A good hotel, well located for the motorway network and only 5 minute drive (10 in heavy traffic) to the AMRC in Sheffield. Self-contained with onsite restaurant and bar, it is easy to relax and unwind after a long day. Evening meal and breakfast both tasty and offer good value.

I recently went there for a good friend of mine's wedding. The wedding ceremony was beautiful and was set out in a lovely room. The staff was also very lovely and approachable. The only that would of made it even better is the food, I have a roast beef and it was very dry. But the pudding was spot on.

Visited Rotherham on business and booked into the holiday inn , on arrival found that the bar and restaurant area had just been refurbished . Comfortable room - room 18 but a distinct smell of drains but otherwise clean . Unfortunately on the road side so a restless night with road noise . Restaurant was welcoming , staff friendly and food served quickly , decent standard . Would try this location again .

What a lovely stay we had at this hotel. The room was perfect, clean and well thought out. Could not fault the place BUT what made our stay perfect was the staff, right from walking in to checking out. Restaurant food was 5* and the staff polite and helpful, no fuss and served promptly (we were a coach tour). Nothing was too much trouble, thank you to the staff and to the chef all food perfect and breakfast served piping hot. Well done your staff are a credit to your chain long may it continue... I started contacting venues back in March and whilst some venues, (who shall remain nameless) never even replied to my email, Leanne, the Sales Manager from the Holiday inn replied within about 15mins-a great sign from the start! From the get go nothing was too much trouble for Leanne. She was friendly, efficient and courteous. She answered all my (many!) questions regarding our daughters special celebration with confidence. She even made suggestions for the function that I had not even consid... Read more

Me and my husband stayed over the bank holiday weekend for two nights, The girl on the desk checking us in was very friendly and professional. We stayed in room 8 it was a nice room. We had breakfast both mornings and that was very nice. We tried out the Pool both days and that was lovely. From check in to check out our stay was very good. I have no complaints at all regarding this hotel and yes I will return.

Room as expected from a HI; clean, comfortable, quiet. Very good reception team. Service in the restaurant was the slowest I have ever experienced! Nearly an hour for room service when the restaurant was dead?! 45 minutes to take an order when only a table of 6 there?! Over half an hour for a single dessert to be served?! Breakfast was no better, my tea took 30 minutes to arrive!! Apparently this is not unusual so I heard during my stay! Not what I would expect from an established hotel company.

We stay here a lot, close to family we visit. They are always lovely. The place has a newly refurbished entrance and dining area/ bar - very fresh and modern, although I think I preferred the way it was. You are met by a huge mirror as you come in the entrance, which after a 4 hour journey is not that welcome! But the rooms are comfortable, the best pillow choice ever, never have a sore neck in the morning. Breakfast with freshly poached eggs are always good. Many thanks to the staff as usual. R... Stayed at this Holiday Inn for a 2 night stay from Friday 10th - Sunday 12th June inclusive, What is still an appealing suburban hotel from the outside still remains but what is surprising is the now funky, vibrant and chic hotel on the inside, the reception area, the open plan bar and restaurant area's gives this once dated hotel a modern and younger feel. My wife and two friends had coffee here recently and it looks like costing them £60 a cup because they had the nerve to use the hotel's car park while they drank it. A cursory glance at TA shows that they are not the first to fall foul of the hotel's bizarre parking system. Before the hotel's management refers to the forest of signs explaining the need to go through a registration process before taking refreshment at the hotel, I would suggest they take note of the fact that this isn't the fir... Very convenient to break a motorway journey. Was a Marriott Hotel. Has been nicely refurbished and is very clean and modern. Rooms are very comfortable but those at the front are subject to traffic noise with a window open. Shutting the windows means that air conditioning is essential but it was difficult to get the temperature cool enough. Complimentary WiFi and a free quite secure car park. The breakfast buffet was very good. A small bottle of tonic water at £2.30p was a rip off.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel appears very tired and in need of refurbishment. It feels very 80's / 90's. Carpets are loud and rooms need full revamp. The bathrooms had a number of cracks and peeling paint on ceiling, and tiles in shower room were parting company with the walls. Decent value stay for a hotel of Holiday Inn standards. Easily accessible from the M1 with rooms, facilities and reception service that you would expect from Holiday Inn at, probably, less than you would expect to pay. Well located for the motorway network (M1, M18), this is a clean, well appointed hotel with friendly staff. The check-in was smooth and the reception area welcoming. I had read the previous reviews about the parking charge issues here, and it is clear that the hotel do their best to warn guests and visitors that there can be extortionate consequences (beyond their control) if you do not register your vehicle at reception. The notice board telling you about this is placed right in the entrance ... Read more

The spa facilities are clean and ok, I would suggest not too inviting for smaller children, as they can only use the pools, not the spa section, and we found it very unusual not to have any chilled drinking water in the relaxation area. (You had to purchase bottles from staff ) The rooms were not too bad, beds and pillows very comfortable, however our sons room w... Read more

Stayed here on a Monday evening as was in the area with work. First time staying at the hotel and staff were very friendly and welcoming at check in. The hotel is let down massively by lack of maintenance and cleanliness of rooms. I stayed in 106 and bathroom had marks all over and paint peeling off the wall. The mirror had not been cleaned as had the previous guests tooth paste and soap marks on. The toilet basin was also dirty. The glass shelf in the room had not been polished and had bits all... Nice hotel in a good location, loads of signs warning you about parking charges, has been repainted recently and rooms refreshed. Friendly staff and a decent room rate. Food was standard holiday inn fodder.

We have stayed here on 2 previous occasions in the last couple of months with no problem ( apart from staff being a little lax) the last time and I mean the last time was awful. We arrived and waited 10-15 mins to check in we were offered a drinks voucher for the delay which we greatfully received. We went to our room on the 2nd floor (double) the room was so small we had to put the chair in the bathroom so we could move around. The 1 st problem was the TV didn't work. Had to go down to receptio... Read more
