Stopped for one night at the weekend and arrived around7.00pm. Met by a very friendly receptionist who completed a very quick and informative check in. The room was well equipped including free safe in the wardrobe, a good hair dryer and the bed was very comfy. The room along with the hotel was spotlessly clean. I used the pool in the morning along with the stream room, all straight forward and hassle free then went into a very good breakfast, vast selection and hot section well cooked and ... Read more

Warm welcome at reception ,room very high standard as we're all amenities. The evening meal was outstanding, the largest best cooked gammon steaks imaginable, served by friendly bar staff. Only a minor point was the music was rather loud ! Breakfast again was well cooked and it was noticeable that fresh items were not left to stand for too long before being replaced.

Really impressed, was a new venue for or work Meeting as we are spread across the region so this was quite central. We had tea and biscuits on arrival, Danish pastries and lunch was a three course self service buffet with a great selection. The member of staff on the day was very pleasant and helpful. Facilities we used seemed really clean and tidy. Hopefully we will be going back again

We booked this as an easy place to stay for a flying visit to Richmond. On arrival my heart sank; there are roadworks all around the hotel & the outside looked tired, dingy & not very appealing. However once inside it's a very different story. The hotel is nice, modern & fresh. The reception staff were welcoming, the rooms were spotless and well maintained. Tea & coffee, toiletries, a fantastic shower even flannels were supplied; there was nothing else we could've wanted. No Road noise that wa... Read more

Had the best time here over the last few days! Booked a short getaway to surprise my mum and turned up to the hotel expecting a standard affair with nothing extra ordinary. How wrong was I? Rooms were amazing and the hotel kindly sorted out family rooms for us despite not being available on the website. Across 4 rooms, 10 of us enjoyed the included breakfast as well as the gym, pool and steam room! The idea was to use the hotel as a base to go and see Yorkshire but the kids loved it there so... Booked this as an over night stay, was able to park very easy in big car park which was free, easy to find just off the A1 with Jct of A66. Easy check in, good staff in general. Room was very good and lots of room, even getting to the room the halls were very wide and rooms easy to find. Beds very soft with nice selection of pillows. Would stay again here if i had too.

To be honest, your first look at the Holiday Inn at Scotch Corner could be a bit off-putting. Frankly, and not to pull any punches, it looks like a 1950s remand home or approved school. My family needed sensible accommodation for a 2-night stop over for a big family wedding. We booked the Holiday Inn with some initial trepidation, although the TripAdvisor comments were helpful. Much to our surprise, we found a bright, spotlessly clean and very welcoming hotel. Thje rooms were big and spacious, w... Read more

Hotel was very well situated and easy to find. Check in was quick and friendly. Room was comfortable with kettle in room for that quick cuppa. We had a meal in the Italian restaurant downstairs which was very nice. The hotel is very much modernised--£3 million has been spent on it. It is well paced for business people and for touring the Yorkshire Dales--Richmond is only 6 miles away. One can eat in the bar or in a lightly Italian-themed restaurant--both of which are fine and the staff are good. But at busy times at breakfast it needs a tight regime to ensure that everything is restocked and that the right plates are available. In this modern age, it must be possible to create doors that self close without a loud bang! This Holiday Inn needs them..... Urgently. The walls need insulating too, they are so thin, you can actually hear other people's conversations. Plus, why does a TV have to be so loud when you first turn it on? Perhaps it's so you can't hear the doors slamming or the voices from the room next door? Won't stay here again.

There seems to be a suggestion to use this as a base to explore surrounding North Yorkshire sights, but you could a lot more picturesque a stone's throw away. More appropriately, a dog show was hosted there.

I booked an executive room. It turned out that these rooms are all at the front and although the room was very good I could not have slept in it because of the noise from the lorries going round the roundabout just outside the hotel. This may be worse at the moment because of the roadworks. The hotel then gave us a very quiet room at the back, which was much smaller but adequate and gave some price compensation at checkout so it was all fine. I didnt like the large number of fierce looking dogs ... Read more

Stayed for 2 nights. Beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean and very friendly Staff. Enjoyed a lovely 3 course Italian meal for 2 in the restaurant very good prices. Perfect buffet Breakfast on both Mornings. The Hotel is decorated in a wonderful 1930's Art Deco theme black and white and chrome and looks fantastic. We had an Executive room with a Huge bed and a lovely bathroom decorated with black marble. Can't wait to go back.

Staying solo for business, arrived 7:20pm and checked in immediately by reception, nice, clean and modern decor Whilst polite, no details given about bar or Italian restaurant - had to ask. Lovely large chandelier and hallways on way to room. Upon entering room, no "welcome to hotel" or similar, other than a general brochure advertising the hotel and room service - no example menu for the Italian restaurant, no details for breakfast , checkout times etc, or details about the gym/fitness faciliti... We stayed here en route to Durham for the uni open day and were pleasantly surprised. The kids shared a beautiful executive room and we had a more basic standard room that said it was great value for money. The chap who seemed to be duty manager could not have been more friendly or helpful. Sadly the call centre that we contacted to clarify some booking details beforehand were not so slick and do the hotel a dis-service.

Hotel staff fab. Bent over backwards to allow me an early check in as I was attending a friends wedding at lunch time. The room was clean, well furnished with a very nice bathroom. The coffee from the bar was lovely, enjoyed whilst getting ready. On my return in the early hours I was shocked to see that the roadworks were very much underway at 2am. ??. I was then unable to get in my room as my key card didn't work so had to hunt s member of staff down. Once finally in my room I ran mysel... Read more

Stayed here for 2 nights when attending an event at Croft Race Circuit. Greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely room, spacious with nice modern décor. Stayed in a room at the back as there were road works going on outside so we were advised that the back rooms would be quieter (which they were). A great base for exploring the beautiful countryside around here. Dined in Franco's both nights and enjoyed very much what we had and my gluten free needs were adequately catered for again t... My husband and i recently stayed here friday and Saturday night The hotel was very clean and modern with great decor, the room was exceptionally clean with all amenities, the bed was huge and very comfortable Breakfast was good with a large selection of food to choose from, the downside to our stay was the price of the the food in the restaurant even with a special offer it was very very pricey and the iron wasn't very good either other than those it was a most enjoyable stay

Spent one night at this hotel. The desk staff were superb, friendly and most helpful. The room was spotless and excellent bed and pillows. Breakfast was also superb and the Lady in charge could not be more accommodating and helpful. One of the best I've stayed in in the UK. Thank you..

Very nice property and well managed. I was in the area for a few days and also stayed in another property of the same price bracket. The holiday Inn experience was certainly superior overall. Price was very competitive. Rooms were superior verse others in the area. Pub/Restuarant was great and breakfast was certainly a highlight. Only gripe was the Internet. Rubbish. I cannot understand in this era how hotels can get this so wrong. It's a very simple thing to fix. I ended up changing hotels be... Read more

We stayed at the Holiday Inn, Scotch Corner recently and was initially very impressed. The reception we got was very efficient and the room was very nice. Definitely a ??cut above?? the usual budget hotels. Everything changed, however, when it was time to retire for the night. The bed has to be the most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. It was excruciating. I got virtually no sleep all night. This was not helped due to the fact that the bedding did not fit the bed. I like to have the duv... Read more

We stayed just one night to facilitate a trip to the theater in Richmond. Very happy with the hotel which was clean, modern and efficient.A large room had everything you could need including iron, ironing board and hairdryer. Reception staff were very accommodating and happily changed our room to one on the ground floor. The included breakfast was excellent offering all the usual sausages, eggs, bacon and beans as well as a good selection of fruit, juices, yogurt toasts and breads. We shall cert... Read more

We really enjoyed our stay at this holiday inn. It is a very clean and comfortable hotel conveniently located off A1, perfect for a stopover. Would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others.

We have stayed at this hotel several times. It is easily reached straight off from the A1 going north and has plenty of parking and ideal when visiting the wonderful Yorkshire Dales. It is beautifully decorated and staff friendly and helpful. Bedrooms comfortable and smart and you cant hear the traffic. There is an Italian restaurant which we haven't tried preferring the bar meals which are good. It has a Gym and excellent swimming pool. Only downside is that it is not in a town so you cant ... I visit the bar/cafe area on a regular basis to hold business meetings. I always receive a very warm and friendly welcome from the staff. The service is fantastic from Jane and Tracy and both always smiling and ensuring we have everything we need. I have dietary requirements and can be very awkward when ordering lunch/coffees with soya milk and they are very effective at managing this! I will continue to meet here as the personal service makes it all the more pleasurable!

After a gap of several years we decided to start staying at Holiday Inns again remembering them to be usually well located and scrupulously clean. We arrived on a cold November day and were shown to our room. It was large but wasn't as clean as in the past and signs of lowering standards were evident- no tissues, really horrid loo paper, one bottle of water( never stayed anywhere else where you didn't get two) and the room was cold. We attempted to turn up the heating without success and were th... Read more

This hotel is just lovely and clean and tidy. The Spa area is well kept and clean. I have to say that the staff are so friendly at this hotel the lads that worked the bar serving us cocktails all night were just such a credit to the hotel ( sorry i can't remember your names, we drank most of your raspberry vodka), The hotel is on a main roundabout so yes if you open your windows you will hear noise, but each room has air con. The rooms we had were spacious, clean and tidy. Would visit again and... Read more
