms as went on holiday with my partner and my parents. We got a superior room which was £20 extra than my parents double. The bed we had was super King and my parents had a King. Rooms were nice and big (ours had lovely high ceilings). We were staying in room 9 which was apparently the haunted one! Cleaners didn't do a brilliant job on cleaning each day. Sometimes bed would look like a 4 year old made it and they never hoovered. Also one day didn't replenish t... Read more
